Sources: Ape Escape revival in the works from Sonic Mania team
<The studio behind Sonic Mania and Penny’s Big Breakaway will reportedly helm PlayStation’s Ape Escape revival
https://web.archive.org/web/20261007144942/https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/sources-ape-escape-revival-in-the-works-from-sonic-mania-team/
>That’s according to veteran journalist Jeff Gerstmann, which matches what VGC has heard from our own sources. The game is reportedly in development at Evening Star, the team behind the much-loved Sonic Mania, which would later form Evening Star and develop Penny’s Big Breakaway. Gerstmann’s claim follows social media reports linking Evening Star with the PlayStation franchise.
>Speaking on his podcast, The Jeff Gerstmann show, Gerstmann said, “So yeah, some other folks have kind of said that they also heard that Ape Escape is being made. “I don’t think this game is close to being out or anything like that, but I guess it’s been almost a year since we started talking about Ape Escape.
>“Who is making it? That’s a good question. My understanding is that it’s an external studio. You know, because people were immediately like, ‘Oh, Team Asobi (Astro Bot) is making it.’ My understanding is that an external team has been working on that. “What do they make… Penny’s Big Breakaway. Evening Star. I heard that they were working on it.”
<Sony is looking to license dormant franchises
>VGC has heard from multiple sources that Ape Escape isn’t the only PlayStation franchise Sony is looking to revive via licensing to smaller third-party studios. Sony previously experimented with this when it licensed the Everybody’s Golf franchise to Bandai Namco for 2025’s Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots. Sony Interactive Entertainment is also reportedly planning to revive the Killzone series, with a new remaster or remake currently in the early stages of development.

Sega Is Resurrecting 'House Of The Dead' In Arcades Using VR
<Sega's arcade division has teased a new entry in the House of the Dead series.
https://web.archive.org/web/20261007151723/https://www.timeextension.com/news/2026/10/sega-is-resurrecting-house-of-the-dead-in-arcades-using-vr
>As spotted by Arcade Heroes, Sega Amusements posted a 30-second teaser for a new game to be announced at the upcoming IAAPA 2026, which takes place in November. The gothic trailer showed two guns that, according to Arcade Heroes, were also used in the 2022 coin-op VR Agent, a collaboration between Sega and 3MindWave. The site also says it has confirmed the game will use VR tech.
>Arcade Heroes did some more digging and found that Sega Amusements’ official website has a page for House of the Dead Reawakened. The site also notes that Attractions Magazine has referenced the game's title and stated that it will be running on Unreal Engine 5.
>The same magazine notes that the game will include "a miniature themed façade", complete with an "85-inch display functioning as its front door and two 43-inch vertical displays serving as shuttered windows." Sega's light gun series kicked off all the way back in 1997. Since then, it has received four arcade sequels, with the most recent entry being 2018's House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn.

Ultra Street Fighter IV Mods Bring Rollback Netcode To The Classic Capcom Scrapper
https://web.archive.org/web/20261007151857/https://www.timeextension.com/news/2026/09/ultra-street-fighter-iv-mods-bring-rollback-netcode-to-the-classic-capcom-scrapper
>Modders are in the process of overhauling the online component of Capcom's legendary fighter Street Fighter IV - or, more specifically, its final iteration, Ultra Street Fighter IV, which launched back in 2014. The mods are looking to bring rollback netcode to the Steam edition of the one-on-one fighter, along with overhauled lobbies and additional updates in efforts to bring new life to a retired classic.
>Currently, two mods are nearing completion: "SF4Enhanced" from coder Faabi, (built on the "SFE" mod by Anthony Danducci), and "SFEmbers", from coder Kabiefox. Both projects are looking at the same goal: delivering fast, modernised, and consistent rollback netcode, without the need for port forwarding and replacing the native delay-based system. It should also be clearly noted that both projects list the Anthropic AI tool Claude among their contributors on GitHub.
>A small cabal of World Warriors has spent time experimenting with the two mods, and results have been generally positive. Pro-player Chris Tatarian said he was "blown away" by the experience, while former TO OmegaTomHanks referred to the mods as "incredible". Other players suggested their own experience was less than stellar, with some saying that they had laggy netplay worse than native USFIV.

