Probably not.

Devs seem very shady considering they have another of their games in early access and had another game they just abandoned. I think the game was called overdungeon. And from what i can recall, when the Palworld trailer released they changed their company name. You could see the edit on steamdb. So no other of their failed games showed up. I did check a few months ago again but seems like their failed games are now there. Just really shady practices.

Early access but it should be a riot to watch what happens.
Been looking forward to it for years. Heard Craftopia is meh, though, so probably good to not get your hopes up.
They at least post gameplay videos on their jewtube, which is a step up compared to everything else. The lead dev's favorite game is Dwarf Fortress, that should tell you probably how autistic it just might get if they don't abandon it like all of their other games

>>232309
I saw some gaytuber commenting about PALWORLD, tip-toeing around his NDA . He said the devs made a statement saying that there is no PVP at initial early access launch. They're experimenting with PVP internally.
>We want to find out the right type of PVP that fits PALWORLD and when it's ready we will share that news with you.
Seems like a red flag. Isn't it a bit late to be internally prototyping a major game function to "fit" PALWORLD?
Multiplayer has a weird problem. If you are the host of a Co-op game you can switch between Single / Co-op freely. Your guests cannot. They plan on adding a server sync transfer later. Again, isn't this a bit late? These are major considerations that should be ironed out before what is basically a beta you pay 29.99 for ((( early access ))).
If you want to be hopeful and optimistic then sure these are non-issues. In fact, if the devs are competant these are non-issues. If the devs are competant ...

this all reminds me of an ancient comic i wish i saved where a guy desperately tells people "BUT IT'S IN BETAAAAA". i already mentioned how they abandoned all their other games, especially Craftopia because i remember people getting excited for that, then it just died out with a whimper.
if the "company" gets a no man's sky-tier redemption it's cool, but if it can be pirated, modded, and have a dedicated server on its own without steam then it might be decent

Yes. You can also pick up a not-Vulpix and use it as a flamethrower, butcher your not-pokemon, catch human NPCs as if they were not-pokemon, butcher those too, and run sweatshops. No breeding captured humans I think, but surely mods will fix it.
Which is haha so edgy, though I dunno if it's going to be interesting in the long run. If you're already a Rust/ARK/Valheim enjoyer it'll probably be right up your alley. But it's not a pokemon game, it's ARK with pokemon-shaped dinosaurs.

If you're the same kind of normalnigger that actively lurks 4chan you must be the same kind of retard that has a Steam account and pays for videogames. Why don't buy the game and try it yourself? If you don't like it you can always refund it on Steam, and if you can't decide on that refund timeframe you won't be all the poorer for wasting all 30/40/60 dollars it may be worth on sale.
I can't tell you my opinion on it because I don't care enough about it, but if you're that curious you should try it yourself, instead of taking some anonymous post on an ADD-riddled hellhole for gospel. In the end, isn't your own opinion the one that matters the most?

>>232663
I'd hardly consider myself normal. And I deleted steam a while ago.
>>232661
>You mean fun?
It's not necessarily fun, it's funny. The first few times. And then it loses its novelty and it's just another feature, which only leaves the normal fun factor the action has.
It's like modding GTA:SA to play as Mario shooting niggers. It's extra fun for a little bit, and then you realize you're just playing GTA:SA. Saying lines like "mama mia I sure hate-a these darkies, wahoo" can extend the fun a little but even that has its limits.

>butchering is essentially just releasing a pokemon except you get a drop you'd also get if you shoot up a random wild one
>the human NPCs are just mons with the same crafting capability some of them have, no special ability like lose of them have, and butchering them doesn't give anything I think
>using a mon as a weapon just combines your weapon slot and one of your AI helper slots, wasting one or the other, so you just do it because it looks funny
>sweatshops is just the autocrafting system in the game when ran efficiently
So all of it is just a bit of flavor on normal mechanics, which adds something only for as long as the novelty lasts. It's not some revolutionary new mechanic. Hence, "haha so edgy"
Replies: >>232668

I mean.
I've 100%ed Shadow the Hedgehog just because I thought a hedgehog with a gun is hilarious so who knows.
I think a couple people here got it into their heads this would be Kenshi with fakemons, where you could LARP as an African warlord/Thulsa Doom and piss fire on enemy camps with your pet not-Charizard before rolling up to steal their livestock and have your way with their women. That was always going to be a longshot at best given the devs are a couple steps above asset flippers and I was expecting more of a goofy sandbox or wave-based shooter. Hearing that it's actually about fellating various meters like every other "survival" game is disappointing though.

