Going through a review of some of the movies we watched.

>Adam's Apples
Not my favorite Anders Thomas Jensen film. The characters felt way too one-dimensional, and it didn't quite work for me in the story because I feel like it didn't lean into the comedy enough. Ivan is in complete denial and tries to only see the good in people, and yet he's insufferable in the day-to-day. Adam is evil because, well, I don't know, he's a neo-Nazi? Khalid is annoying, and Gunner doesn't come across as a real rapist to me. There were maybe two instances where I laughed out loud, but otherwise, it left me confused about character motivations.
>Tampopo
Classic and I love it. I'll share an egg yolk with my yakuza gf any day.
>Return of the One-Armed Swordsman
Jimmy Wang's facial hair and the shirtless guys were hilarious. Otherwise, classic wuxia film that totally comes as a recommendation if you like that sort of thing.

>Groundhog Day
Another classic. Not much else to add.
>eXistenZ
Hilariously bad. The acting was terrible (those accents), it was overly gay (especially at the beginning), and the ending was a cop-out. The ending could explain away a lot of the issues with the movie, from explanations to bad acting, but that's why it's a cop-out. It means you can write a terrible script with plot holes and say, "That's the film, man," which translates to you being a terrible writer. Anyway, at least it was fun to make fun of.

>Predator
Once again, a classic. Curious to hear if anons generally prefer Alien or Predator, though both are a complete different take on an alien encounter.
>The General
Fuckin' A, this movie is great. One of the few films that I actually see why it was preserved in the Library of Congress for future generations. Thanks to the anons who recommended it and mentioned it, I'm really glad I got to re-watch it.

Something something Ultrawoman?