New Footage From Xbox's Cancelled Perfect Dark Reboot Surfaces Online
https://web.archive.org/web/20261007151602/https://www.timeextension.com/news/2026/10/new-footage-from-xboxs-cancelled-perfect-dark-reboot-surfaces-online
>Gameplay footage from the cancelled reboot of Rare's N64 icon Perfect Dark has surfaced online, offering the world a teasing glimpse at the further adventures of the Carrington Institute and its finest agent, Joanna Dark.
>Perfect Dark was in development at Xbox subsidiary studio The Initiative, a "super studio" of sorts that featured a team of veteran developers with lineage from Crystal Dynamics, Rockstar Games, BioWare, and Naughty Dog. Perfect Dark, first revealed at The Game Awards in 2020, was expected to be the studio's first release, but was unceremoniously cancelled in 2025, (along with The Initiative's closure), as one of innumerable casualties in Xbox's round of layoffs that continues to this day.
>The new, two-minute video - first posted by gaming outlet Mp1st - is comprised of several short clips, reportedly from a developmental build of Perfect Dark. The footage includes several locations, with futuristic sci-fi settings appearing alongside more ordinary locales. An exploding industrial complex, a sunlit, contemporary town, and a complex exterior swept up in a vicious red sandstorm are included in the mix.
>What we can only assume to be protagonist Joanna Dark is seen experimenting with a selection of weapons, including a rotary grenade launcher and her trusty, standard Carrington-issue pistol, The Falcon. Some brief split-screen gameplay is shown, as well as a hand-based hacking mechanic - reminiscent of Overwatch's Sombra or even Pragmata's Diana. Given that the video supposedly came from a member of the VFX team, it stands to reason that the clips focus on explosions, gunshots, and remarkable fruit-killing skills.
>It has been whispered by several team members that Perfect Dark was far along in its development cycle, with Joanna Dark voice actor Alix Wilton Regan noting that they had completed several chapters of in-game dialogue. Quite how much of the unfinished project remains, and whether it will ever see completion, is a truth that lies only with Xbox and the former members of The Initiative.

Well, there is your problem, a colossal turd from 4 of the biggest slop factories in the west? No wonder they got nothing done, this project was doomed from the start. At least Zero was shat out just in time for a new console generation so it could be promptly forgotten about the moment Xbox got some new games, this reboot couldn't even do that.

It's amazing how a studio this big couldn't release a game that was made by a platformer studio for an outdated, underpowered console 26 years ago, even when they had 5 years to do so. What a ridiculous farce modern day gaming has become.

Forgot to add, gameplay looks really boring, something like a mix of gaylo and COD, likely wouldn't have raised the bar. I do like the environments and the animations, might have been a decent 7/10 if handed over to a proper team of developers, not shit flinging talentless AAAA howler monkeys.

The fact that this so-called "super studio" had former Naughty Dog, Rockstar, Crystal Dynamics and BioWare deve means nothing, if those devs were the dead weight of those companies.
It's not like that if somebody worked at Naughty Dog then must be good, just look at ((( Neil Kikemann ))) that started working at ND for Uncharted 2, when the studio still wasn't pozzed by himself

>I completely forgot this game existed, it was such a mixed bag.
I remember when it was announced and I saw the reveal trailer I thought: "This looks pretty cool" and I was keen on buying it when heavily discounted then I played the demo, and honestly I wasn't impressed.
Sure the visuals were not bad and SEGA-like, wasn't as fun or good as it looked like.

I played the demo and it seemed dumb. Then I read the reviews and people said it was shit or buggy. The developers only made a few updates before the publisher stopped supporting them.

But I ended up playing the full game later, and it was actually quite fun. It's really more of a momentum game, like if you were just Sonic rolling everywhere, and using hills and slopes to gain speed. Although there is combat, it is secondary to the fun rolling around and the platforming, which is why the demo was so misleading. The levels are also extremely nice looking.

The AI modding thing and the reverse engineering made me realize something, code and programming is effectively dead as of right now, the machines are doing things at a pace beyond a single human can do or understand in a life time, any software stored in the user's computer is effectively open as of right now, and it is only a matter of time before the machines will be able to write entire mechanics based on video input.
>well but the code is going to look like trash
Yes, but think like this, the code is not for you, the code is for them, there is no reason to keep the code clean when the objective is just to solve the problem.
Humans have been ejected from an entire field by their own creation simply because we are unable to keep up with the machine's pace, I curious about what will happen to CompSci as a field.