I’m shocked at how not shit it runs, despite that 16 GIGS RAM talk it runs really smooth on my 10 year old computer with 8gb ram. Gameplaywise its okay so far. The combat is a bit shit but I haven’t done much yet aside from “hit a cunt with stick”. The pals themselves are pretty good, got more personality and detail than other survival games followers like Conan. They also dont need much micromanagement which is nice. World design hasn’t grabbed me yet but again I got maybe 1 hour or so of dicking around so far. Will try more tonight.

So far its better than most EA survival games, and better than any recent pokemon not high praise but yeah. We’ll see if it keeps my interest past the early fun most of these games have or if its boring and pointless later.

>an ancient comic i wish i saved where a guy desperately tells people "BUT IT'S IN BETAAAAA".
You don't fix aesthetics like this in beta. It's decided on far far earlier because artists need time to make assets mesh with each other which ultimately determines a game's style. "Beta" is not some magic bullet or time capsule to allow miracles. It's a stone-throw away from full release. The systems they have are set, beta is to mature/stabilize them. I really doubt the change you wish to see will happen. Are people complaining about it? That'd be the only motivator for change and even then they could just ignore it. It's a major undertaking which rarely happens.
Game's okay. Don't really care about the "Type A Type B" shit. If a faggot kike showed up at my game studio and told me that he'd make me a multi-millionaire if I changed the name of two values in a character creator, I'd probably do it. Probably should just stick to piracy though. Lamball is cute.

>Policital Correct Gamer
>It's over-committing to the bit, except the bit in this case is, well, abusive labor conditions and animal cruelty. And not only is the bit bad—it's actively making the rest of the game worse.
>It's a fun set of factors to juggle. Problem is, that juggling act turns into a slog just so the game can deliver a bad punchline. Palworld isn't really asking "What if Pokémon had guns?" Palworld is asking "What if you could mangle Pokémon beneath the inevitable, crushing weight of industry?" It's not tongue-in-cheek. It's mid-2000s Newgrounds edgelord.
>The crafting and survival in Palworld is only interesting when it's driving me to make decisions on how I deploy my Pals, but instead of doubling down on what sets it apart, Palworld draws out its progression just so I can terrorize my Pals for a shortcut.
>cMaybe that's funny for somebody? I don't know, man, I aged out of shock humor a decade or two ago, and I'm not convinced it's enough to sustain a game once the influencer attention shifts elsewhere. Even if I can change the world settings to multiply resource and production rates, Palworld would be better off spending more effort on finding interesting ways to deploy its Pals. When the game's default trickle of resource rates means the fastest way for me to get my next upgrade is to capture Pals just to harvest them with a censored butchering animation, it only makes me wish it wasn't wasting my time in the first place.

I'll write some stuff in case anyone is interested in this game

>plays like an open world game similar to ark, valheim, vanguard story, etc. Where you can build a base, gather resources and deal with hunger mechanics. while there is an objective list to follow, it a rather 'short' tutorial on what the game is, eventually you'll get the gist of what to do.
>The main game is simply exploring, capturing lots of pals and beating 'unique' bosses in the very tall towers
>the decent gimmick that this game has is that you can get your pals to do slave labor, doing tasks like growing food, picking cotton, mining ores, etc.

