[Hide] (211.3KB, 402x517) Reverse Figured we should start planning a bit, but bear in mind I'm not an expert on sportsballs and what is or isn't effective in PES.
My idea would be a balanced 3-4-3 formation. I heard that football teams nowadays mostly rely on offensive formations but I think this one can't go too wrong.
There's also so-called "Team Strategies" (see https://archive.fo/XZPFS ) which dictate how the team acts on the field. I figured we should maximize flexibility and aggression, meaning;
>Attacking Style - Counter Attack: When on the ball, players will burst forward looking to get themselves to threatening areas.
<A quick striking attack with a fast advance, willing to put forward longer passes and stretch players further out around the field.
>Build Up - Long-Pass: Direct playing style involving long balls being played to the front line. Players will pull away opposition players to create space and once a long ball hits its target, they turn to providing support to attackers ahead of them.
<Self-explanatory.
>Attacking Area - Wide: Team attacks from mainly out wide. More links and combinations played in the wings during build up.
<Self-explanatory.
>Positioning - Flexible: Players play free-flowing football, exchanging positions to cover for teammates.
Players are willing to overlap and cover for each other on the field as the flow of play requires.
>Support Range: 9 of 10
<The first slider setting, this determines how far players tend to spread themselves out when looking to receive passes on offense.
>Defensive Style - Frontline Pressure: When possession is lost, players apply pressure from the front looking to win the ball high up the pitch.
<Aggressive style of defending, with a willingness to try and win the ball back almost as soon as it is taken away.
>Containment Area - Middle: Form a defensive line that cuts out all avenues for forward passes, then force the opposition players towards the middle where the team can defend in numbers.
<Self-explanatory
>Pressuring - Aggressive: The first defender will move in and close down opposition attackers, trying to win back the ball.
<Defenders try to stifle attacks by suffocating the man on the ball.
>Defensive Line: 4 of 10
<The second slider setting. The higher the level, the further up the pitch the defensive line will be.
>Compactness: 6 of 10
<Last slider. The higher the level, the more compact the team's overall shape becomes when defending.
Regarding the advanced strategies I'm not sure what to pick, but Centring Targets and Gegenpress sound like they should mix well with our battleplan.
We also still need settle with 16 to 23 2hus that will play and who the starting 11 will be.
On them we can divide 6 medals (1 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze) and team captaincy which are basically skill boosters.
Input and suggestions to that wall of text?
