I''ve been at the last 3 or so game nights for this so I want to make a list of tips for any anons that have never played before.
[General Tips]
>Hit TAB to bring up your tech tree world map as well as select what class you want to spawn as on your next death and what blue point to spawn on.
>The tech tree has 5 blue buttons below it. These are perks you can select that affect how your class plays such as a mage's fire mastery.
>warrior armor blocks light attacks but only from the front and partially the sides. Attacking using spam melee attacks from behind will do damage.
>The mages spell shield that creates an aura around themselves that cancels and reflects all spells including their own. This may also count for healing spells as well.
>Mages can hold down the primary fire button to control where some fire spells go such as fireball.
>Spamming attack on a warrior does nothing. In order for other warriors to hurt each other they need to attack from the back or hold down the primary attack button for a strong attack.
>This game is fun but janky, and the classes all feel a little different and require getting used to. Not too challenging though, after an hour you should be good.
[Good choices for the beginning of the game with 4 or less anons on crusade]
This means 1v1, 2v1, or 2v2.
>Warrior
Absolutely dominates because they can block arrows, block light melee attacks just by existing, and can easily catch up to most other classes.
>Archer
Another major dominator on the field at low levels and with few people. Much harder to play than the warrior however but more rewarding to, especially when you nail a headshot for extra damage from very far away.
>Priestess
An incredibly annoying opponent that can play keep away almost indefinitely.
[CLASS OVERVIEW AND SIGNATURE ABILITIES]
>Warrior
Easy to play and durable. Use strong attacks as a warrior to heavily damage other warriors, and bum rush other classes being careful to block and arrows. Standout abilities are Magic Shield activated by blocking while crouching( it can nullify magic attacks or send them back at a mage), and Shield Bash a running attack that is difficult to control but will almost certainly kill someone if they don't dodge it. Good counters are mage orb spell, bramble to slow them down, and poison to disorient them.
>Priestess
At first glance nothing more than a healslut since she has the very useful ability to gain XP by healing others(her heal also damages the opposing team), but she has numerous abilities that make her very annoying. Bramble slow down enemies and damages them(warriors only get damaged if they dash I think, but are still slowed), stoneskin(apply it yourself and others) greatly reduces all damage especially magic damage, and speccing into either restoration or corruption makes her either supremely annoying(heal) or extremely deadly(corruption). Good counters are shield bash and rogues if you get the drop on her, and archers. Mages can kill her easily to but stoneskin makes it hard for just one.
>Archer
Most difficult of all the classes, but is good at all levels and player limits with a large amount of useful tools. Poison arrows disorient and do damage(I think), fire arrows increase damage and light people on fire, and 2x and 3x arrow are great for if an enemy gets in close to almost instantly kill them. Counters are warriors, lightning bolt, stoneskin, and rogues.
>Mages
A very weak class in the beginning because of how shit their starting spell is, but once they get a few levels have devastating spells like fireball, fire orbs, and lightning bolt which gives them a large amount of utility. A mage with lightning bolt can be better than an archer, fire orb can almost guarantee a kill with fire mastery, and fireball's ability to be redirected allows them to make attacks from what would seem an impossible angle. Difficult to even get your first level up with few players, who always choose warrior, but once you get that first level you're golden. A mage can also become a mage killer by running up to you with their antimagic shield and beat you to death. Counters are archers, stoneskin for damage reduction, warriors(watch out for fire orb), and rogues.
>Rogues
Not as amazing as the other classes, but serves a very important role as they can counter especially tricky mages, priestesses, and archers with cloak and backstabbing them. Poison disorients(fucks with your camera) and DoT, and can set traps. Possible counters are archers, warriors, other rogues, and fire orb.
THIS IS NOT A BIBLE! I am just giving tips based on my own observations. Individual results may vary, and it may turn out some or all of this is only partially true if not outright false. I really hope this wall of text helps.