>note to consider: the game has a lot of parameters you can customize, down to hunger rate, resource/xp gain, how fast eggs incubate, how much damage you take, punishment for dying, etc.
>you cannot bring your own players/pals to other people's multiplayer servers, you start from scratch

>levels matter a lot, gear matters a bit, your pal/pokemon matters much more. that being said, if you get a higher level pal than your player's level, it will temporarily scale to your level, the pal's true level is still the moment you captured it and will also gain xp as usual
>necklace pals are great, this includes daedream (the best so far) and dizzi (shoots lightning)
>pals you can mount are OK, flying pals is great for aerial mobility, the deer one (Eikthyrdeer), is great for ground mobility due to the horn uppercut move
>mountable pals tend to be slower if you only walk with them, try to get abilities that make them move forward or get traits that give more movement speed like 'swift'
>stats worth investing: health & weight. attack is covered by your pals (you can get pals with the vanguard trait to get more attack by 10%), stamina is superseded by mounting pals, work speed is also covered by your pals.

>leveling is best done by capturing pals, keep track of what pals you already have caught as the first 10 gives good exp
>try to find pals with mining of lvl 2 and higher, easiest one to find is tombat which spawns at night near the starting area. having mining pals of level 2 allows you to mine ore, which is quite important and you will need a lot of it
>there are few major qualities that a pal can have: alpha pal and lucky pal, alpha pal is the boss variant of the pal - usually has better stats, lucky pal is the shiny equivalent - you can hear them and the pal's size is larger and tend to have moves that aren't learnt such as a shiny lamball has a dark laser equipped

>water pals helps with fire damage during raids
>creating a base even if unbuilt, creates a fast travel point, you can intentionally die and teleport back in case you ran out of food, die to heat, etc.
>you can find rare blueprints that are stronger versions of certain gear, such as finding a blueprint to craft an old bow that does more damage, finding these is rare

Chinese taoism rimworld is fun, but the point still stands. Circle part is auspicious, pentagram part is ominous. Match an element with their supporting element, don't build doors willy-nilly, and everything will sit in a bright green "very auspicious" level sect-wide. It can be restricting but it's pretty lenient and doesn't stop you from building aesthetically, only breakthrough rooms need that level of hardass adherence.

With regards to this game its type chart is very simple, basic elements rock paper scissors cyclically while special snowflake types go off in a linear tail. Compared to the pokemon type chart. Compared to the big ass table from pokemon and most copycat derivatives mimic.

Palworld developer claims 100+ pals are original, not AI generated
https://archive.is/HRW0x
>I noticed this after I started making it.
>It took a month to make one Pal … just the 3D model …
>Mizobe’s journey into game development is startling to say the least as he recounts a story of how he thought it would take 2000 days to animate all the Pals in Palworld; it turns out that at the time Mizobe didn’t even know what a rig was for animation and was just doing everything manually.
>One day, I received a call from a human resources company and they had found a person named Adachi-san.
>He is a veteran motion designer with a lot of experience, and apparently he became interested after seeing how Craftopia was made.
>Then, everything changed when I was hired as a contract worker.
>Mr. Adachi was also taken aback at first.
>“Did you create the motion in this state…?”
>“What about the rig?”
>Simply put, a rig is a useful auxiliary mechanism when adding motion.
>For example, human joints have a fixed direction of bending. It won’t bend the other way. However, if you don’t have a rig, you’ll have to manually modify the motion each time you create it.
>Although Pocket Pair was aware of the existence of the rig, it had not adopted it. (Also, I didn’t even know the word rig.)
Palworld sells over 4 million copies in 3 days, over 1 million concurrent PC players

>Japanese developer Pocket Pair announced Palworld has sold over 4 million copies in roughly 3 days since its early access launch.
>“Momentum has increased since yesterday, with the latest sales at 86,000 units per hour.” Pocket Pair said in the announcement.
>Palworld was just released on January 19th, for Windows PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store), Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also on Xbox Game Pass.
>It’s worth noting Palworld’s concurrent player count has topped any paid game in the history of Steam, topping even Cyberpunk 2077’s top playercount of 1,054,388 with a staggering 1,291,967 concurrent players.

