I was planning to just announce that an update of the site software was due, but given the recent happenings a more detailed post is in order.

First let me address the elephant in the room: the 4chan hack situation and high volume of users in the wake of a potential migration. As it stands, zzzchan's infrastructure is way overkill and it already is rated to sustain traffic comparable to peak 8chan. And it's set up to be easy to scale up or down, meaning there shouldn't be any issues on the stability and performance fronts barring the occasional adjustment. As for the fear some may have of how a large influx of newcomers might harm the established community, just know we aren't really planning to change the way the site is handled or moderated. So to anyone new, you're more welcome to stay as long as you adapt to zzzchan's customs. I hope you enjoy your time here and all the features modern IB software has to offer.
Board creation is also open, and the application process is outlined in >>>137

Second, freespeechextremist along with my account on it is no more and I have no idea what the admin is smoking. I've set up a poa.st account which will be largely used the same way as the FSE account, mainly news about outages and downtime. You can find me @sturgeonfish https://poa.st/@sturgeonfish

Thirdly, I will soon be updating jschan to the latest version along with some housekeeping. There may be a bit of downtime which will be announced.

It was migrated to fsebugoutzone.org ???

This website could really use a /wsg/ like board centered around videos and gifs.
Replies: >>4985 >>4987
>>4984
No. No point in making entire boards for low demand.
>>4984
Visit local webm threads on /b/ or /v/, and /k/ kind of. Seems plenty enough to me.
>>4983
I'd honestly forgotten about that bunker, I'll just stick to poa.st from now on.

Ok, who wants to be the BO?
Replies: >>4991 >>4994
>>4990
what are even the responsibilities of a BO?
Replies: >>4992 >>4993
>>4991
The BO is responsible for setting and enforcing board rules, and managing staff as needed. They steer the ship so globals only need to get involved if they see a global rule violation. They're also expected to be able to commit time to moderate the board regularly.

The first duty of every board owner is to the truth, whether it's scientific truth or historical truth or personal truth! It is the guiding principle on which imageboards are based. And if you can't find it within yourself to stand up and tell the truth about what happened, you don't deserve to wear that uniform!
>>4990
>>4992
In that case, I'd do it (for free) if no one else contest it. Being a neet weeb mean I got loads of free time.
Replies: >>4995
>>4994
Then email me your answers to the questions in >>>137 . Don't use a complete throwaway either, I need some form of contact with BOs in case there's any need for coordination.
>>4982
You'll probably get faster anime discussion on dedicated webring boards like smug or animu.
party when?

You are now my favourite Internet micro-celebrity.
My bad, saw this late. Thanks for the welcome.
/a/ board is now available
Don't we have already several /a/ boards on the webring? Creating a new one is dumb.

Captcha stays, it keeps undesirables out and is the easiest captcha I've used after getting used to it.
Since the overall activity went up, the captcha threshold should be raised too or else it's going to continue to turn on just because of normal activity.
waow this site is just like muh jarty but without jaks
