What have you been watching?
I've been re-watching Fist of the North Star and DBZ.
I grew up with Hokuto no Ken and is still one of my favorites. DBZ is pretty fun too.
I'm also planning on watching 79' MSG and Sailor Moon.
What are some good anime that aired on these two decades? I know there's a lot of good stuff but I've barely scratched the surface.

>but then for some reason Toriyama decided to turn them into useless wimps who contribute nothing other than sucking off Goku and vegeta's dick just to say how strong they are compared to them.
That might of been because Shounen Jump rushed some of his ideas and time to work on the story, due to the tight schedule they set for mangas authors, so it's possible that he didn't have enough time to make DBZ as story and character rich as the OG.

Didn't DBZ Kai resumed the whole anime pretty well? Although I haven't seen it in several years. I don't mind watching the original anyways. I grew up with it.

Just finished watching Air Gear. It was pretty cool and I can well understand why it is popular. The last part felt somehow incomplete though I am guessing that was partly intentional. The open ended nature being intended to leave the audience wondering what new heights the MC is likely to soar to. It is something I would really recommend in terms of plot though at times it can be repetitive, falling into the 'challenge of the week' format.
Initial D

Started watching it couple days ago, all these years i thought it would be boring for someone like me who doesn't care about cars, but i got super into it right away.

It's so comfy it makes me depressed thinking how nice western Europe used to be before the burgers, mudkikes and orcs took over.

now, I may be looking at it through rose tinted lenses because it aired in the early morning back when I was a wee lad going to preschool and I have fond memories of that period, but I think it's fucking great on par with golden standard stuff like dbz.
Yoichi Kotabe should make more adaptions like that. I see him, and not Miyamoto, as the disney of the east.
They're all terrible. Low budget, audio quality, censored and generally inferior to their source products made by a bunch of hacks that couldn't do anything original. Obviously if you're a 5 year old kid you don't really care. But very boring otherwise.

You forgot to mention Gun x Sword that show is pretty good, the mech design are neat, the character are intressting to follow and the OST is amazing.
When I first watched it I thought it will follow an episodic format, but it turns out that every character that the cast meets are important to the story they looked unimportant for me, and I love the fact that the OP changes each character reveal

>00 Set in our times, it's a series that takes inspiration from the middle-eastern war
I liked the first season, it's a pretty good depiction of international politics.
Until the part when the whole Gundam squad had an all-out battle in space.
Christina's death made me stopped watching it.
Not even Tieria in drag can convince me to continue watching it.
The premise of second season was silly anyway: why would a whole world unite just because they share a common crippled enemy? One of the unions could have destroyed Celestial Being entirely by continuing the offensive right after Exia gets wrecked. Once that's done, the 3 unions can just blow each other's asses again in space.

Any mecha anime with a main cast of cute girls?

Been meaning to watch Overman King Gainer, but should I go through Xabungle first? I think I've heard it's a spiritual successor of sorts to the latter, so I'm wondering if it might be better suited to watch afterward.

Great taste anon.

I thought that Bael jobbing was kind of the point. The idea that it was a trump card was just the childish fantasy of a broken man who couldn't understand others.
Not that I'll defend that show any further, especially the second season. The pacing was the only thing more retarded than the characters.

Dragon Ball both the original and Z and Pokemon were a big part of my childhood. Watching Dragon Ball reruns and some of the movies was all did at one point, and playing Pokemon Red while watching the anime was really fun. Bulma and Misty were my first faps too. I've have been rewatching the first season of Pokemon and it's pretty comfy. It holds up pretty well. I also used to watch a lot of Heidi and Digimon. I need to re-watch Heidi though since I haven't watched it since I was a kid.

I just watched Akira for the first time. It was amazing. The backgrounds, the animation, the characters. Everything about it was great.
I haven't seen many anime movies. Mainly Dragon Ball stuff. I watched Tokyo Godfathers and Batman Ninja last Christmas. I've been meaning to watch Paprika for a while, but other than that I haven't seen much. Is there anything you recommend? What movies have you watched recently?

Royal Space Force, pretty amazing movie the visuals were top-tier shit but the story wasn't that great, if you are going to watch you'll mainly enjoy the visuals of it.
These are common recommendations, but I liked Jin-Roh and Perfect Blue. The first one has great animation and the second one is the best example why Satoshi Kon is one of the greats.

Maybe this is a recent phenomenon since all counterexamples I can think of are old, but I feel like a lot of anime movies try to be a series at movie length rather than a movie. Can anyone explain why or prove it wrong?

helllo how should you plan your one shot comics/debut so it can garner attention and crowd

my plan is to have like 20-30 pages like most one shot but idk

how should i plan the content to be as exciting before running full series(because im reenacting JUMP's accepting through one shot and similarly before series and also cuz i have no idea if a series is good anyway)

cant wait for your input!

Just make something fun and nice looking. Maybe add something that makes it stand out from the rest. End it in a cliffhanger to make the audience want more?