Is It Ethical To Satirize Pokémon? Sigh. Twitter Debates.
>Wake up babe, a new Twitter discourse just dropped. Is it ethical to satire Pokémon? Is it bad? Is it wrong? Will you go to hell? Will God smite you where you stand? Should you simply pirate a game because it’s making fun of one of the most popular video games of our time, a series that literally made “Nintendo” a household name?
>Here we go again. Twitter, once again, is debating something that would fry the brain of a small Victorian child.
>Is it ethical for Palworld to satirize hit franchise Pokémon?
>Controversy — discourse, outrage, whatever you want to call it — began after one Twitter user demanded others avoid supporting the video game Palworld because it supposedly features Pokémon “rip-offs.” Per the tweet, Palworld seems to feature a wide assortment of “Pals” with very similar designs to pre-existing Pokémon, down to the “same exact idea,” “same body shape,” and “head and eye shape lifted from Meganium,” that Twitter user wrote.
>Now is a good time to remind everyone that Palworld is a Pokémon satire game, an open-world survival game where players collect “Pals” in their “Paldex,” adorable pocket-monster-like creatures who love you unconditionally and will work to death on your behalf. They can grow crops, build your base, shoot machine guns, and sacrifice their life for your survival. You can even cook them for food if you’re hungry. Also, apparently one of the Pals is down bad for humans. Good news, Pokémon fans of e621: We’ve finally found the perfect game for you!
>Given Palworld is clearly a super duper 2-edgy-4-you parody of Pokémon, getting mad at the game for its parody designs is like getting mad at Rick and Morty for ripping off Back to the Future. My bad guys, I didn’t realize Rick Sanchez was a Doc Brown parody! That’s SO problematic!!
>“Why are you going to bat for a corporation’s intellectual property rights,” one Twitter user aptly tweeted.
>To be clear, some critics have pointed out that Palworld’s monsters are a bit too on the nose, almost as if creator Pocketpair essentially created Pokémon OCs and slotted them into the game. But as I wrote previously for The Mary Sue, I think this just heightens the “Pokémon parody” immersion the game offers. Palworld is trying to be a bizarrely violent satire of Nintendo’s greatest RPG franchise, and no one is getting hurt if the game delivers that exact intention. Let the devs have some fun. Discourse isn’t necessary over this one.

You're both learning the wrong lesson here.
The state of the industry is such that all you need to do to make money is make a sincere attempt to satisfy people's preferences. You can be wrong about what some of those preferences are (mistaking the top-down enforcement of type 1/type 2 character creation for bottom-up demand for it). You don't need to know how to use the tools. You don't need a huge budget. You can just do a half-assed job at giving people exactly what they are telling you they want and money will flow to you, because the major players in the industry have stopped trying to do that because they hate their customers. The crown is lying in the gutter. Pick it up.
Replies: >>233137

I'm not sure where you are seeing sincerity here. This kind of focus group pandering is something every single company does. Sincerity would be making a game you want to make, or something you genuinely think would be fun, without being overly concerned about what the normalfags will think of it.

Every single one of those companies thinks it knows better than its customers what will keep them playing, and none of them care what the customers want. They'll dangle a few things people actually want to lure people in but then slap them with daily quests and 80 different currencies and a battlepass and all kinds of dumb shit intended to put people in a monetization loop rather than give them what they want.
Palworld is, by contrast, pure in its pandering: the devs make something people want, based on those people's repeated explicit statements about what they want, and they exchange money for it. The devs don't have to be passionate about the game to be sincere in the way they're carrying out that exchange. It's sincere in the way a competent, honest tradesman is sincere, not in the way a great artist is sincere, but you have to have that lesser virtue in order to achieve the greater one.

It sounds like you are being taken for a ride.

If a dev censors a game and says "we censored it because the Americans hate beautiful character" would you praise them for "giving people what they want" as well? Same exact shit.

They added body type bullshit to the game. That's the fact of the matter, and I don't care what excuse they trot out to defend it.

