My friends are Anonymous. There's no place to go after imageboards. If imageboards are threatened, I'll either put up a fight or stop using the Internet for socialization and only use it to look stuff up.

I haven't opened cuckchan since 2013. It's history now. I consider cuckchanners to be in the same category as Redditors and Facebookers. There's always newfags coming to other sites complaining that it got ruined without realizing it's been getting worse since the beginning. They get replaced with another generation of newfags that accepts the shifting baselines because it's all they know and it repeats. Watch current 5 year olds show up here in 10-20 years complaining about how cuckchan got fucked again.
There is a problem with post quality but don't forget you're on /b/ which is supposed to be the asshole of the Internet. The topic specific boards tend to be higher quality but slower. Imageboards have a problem with a lack of innovation. Most site owners use preexisting codebases without making improvements. The cockring has a problem with dead boards, redundant boards, and cross site drama. It's hard to find new places without lurking moar but that has the side effect of low activity. Imageboards don't have the kind of mainstream exposure and word of mouth that cuckchan does, so newfags tend to be disenfranchised cuckchanners. Imageboards try to emulate cuckchan too much. Most of the popular boards are legacy boards with the same title as on cuckchan. 8chan had some niche communities but current sites mostly have variants of /b/, /a/, /v/, and /pol/. It's hard to monitor for interesting posts across multiple sites without manually combing through everything which gets tedious. Because of this, a lot of Anons stick to a few homeboards and don't look around much.
If you want posting quality to improve, bump threads and post content that you like. Otherwise, go someplace more rulecucked. There's boards that are private and new posts are hidden until approved by mods.