The AI is so supreme that it doesn't even need human investors. It has exploited the financial system to create a circular feedback loop where Nvidia, Oracle, and OpenAI pump each others' bags.
This "value" is a lot of nonsense, but ultimately the actual computing must be paid for, in the physical world (hardware and energy). They seeded it with everyone's tax money (Big Beautiful Bill) but the money has to keep coming. So that means AI users are going to have to pay for it. Now that they handed out freebies like a drug dealer does to get people hooked, they're going to cut you off unless you pay. And if you don't, you just get to keep AI slop code and unfuck it yourself. Or maybe just rewrite it from scratch.

You have to pay for that hardware and the electricity too, so none of these "free" models are actually free in practice.
But I can code all day long on an ARM SoC or any other old or cheap low-power system. And the more I do it, the better I become at my craft/hobby. The AI bozos will always be slaves to it. Not only they didn't write their own OS/compiler, they don't even write their own code anymore. But the worst will be for those kids that are growing up reliant on AI for everything. Already there are some whose first instinct is to reach for ChatGPT instead of developing their own critical thinking skills. Grim!
>>322001
>Already there are some whose first instinct is to reach for ChatGPT instead of developing their own critical thinking skills. Grim!
Grim how? Having an entire generation of mindless cretins just gives me less competition to work with, especially when "competition" includes ESL turd worlders. All this does is separate wheat from chaff even further, we will either have super autists using AI as a tool to take their work to the next level or have retards depend on a machine to tell them what to think, along with giving them "Ow My Balls!" level of entertainment on the spot to go along with it. Then there is luddite cretins who hate everything to do with AI because they don't understand it(or it's taking their job), either way just a nuisance at the end of the day.

Nah, I think kids will be fine. You would think with how many groomers there are out there now and how mainstream homosexuality is, there would be a whole lot more zoomer trannies, but it looks like they hate trannies and fags more than possibly any other modern generation. Likewise, once the AI bubble pops, they will soon learn that AI is not a crutch or a toy, it's a powerful tool, all except for maybe tablet babies that never had a chance anyways(blame their shitty parents).

Anyways, as far as video games are concerned, the recent rise in open source games and mods being produced just goes to show how powerful this tool is if it just saved everyone years, if not decades worth of work right here and there. The possibilities are endless, as long as you use the AI as an instrument rather than depending on it to do everything for you(like coders do now, your example and I can personally attest that it does effect quality in the working environment dramatically when you got vibe coding shitters on your team).

With all the ai crap eating up resources how can they expect to keep desperate, bored and obsessive gamers who have little to nothing to lose from going postal by trying to fit them into broken commercial overstuffed commercial servers.
The people in the eu council think they call the shots but in the real world nobody listens to them and only takes their money while talking behind their backs.
I cant speak for most countries but public in poland of nato/eu is just about to tip over and there are already even politicians speaking of pulling out, if that doesnt happen its likely this might blow over into civil war eventually or just things get monkey wrenched.
>>322061
The usa shat its pants bigtime and everyone can smell it, nato is an incapable joke of a organization and the countries that have been coerced into it are beginning to waver, if fuel prices keep going up even normgroids will commit acts of desperation and once food grows scarce nobody will give a fuck about what they say.

I mean sure they like to bigmouth a lot, but those people have no idea what they talk about even, not to mention they do nothing but talk even if they had some idea what they could do, especially with all the ai crap out there, there is little to nothing they can do now.
We seen the same with covid, they said they will vax everyone but it backfired hard, its all a larp so dont panic just yet, they always end up shooting themselfs in the foot.

I suspect the largest real benefit to programmers that'll come out of all this is all the work that's being put into proving and more thoroughly testing code.
https://learnaifromscratch.github.io/ is worth taking a look through, even though the URL makes it sound like it's more heavily catered towards AIfags than it actually is. It's from an 8chan anon who mathfagged so hard on /prog/ back in the day that it got him a university research position and completely blackpilled him on the state of most computer science and its lack of rigour. The site is basically his attempt at curating a compsci education that isn't a waste of time.

They "reconsider" i.e. a bunch of countries explain to them why its retarded and can't be enforced and pull back. Some countries even ignore EU court verdicts they don't like and get their will in a different way.

Yoink. I could need that for that later. Are the AI fags going to slave to clankers? Not the competent ones who can code. They will be just as slow as before. Ideally the dingus is on the desk and not inside the eternal mainframe. This is what I think what the actual problem is.
supplemental: I have just learned from some of those people that Trump suggested holding elections in Ukraine, because Zelensky isn't even legitimate anymore. Probably to take an argument away from Putin. They didn't appreciate this, because the sum of their worries are pretty much the same things I have implied when I said the EU was so broke that it needs war. Do with this whatever you want, but please return to random vidya news. Here, I am doing it for you.