>They added body type bullshit to the game.
The game has male and female bodies labeled "type 1" and type 2", because the devs looked at American games and saw that they did things that way, and since the devs are not Americans and do not understand that American corporations despise their customers, they assumed that meant that's what Americans wanted.
Replies: >>233143

He didn't find ties to the CIA or any other three letter agency, it's all conjecture at best from what I can gather as he himself claims he 'probably' found ties, it shouldn't surprise me that anons are stupid enough to see an info dump that looks well researched and they will instantly believe it because it confirms their biases towards something they already hold on little regard, like any popular game released within the past 10 years.
Take it from the man himself
<The CIA thing is purely speculation based on previous patterns, but the absent and conflicting accounts of the mother, frequent movements for short periods to places that would have major changes or attacks during his stays until his son's birth, and the inconsistencies in the timeline between accounts gives reason to believe that something is going on that has hints of federal connections.

I mean I don't understand what the big breakthrough is here, some corporate suit has been making deals all over the place including China and this is supposed to be surprising...how? Oh no they outsourced cheap labor from China for Pal designs or some shit, it's not like Japan hasn't been outsourcing their stuff like animation and manufacturing to Korea and China for ages now.

>I think the poster is implying the CIA connection is Tim Riney, one of the co-founder's. Tim Riney happens to work in countries right at the same time around the CIA doing some shenanigans said countries.

Anon, the first TGS trailer had a few hundred thousand views on Gematsu 2 years ago (plus all the uncounted views from TGS streams and people actually at TGS), and IGN's trailer of it last year has nearly 2 million. Plenty of people (including me) knew of it, and it looking like abandonware plus "not-pokemon slavery lmao" made it stuck in lots of people's minds. Just because you don't pay attention doesn't mean something comes out of nowhere.
Enough people knew of it, wondered if it was going to be garbage or fun, and when pleasantly surprised for once they tell others. That plus the zomg edgy pokemon effect makes it go viral, it sells more, which makes Steam advertise it more, repeat.
It being completely free if you're enough of a fag to shell out $5 to Microshaft every month for gamepass multiplies that even more, because multiplayer.

That said, rewatching the original trailer and comparing it to the actual game is pretty funny. It's painfully obvious it was just a completely out-of-engine concept video. Normally that's done to secure funding but their claim that they made it on a 10k budget goes against that.
>>233230
Tell that to Nintendo.
Also it doesn't matter if it's legal or not if a massive corporation decides to take some nobody to court, they can win simply by bankrupting you with court and lawyer fees if they repeatedly sue your ass which is something every large corporate entity can and will do. I don't like that anon's response either, nor do I like how the anon who posted it in the thread presented it. They entirely missed the points I was presenting to jump to conclusions that the company is a puppet like the Calisto Protocol's was for Nexon. If I could rewrite it, I'd cut out the CIA parts and anything about Tim Riney but leave in the parts about James Riney since the connection between him and Mizobe sets up the idea that the company exists to put out games until they can receive funding from Riney or a larger, likely Chinese, backer. Mizobe has left out large swathes of his past until recently, and his connection to existing money hasn't been reported on. I'd leave in the Chinese connection, which you barely addressed, but make it easier to understand that the structure of the companies their angel investor draws from are basically shells and are typically used to launder money. I didn't discuss or mention any outsourcing to China. The company already has ties to China, but these aren't apparent to outside viewers. Mizobe created a company that helped Chinese buy land in Japan with crypto and had a sketchy angel investor from China whose business connections aren't easily found, and the studio's first game is Chinese or had to become Chinese to be published, something there's little trace of on its store page and no trace of in the public conscience. My conclusion was something I was shaky on too. I still support the second statement, but I recognize the "it's the CIA" angle sounds insane without concrete proof and undermines the legitimacy of the argument. I'm more alert for any potential ties to Chinese companies that Palworld could have than convinced that it was bankrolled by China.

Another thing which strikes me as odd regarding the sudden and unheard of popularity of Palworld is the "indirect marketing" done by anons themselves, or supposed anons I guess is the better way to say it. That guy earlier said the game was spread everywhere after it premiered in E3 or the VGAs or whatever but I, like many others, only heard of it a week before it was slated to release. That's also ignoring that this game was slipped past other "Pokemon clones" that were heavily marketed on some of the most successful systems available. My main go-to example is Yidsney's Spectrobe series, which (Despite being a resounding commercial success) couldn't even pass one million sales on the Nintendo DS (Forget the two sequels). More recently, Yo-kai Watch (Which Nintendo handled majority of the marketing for, even in the West) only passed a 1.5 million on it's initial release (With the recent entries approaching 2-3 million).

