Okay, some random rant, aka. did I understand things correctly?
There's that starting village, where the walls keep the fog out. Apparently the wall is airtight, so does the wooden door. And the fog can only go up a few meters in the air (but it doesn't have problem going up to the top of the hill if it has a tree, but if Noa is inside a cave in the hill, it doesn't go to the top of the hill and fall inside). Also, water is impenetrable if it's a sea, but the fog has no problem going over rivers.
Then at the castle we learn that humans that are possessed by this fog stay alive but they turn into some zombie-like creatures who apparently don't age and don't remember what they did while they were possessed. (Also, despite both Seru and humans can be possessed by this fog, somewhy people only outcasted Seru. Some good 'ol racism, I guess?) Which brings us back to Mei's father. Why did he die? Did the other villagers not know about how the fog works and killed him? But he still looked human when they returned. And by the way, in the castle they're described as dangerous things who needs to be kept in a prison, but if they're so dangerous, why do they have multiple person in a single cell? And in that monk temple or whatever, we have these zombies on the loose...and nothing happens. Eimi just stands in the corner. And why the fuck did the people in the castle lock up these possessed guys in the first place? They knew that they don't age, but I don't think they knew it's possible to cure them. But based on that those trees when waken up just repel the fog away, they could probably just put these people on the beach and wait until the wind blows the fog away. And by the way, the dead monks respawn after the fog is gone, but Mei's fathers looks like he's dead for good.
Also after the castle, instead of building a bridge over a river, why not just block it? Interestingly, whatever water was flowing until now, just disappears at the dam, doesn't overflow anything, we don't get a floating castle.
Then we have the characters. Van, the first character, and probably the only somewhat sane in the cast, probably because he only has a few lines. Then we have this Noa, an uber-retard idiot from that cave, then finally Gara, who is so fucking arrogant egoistic piece of shit, that it hurts to look at his lines. And he starts from level 1 when you join your party, practically unsuitable for anything besides just standing there (and without 気合 he can only do two attacks), while he is supposedly some grand master or what.
