I refuse to play. I'm still waiting for 20+ year old bugs to be fixed. The old games are filled with balancing issues and filler patterns. The new games are still at 640x480, 60hz, and use sprites from PoFV(2005). The source code for Doom was released in 1997. We still don't have the code for the Touhou games so that they can be kept alive by the community. The developers refuse to add basic features that are high in demand like having an option to disable vsync. The games have serious input lag issues even with patches and they lag like hell on specific patterns. The game slows down instead of dropping frames which is a horrible way to program a shmup. Why don't the developers consider the gameplay community at all? It's shocking to see something like this come out of one of the most successful franchises in Japan. Fangames are the way to go these days.

Vote is a mess this year.

Koishi somehow won with more than half her votes being on #1. The big number of #1 votes she's ahead by is far more suspicious than Youmu's 2021 win.

JNafuda on twitter decided to make fairy OC and used her to campaign #VoteFairy, which got them to 101st place. They got blocked by Letty, but overtook proper touhous like Mayumi and Kyouko on the way there. Some even voted only for Fairies as best touhou. He can't even say their names correctly, so the new voters must be quartaries. The vote will have nothing to do with actual preferences if someone does this with a proper Touhou and not their OC.

Despite the change in couting to give the first place a triple vote and second place a double vote, the placement for the Aki and Prismriver sister didn't really change, retaining their vote splitting effect. Despite the survey response of 42% of voters discovering Touhou and the age being rather low, the new people and new calculation didn't cause that many wild swings.

It's noteworthy that these Fumos will be shipped in October (don't know when exactly in the month though).

-If final player count is below 26 players, the event will be a Best of 3, Double Elimination contest. Otherwise, it will be a Best of 3, Single Elimination contest.

TOURNAMENT PROTOCOL

From previous tournaments, there are some things that we've learned regarding the setup. Therefore, all participants are asked to get a couple things ready for when something inevitably goes wrong.

1. OTHER PLAYER DIDN'T SAVE REPLAYS

As spectating is unreliable at best, it's best to automatically save replays (enable in options). After the match, one of the players must upload the replays (found in Hisoutensoku\replay) and then give strmfag the link. This will let everyone see your matches on strm.