Even Digimon, perhaps one of the biggest and longest running rivals to Pokemon has never approached those kinds of numbers.
>>233263
None of these had the marketing appeal of pokemon, digimon came around the same time that pokemon fever exploded and offered nothing that pokemon didn't while having much shittier games.

>Another thing which strikes me as odd regarding the sudden and unheard of popularity of Palworld is the "indirect marketing" done by anons themselves, or supposed anons
I wouldn't jump at shadows and say there are "supposed" anons. It's more likely that anon doesn't have much knowledge of the company's previous projects, especially Craftopia, and enjoys the idea of an edgier monster collection game that is neither Digimon nor SMT, regardless of execution.
>I remember the initial reveal trailer sure but it was like a huge gap in between then and a week before release. What gives?
The title is on Game Pass, making it easy to play without trouble despite the company's poor version control. Many e-celebs were given keys and likely paid for ads to frame negative press about the game as a minority view despite it being only a step above an asset flip. ARK and Rust are still popular with a silent majority, and it scratches the same itch as those.

A larger component is that the 3D Pokemon games have been technical failures and middling-to-failures in the eyes of audiences, either immediately or over time. Unlike Animal Crossing, the series hasn't tried anything seriously new in decades when it comes to videogames because it would hurt the formula and brand image. While they shouldn't throw the Pokemon concept at anything like Digimon does, it would seriously help the franchise if they branched into different genres. A Pokemon MMO or something similar to YuGiOh's various duel simulators would sell like hot cakes, and, while it's too late to get on board now without seeming like a desperate attempt to regain relevance from Palworld, a game similar to Dragon Quest Builders would be difficult to screw up. If they wanted to go for safer routes, they should revive the Pokemon Ranger series in 3D and bring back Colosseum. On the other hand, Palworld makes a game without the moral constraints of Pokemon and the overdesigned edginess of its competitors, though the latter is to the point that it's bordering on plagiaristic. I'm not saying the game is good or became popular on merit. My previously stated opinions make that clear. However, the game had enough money behind it and skilled enough marketers that it filled a niche. Where the money came from and what the ultimate purposes of the game and its company are for different, more conspiratorial, discussions.
>>233269
Spectrobes gives you a gun, but the games were too weird and had a plot that was too hard to follow to gain mainstream success. Combined with their poor combat mechanics, they weren't meant to last. However, the character and monster designs were great.

You live under a rock. I heard about the game several times over the years from twitter background chatter (I only have an account to follow a small number of shitposters and game devs; plz understand), and it had been mentioned perhaps half a dozen times in the months leading up to release. You seriously have no idea how insulated any image board is, especially this place, if you wonder where the marketing for Palworld game from or how it became so popular.

Admittedly, there are psyops like Apex Legends and other products from AAA studios that don't have any kind of novelty or quality to sell. There are other factors at play for Palworld too, since there usual Nintendo faggots have been making video essays and crying about how the devs plagiarized GameFreak, which is so blindingly obvious it lacks any bite as criticism.

There are people on twitter combing through every model in palworld and comparing the geometry to that of characters in Scarlet and violet and pointing fingers claiming they have identical topology or some shit.
This is so deranged, what compels people to behave like absolute retards like this.

It does not matter what reason they put it in the game. It does not change the fact that they are part of the agenda of pushing newspeak. If you have a problem with body type bullshit but still play games that put it in them, then you are part of the problem!
>but im pirating it
>im not giving them any money
It doesnt make a difference whether you pirate or buy it. Its equally bad since you are consuming literal propaganda.
>how is body type propaganda?
How is it not? Its literal newspeak that is trying to replace male and female.
These "people" also like to do this to already established franchies aswell. Because then alot of people that are invested into said franchise but may be against body types will be more forgiving towards it because they want to play the new game. I saw this with Elden Ring. I've seen it with Splatoon.
>but im so excited for this game!
You dont think ive been excited for games before only to find out it has some woke shit like body type in it? Its happened several times. There is no hypocrisy. Its about principles. Its about beliefs.
If You Do Play These Games Then You Are Directly Supporting The Woke Agenda
I said it before and i will say it again. It does not matter whether you buy or pirate it. Simply playing any of these games is supporting the agenda. No matter what excuses you may have. You and i both know its true.

