>Stop blaming devs and blame consumers, anon. It doesn't matter what the game is, who it's made by or who it's made for. If people don't buy it then it's a flop.
Why shouldn't I blame both? Sperging at buyers isn't quite enough, especially when so many indie and AA games are at least partially funded through government programs (which quickly becomes obvious if you pay the bare minimum of attention to game credits). We don't live in a purely free market economy, and even if we did, we'd still have to contend with the massive culture and support structure around game developers which helps them educate and support each other at best and hosts backbiting lefty cliques at worst.
There's an important flipside to the whole "go woke get broke" business too, if we want to talk about buyers. Non-cucked artists of all kinds are rarely supported by their own side in any meaningful way. Many anons sneer at drawfags for having patronage systems or the thought of us commissioning them (both of which were the traditional way the arts were funded historically); we sperg at devs and other artists for not exclusively using cryptocurrency, making their own engines, setting up their own storefronts, and starting their own publishers; and even when they do everything we want, we rarely notice, talk about, or buy their stuff. Not only is this an extreme example of the perfect being the enemy of the good, but even if somone actually does fulfill all our autistic demands, he knows we don't have his back and will turn on him for the most retarded and pedantic reasons.
Frnakly, we're so good at not supporting those ideologically near us for any reason imaginable that the perfect psyop to make us utterly useless, distracted, and isolated would have near-identical results to our current state.
