I've migrated and fixed a bunch of shit along the way, but if anything is broken please use this thread to report it. I've locked the previous thread to focus new issues here.

Two known issues:
- Favicon didn't fly so good
- Need to set up a new tor socks5 proxy for webring

Both of these will be fixed shortly.

This never got anywhere near stable release for mainline distros and is already fixed everywhere.

>>4655
Yes, DNSBL was enabled. I'm leaving it on to see if it helps at all.

>>4644
I don't have an option to force local boards first, I'll see how trashmin is doing it.

>>4650
The report is sent when you submit the form, so yes.

EDIT 9/17: APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOREVER. FEEL FREE TO SUBMIT ONE AT ANY TIME.
I will leave the rest of the post intact, please ignore the special stipulations.

Hello and welcome to the fist round of BO applications for zzzchan. I will outline the application process below, along with some special stipulations for this first round.

To apply for a board, you must submit your answers to the following questions:

1. What will the focus of your board be?
2. What will the rules be?
3. How would you handle the following hypothetical scenarios:
    A. A user who is only breaking the rules of your board has a substantial post history that is perfectly fine up until the single instance you are reviewing. What do you do?
    B. A spammer posts CP. What do you do?
    C. A spammer has slid your catalog and all unpinned threads are gone. What do you do?
4. What time range(s) would you normally be able to keep an eye on the board?
5. If your board becomes active enough, do you agree to look for one or more vol(s) to help you? Do you know anyone already?

Everyman doing what is right in his own eyes, real Judges stuff, "And the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest. In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes." But we follow God's law as it is plainly known. The endchan christian board was redeemed, as it was left to be a disgusting thing. But none of these boards I see as social places, lest they turn into what they always turn into and rightly die in sickness. A good board is nearly good enough but in all history no one has allowed an open good board and such would become corrupt by the poor maintence that follows all these, that being a lack of wisdom.
If someone has a routine and is working for Jesus then they're not going to have much time to care about these places, which is why even if there are any full of the Holy Ghost they are busy with things important. Young wobbling christians who are raised awfully in awful things are very sad and need to pray heavily and also use religion to discipline as training wheels to become better prepared to walk perfectly.
It is horrible when the church resorts to using Zoom, much worse 4chan boards. Anon.cafe will die, I won't celebrate the enemy's death, but at least we will have one less website to waste people's time. Again, if a saint is doing well he'll be occupied. Nasty neti

The Nobody used to post on anon cafe's star wars board. Didn't he.
With the recent upsurge of pedochan spammers, I'd be interested in becoming a janny on /b/. I spend a lot of time on the board and I always report all of the pedo spam, so I think that it would be better if I could just instantly delete it myself.
By pedochan spammers I mean what I perceive as users from a specific imageboard full of pedos, who post things like baby sex doll pictures, pedo advocacy, advertising their imageboard, subversive gaslighting to conflate 2D lolicon with real pedophilia, etc. They have specific posting styles, such as using emojis, avatarfagging as kemonomimi 3DCG models, etc.
I'll also delete normal CP too, of course, and other kinds of spam.
My time zone is UTC 0 and I'm mostly active on evenings and weekends. E-mail me if you're interested.
Should we have /monarchy/ to complete the political board trinity?

A while ago I made a thread with this picture where I offered to delete CP. If someone responded claiming to be me, you should be suspicious because I changed my mind and never responded to anything after posting the thread.

When I said I could prove I'm the guy from /tech/, I meant that I could add proof of your choosing into my website (which I've previously linked in the /tech/ thread), or make special versions of the programs (e.g. baking in some text/image into it) and post videos of them or even send the program itself. I wouldn't consider anything less to be sufficient proof.

Anyway, I was going to clarify why I didn't respond because I think getting no response is worse than getting a bad response, and I realize I kind of did the former, but the thread is gone so I'm posting it here. I never responded because I changed my mind after realizing that I hate 90% of the posts in /b/ and wouldn't be able to feel comfortable stepping away and taking breaks from it if I had made it my "job" to b& CP spam, not to mention there's things that should probably be deleted (like the current dick spam in /b/) but I would have explicitly ruled out my ability to get rid of it since it's not CP spam, so I would have to look at it without even getting the internal satisfaction of "deleting it before anyone can see it".

This thread is for handling boards from other sites that wish to migrate here/have been orphaned if public thread creation is locked on /meta/. If public thread creation is open you are free to make a dedicated thread here, otherwise I will make one for you.

The rules for migration are :
- All Migrating/orphaned boards will be considered outside of the application cycle and should contact me at the same email address listed below.
- I will require proof that you are/were the BO/mod of the original board, or that the moderation team for the board in question has fallen apart.
- You must agree to follow all global rules for this site.
- You must agree to actively moderate the new board.
- If accepted, you must notify anons on the old board if it still exists. I do not mind If zzzchan is used as a bunker, the new board will be unlisted in this type of scenario and will not be announced until ready.