and i'd also recommend waiting until palworld fixes their shit a little bit before even doing a server. there's shit including but not limited to:
>memory leaks that happen when someone enters dungeons (the game just makes a giant dungeon every time someone enters even one)
>when the server does reset on its own (which is pretty neat), all pals are in the void and will not do shit, not feed themselves, and possibly just get incapacitated or forever depressed because medicine making is pain
>the same thing can happen if your chunk of your base is despawned too
>pals can also randomly glitch through hills, mountains, etc and will never come back up unless you recall them

Wait for a few years and a tons of mods, let the normalfags beta test and pay for the game.
>>233523
The medicine and dungeon bits are the worst. Already had two crashes because of the leaks.
However, the medicine is a glaring issue that happens even if theres no bugs/issues happening. On a server if you log off for 8 hours, expect all your mons to be fucking ill. The resource my plantation produces the most is fucking depression, apparently. I don't even have them working at Cruel/Brutal levels because my candle/plant/cloud lolis deserve love and they end up with all sorts of shit.
You can't direct your pals to stop doing shit and rest, or to do specific, not-sanity draining (but useful) tasks like grazing, turning on torchlights, or hanging out in the breeding area.
Also regardless of server quality, there's a lot of lag. (Unless everyone's really close by.)
I'll play it a bit longer (pirated though, you can join official servers as a piratefag) but if I do another run I'm waiting for this shit to be fixed.

the big reason why that happens is because your chunk is unloaded and your pets are stuck in purgatory and can't get to their feeding thing.
but really, the sheer punishment just for making medicine is too much. as a player it takes forever, and unless you have like a level 3 medicine pal it'll also take them forever.

There's another big issue currently, where a few different things can cause your character to become corrupted on servers. The guild system is shit, so if someone leaves one while some members are offline you get fucked, but even just playing normally you can sometimes die in ways that just break your character. Only fix for it is deleting your character data from the server and starting over.
So yeah, between that, the issues you mentioned, and the lack of actual endgame goals I'm not playing more of it for a while. Apparently the plan is to keep it early access for a year and have a full release in 2025, so maybe then I'll get a zzzserb running. PETA Releases Statement on Palworld
https://archive.is/e6y7l
>Pocketpal’s open-world animal-collecting adventure game Palworld has caught the attention of animal rights organization PETA due to its apparent cruelty toward animals. Prior to release, Palworld was marketed as “Pokemon with guns,” and as such, it doesn’t really hold back on the pixelated violence, even against the eponymous Pals that populate the game world.
>However, the cuteness of the Pals has caused some players to feel particularly bad about killing them, as evidenced by occasional posts on social media. Of course, one of the central gameplay mechanics in Palworld is base building and crafting items, much of which requires loot that drops from Pals. These valuable goodies can be obtained in Palworld by capturing Pals with a Pal Sphere or by sticking them in a Ranch, where they freely drop items as they roam around. But loot can also be collected more quickly and cheaply by simply slaughtering the wild Pals inhabiting the world.
>It’s not only a few players who are having a hard time with possibly mistreating Pals. PETA, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, got in touch with Insider Gaming and hinted that it may be creating a vegan guide for “Palworld fans who have no interest in eating Pals… It’s ‘Veganuary’ after all.” This wouldn’t be the first time the animal rights organization has stepped in to help gamers out. PETA created a vegan guide for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players when that game released in March 2020.
>It’s worth noting that the statement from PETA seems concerned only with eating Pals, even though there are a few other potentially distasteful activities available to do in Palworld. In addition to the aforementioned slaughter of Pals, captured animals are put to work in what essentially amount to unpaid labor camps, with their only recompense being a fluffy bed and some grub. Furthermore, even human NPCs can be captured in Palworld in the same manner as animals.
PETA is still a thing? Damn, normalfags are fucking retarded.

