Well, I think there's two ways to look at it:
1: Is that these animals wouldn't have survived in the wild, which is correct.
2: Their health issues in this context are fairly minor. The hairless cat originated in Russia, but it lives indoors, so the cold isn't an issue. The short leg kitty obviously couldn't survive on its own, but it's fed by humans, so there is no issue.
So, these animals actually get to survive and propagate due to their relationship with humans. In that sense, I don't think it's a bad thing.
Now, the dogs that are specifically bred to have smushed faces that cause breathing problems and stuff like this is another story. I think the hairless cats are okay, though, since it occurred naturally.