Feel free to ping me at [email protected] in case of a happening. I'll come right here.

>is Tor currently disabled/banned sitewide?
No, TOR is enabled sitewide. It has been temporarily disabled in the past but we don't need to do this anymore.TOR posters now get unique IDs per-session which makes cleanup easy on our end without sacrificing privacy.

>are VPNS disabled/banned sitewide?
Not explicitly, but they aren't given special treatment either. If someone abuses a VPN with enough adjacent addresses then that VPN is going to be unusable for a while.
permabans aren't really effective these days so they are avoided

>were either or both of those ever disabled/banned sitewide?
Before TOR posters had unique IDs we did have to turn TOR off briefly a couple of times, yes.

>are either or both of those disabled/banned by any of the boards here?
No boards ban any VPN explicitly. 2 boards ban TOR but that decision is left to the BOs.

>are there any restrictions for posting through Tor or VPNs, like having to complete a captcha each post or not being able to post images?

Hello and welcome to zzzchan! I will be using this thread to explain how this site is set up and answer the initial wave of questions. Thread creation on /meta/ will be locked initially, I will explain how this will be handled going forward below.

Now, to answer some initial questions:

>Who the fuck are you? Who are the other mods?
I am sturgeon, I was a mod back on fat/v/ and later z/v/. fat/v/ was my first role as a moderator in any capacity. I'm happy to say that Pasta and seagull have also stuck around and will be managing /v/. r9k's BO will also be back.

>Nice namefagging
I intend to only use my name & role tag when posting something relevant to my role or the site.

>Why have you set this up?
Because zchan was doing fairly well before the admin pulled the plug without warning. I'd been considering making my own IB since fat died but once zchan went down I decided I had to make the effort.

>Will you abandon this after x amount of time?
I've gone through the effort of setting all this up after losing 2 previous boards. I'm doing this because I want it to, and I plan to keep this place running as long as I can.

please take away this insane unsolvable captcha shit with the chess pieces and random symbols that look like a child's scribble drawings all clustered together into a space seemingly incongruous to their corresponding squares on the 4x4 grid you click on
Why is tor blocked on like every board?
>Pasta worked very hard on the new logo, be sure to say nice things about it to him directly.
favicon is the only thing I dislike about this site's design, the stars are too small to see so it just looks like a bland Z. the logo works well for the banner though and I'm sure Pasta is a nice guy.

Can emojis be added into the wordfilter? There's some shitposter taking a huge dump on /b/ at the moment and the entire place is reeking of utter shit.
If you can copy and paste the entire range of Unicode characters used for emojis we could end this faggotry all the sooner.
Not sure where to post this but apparently there's a geo ban on IPs from egypt preventing me from posting. Any reason for that? VPNs are blocked where I live and other options aren't practical.

(Maybe this rather belongs on Jschan's issue tracker, but I'm not creating a M$Hub account just to post this)
Can you fix the thread/post hiding? The threads/posts that should be hidden momentarily appear for like a second when you load a page.
And this is bad because there's a reason why people hide things... it's because they don't want to look at them, even if for a second.
Forgot to mention images. This in particular is what bothers me the most.
It certainly is jschan's problem to solve. I can't be bothered to read the script but it may be difficult to solve.

You basically need to create a loop that continuously parses the page contents and tries to catch posts/images as quickly as possible after they're loaded, but I don't think there's any way to guarantee that they won't flash for a split second (at least, not without heavy handed workarounds like loading the whole page with javascript or something).
jschan is hosted on gitgud, not gitlab. you don't need a ms account to post issues there.
It's definitely annoying, but I understand the limitations. Sort of wish there was a filter where my hidden threads wouldn't even take up slots on the page, including the overboard. Maybe just the catalog.

Please make an even worse captcha, thanks.

The problem where you get the same captcha over and over seems to be caused by caching. Since the captcha image is loaded from a generic url (/captcha) it loads the result that was cached previously. You can fix it by using "/captcha?unique_number" instead of "/captcha" as the URL (where unique_number can be anything as long as it's different, for example current time).
test
The captcha is an excellent tool for teaching methodical problem solving which is valuable in programming. I will pass the test, one day.
The captcha is broken, I swear. It only works for five minutes if your browser hasn't visited zzzchan before and fails otherwise every time.
There's a captcha

Why do you delete threads for "spam" just because you dont like them? If you ask why you deleted them you just delete that thread and write "schizo" or something else like "spam" again in the logs. This isnt just a one time thing either. Its happened several times.

What if I encode files into a PNG? Are you going to decode it just to make sure it's not illegal? I'd rather register an account that can be marked as trusted and post with that than be cucked and buck broken in shackles for the rest of my life just because of some fucking spammers that clearly aren't being stopped anyway.

I asked for a good reason, not a bad one.

Are you going to deal with the herdnigger spam on /b/ or will you let it become a mess beyond saving like you've done for the past months?

I've put in several global reports on their obvious and recognizable spam, and you dipshits haven't done anything about it besides leaving it up.