Nintoddlers are probably the dumbest human beings on the planet. They have no real friends so they pretend the executives at nintendo are their friends (see: people actually crying about iwata dying despite never even talking to him). The only memories they have besides being molested in their childhood are playing nintendo games and so their role model IS nintendo. No other fanbase on the entire earth has the kind of cum guzzling cult-like devotion they showcase on a daily basis. All to the company that would sell their mother into sex slavery if it would net them 25 more yen in profit in the balance sheets.

Nintendo are the jews of Japan. It's funny how some of the best games on Nintendo consoles are games Nintendo didn't make. All Nintendo cares about at this point is seeing how many ports/shoddy numakes they can shove onto the Switch, alongside other pander-y shit like Mario Wonder or that godawful Peach game that isn't out yet. The pokefags are probably the worst subspecies of nintendrones though. It's only normal that the (supposedly) highest-grossing media franchise of all time attracts some of the lowest dregs of society. Shills, dogfuckers, faggots, and yet they still defend gayfreak by making up excuses for 'em. It's exasperating, something as big as Pokemon should NOT be shitting out slop like Scarlet and Violet. I just don't buy their shit. Don't give the pokejews any of your shekels. They have done NOTHING to deserve it. The worst part is how some of the money spent on Pokemon shit goes to faggot-enabling "cHaRiTiEs". They're wasting their money on faggotry when it could be better spent EXPANDING THEIR FUCKING STUDIOS AND HIRING MORE EMPLOYEES. THEN PERHAPS THEIR GAMES WOULDN'T BE SUCH DOGSHIT. Fuck Pokemon.

Why though? That's what gets me. It's bears little resemblance to Pokemon, and really is more of its own thing. IDK why Pokefags want this game dead so badly. Has Gayfreak really mindbroken them that badly?
Replies: >>236462 >>236484
>>236454
They are that mindbroken and would be even if porkyman didn't exist but it's also true that all the mons in Palworld are just design elements from random Pokemon duct taped together and made the minimum 10% different to give them a defense in the infringement lawsuit. It's honestly genius and GF must be fuming that they haven't found an excuse to nail them to the wall yet, even with Japan's fucking psychotic copyright regime.
>>236454
It's not just with Pokemon, Nintendo faggots will rat out any and all fan projects in a heartbeat. They're called nintendrones for a reason, and yes their minds are broken to the point of not only being mindless consumers, but online attack dogs for a faceless corporation.

And worse, succeeds.
Palworld is in very early stages of development and still has alot more content and interesting features than anything pokemon has put out in years. I havnt touched it yet because i want to wait until its more developed, but with all the fags buying it anyway in this state itll probably never get finished because its probably easier for the dev to just cash the check and run.

Yeah they'd be pretty stupid to run right now when they can put forth the minimum amount of effort to btfo nuPokemon and milk this cash cow for a little while longer. Hell if they tweak some of the designs just a little bit more to further differentiate the pals from pokemon then the already tiny chance of niptendo having any copyright claims will go right out the window and they can roll in money and nintoddler tears to their heart's content.
Replies: >>236552
>>236542
>differentiate the pals from pokemon
They aren't in any legal danger zone wth nintendo, not anymore than anyone else. Nintendo could sue a plumber for wearing overalls on his jobsite with no legitimate claim, but throw enough lawsuits at him and he will probably stop.
Companies like nintendo just harass people through lawsuits even when they know there are no legal grounds.
The victory here all depends on if they have the funds to fight with nintendo or if theyre willing to put up with the harassment.

Nintendo does not own animals. They dont own little fighting monsters. They dont own the rights to any of that. And even if they managed to claim some of the designs are similar, nintendo doesnt own purple snakes or cats or chickens or dragons.

I think the most frustrating thing about all of this is nobody gives a fuck about any of the monsters, really in either of the games. they might as well be randomly generated.
nintendo has a few popular ones, but are any of them a reason people play pokemon? its about the world and gameplay loop and being a slave to nintendo. not about any particular monster thats just a cartoon drawing of an animal.
