I figured I'd see what else these people have been involved in, what major names there are, and what projects might be suspect. Sticking to script-related stuff here.
>Brian Gray
Guy seems to have a history with both Square-Enix for stuff like Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends With You (no apparent involvement with the sequel, at least), and Drakengard, as well as Nintendo for Fire Emblem, Glory of Heracles DS and Xenoblade Chronicles X. Also script writer for Resident Evil 3 remake, translator for Dragon’s Dogma, and the 3DS era version of Azure Striker Gunvolt (might be responsible for the Xe/Xi/Xo/Xum bullshit in the original English script).

>Casey Loe
Short list of works, so I might as well mention everything: Valkyrie Profile PS1 and PSP, Wild Arms 5, Wild Arms XF, Tales of Symphonia 2, Castlevania Judgment, Tales of Graces f, Monster Hunter 3 and 4 Ultimates, XCX, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

>Alan Averill
Lots of localization work for Nintendo of America (various Fire Emblems, Hotel Dusk, Advance Wars, Baten Kaitos Origins, XCX, Tenchu: Dark Secret), Capcom (Dragon’s Dogma, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate), and Square (Nier, Drakengard 3, Nier Automata, SaGa: Scarlet Grace), and Sony (White Knight Chronicles II, WKC Origins), among other things. The big ones that really stand out is that are XCX and recent Unicorn Overlord, both of which he’s listed as having edited for.

>Sam Burton
There’s a lot of Sam Burtons that come up. Looking for those involved with translation or editing work though, this seems to be the most likely one meant (Samantha Burton). Not sure if anything on the list is particularly egregious, but there’s Grisaia Phantom Trigger Vol.06, World of Horror, Star Ocean: The Divine Force, Momodora: Moonlit Farewell (not a Japanese made game, but still), and Silent Hill: The Short Message. Also “English Review” for Trek to Yomi; not sure how much impact that role could have had on the script or content; maybe it was just proofreading?

Overall, the connecting elements for the first three (Burton just seems sort of randomly present, but has worked with Blaustein multiple times) seem to be having worked with or at 8-4 and NoA at some point, as a lot of those games shared between the people above were ones 8-4 worked on (note that NoA has also hired 8-4 to work for them before). Now, this isn’t to defend 8-4, but they ‘’can’’ be made to do acceptable work. However, that seems to heavily depend on if the publisher hiring them cares enough about how the writing of the game's story and characters turn out in English, and limits their freedom to take “creative” liberties. Their stated favorite projects are ones where they are given limited or essentially no oversight on how they choose to handle them. Baten Kaitos Origins is one they’ve cited as being allowed to take over every last bit of the game’s localization; I wouldn’t be surprised if other heavily rewritten games like Tales of Hearts R are also on their list of favorites if asked at this point. Not a name that's nigh guaranteed to produce shit, but one to certainly be leery about the involvement of
As mentioned earlier, 8-4 was responsible for Unicorn Overlord’s English script, which strikes me as possibly being another favorite where they got to do what they wanted, as either Sega and Atlus encouraged it or simply didn’t give a shit and allowed it anyway. Likewise, I have to think 505 Games likely did the same here. Whether this too is headed by 8-4 themselves, or just has people connected with them prior and having adopted their “Honeywood inspired” mindset for localization, I’m not certain as of now. That link up there at the top only has a cropped screenshot of people's names and their role, not the company they work with, if any.