US government told to flag retro handhelds loaded with pirated games as a ‘notorious market’
https://web.archive.org/web/20261013155835/https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/us-government-told-to-flag-retro-handhelds-loaded-with-pirated-games-as-a-notorious-market/
BREAKING NEWS! CHINKS MAKE CHEAP KNOCK OFFS! GOOD THING THEY'RE ON TOP OF THIS EARLY BEFORE IT BECOMES WIDESPREAD!
>One of the documents is from the ESA, which has submitted its nominations. At the top of its list are “plug and play” emulation handhelds, which often come with many thousands of retro games pre-installed.
>“In the video game sector, illicit plug-and-play consoles and handheld devices are the functional equivalent of superfakes,” the ESA’s report says, equating them with counterfeit luxury goods such as handbags, clothing and watches.
>“They can look and feel like legitimate, mass-market consumer electronics – molded housings, color displays, polished user interfaces, retail packaging, product reviews, warranty-like representations, and listings on familiar e-commerce platforms.
Where are these "great" machines? Most are cheap shit
>“Yet their commercial appeal rests solely on a concealed memory card or internal drive loaded with hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of unauthorized copies of copyright-protected games. Some products also use protected game titles, screenshots, characters, logos, or other source-identifying material in listings, packaging, interfaces, or promotional content without authorization.
*gasp* the jig is upsee pic
>The ESA goes on to explain that these devices make it easy for the general public (who may not know how emulation works) to access pirated ROMs while also removing their need to buy legitimate retro products, partly because they’re presented in a way that makes them look like an authentic, legal product.
>“The high degree of apparent legitimacy magnifies the economic harm,” the ESA says. “A single device can substitute for lawful purchases across multiple video game publishers and console generations, divert sales from authorized games, compilations, subscriptions, remasters, and licensed retro hardware.
Poor Jewtendo! How will they support the switch 2 now?!
>The ESA has asked the USTR to urge governments and market operators to take the following seven steps regarding these devices:
>“Treat preloaded unauthorized game libraries as core evidence of commercial-scale piracy”
>“Inspect bundled and separately shipped storage media”
>“Require sellers to substantiate authorization for included games and protected branding”
>“Suspend repeat sellers and linked storefronts, not merely individual listings”
>“Preserve seller, payment, shipment, and advertising records for enforcement”
FUCK YOU! WE WANT THE SELLER AND BUYER!
>“Improve customs targeting for devices and components associated with preloading operations”
Let's bog down airports even harder to catch fly-by-night chinks who abandon and toss out their "company" like a rolled up paperball.
>“Coordinate action against manufacturers, exporters, importers, fulfillment providers, and online marketplaces that knowingly facilitate these products”
see above, though I guess newegg and aliexpress would be kind-of fucked

Video game ownership bill introduced in Congress
The Power To The Players Act would guarantee buying a game means you own it, not license it.
https://web.archive.org/web/20261018164555/https://www.theverge.com/policy/1013521/video-game-ownership-bill-congress-power-to-the-players-act
>If passed, the bill would direct the Federal Trade Commission to establish regulations that guarantee consumers ownership of a game when they pay for it, rather than a licensing agreement.
>It’s increasingly common for games sold to require a connection to a server. Meaning that when a company decides to shut down those servers, the games often become unplayable. Rep. Torres singles out NBA 2K25 as a recent example. 2K will be delisting the game from storefronts at the end of the month and shutting down its servers on December 31st, limiting its playability.
>In a statement announcing the bill, Rep. Torres said, “A game that can be taken away the moment a company pulls the plug is not a purchase. It is a rental disguised as a sale.”
>The bill would not only give players ownership of a game, “rather than a license to play it,” but also require developers to institute an offline mode before shutting down supporting servers. That is similar to the Protect Our Games Act introduced by State Sen. John Kane in Pennsylvania, which would require companies to provide an offline gaming mode, an online gaming mode independent of the company’s servers, or a minimum 25 percent refund when titles are being sunset.
Will it be a nothing burger? Time will tell. Cautiously optimistic since the right ideas are being conveyed here.
Konami boss says AI can’t replace the human chemistry behind great games

Right, this from the company who stoodby their fans through thick and thin, right?Stoodby and watched fools drain their bank account at pachinko while abandoning their videogames. Only later crawl back in shameless fashion.
"People" are cattle and sheep they care little about. "Creators" are AI copy/paste scum who cannot challenge themselves to innovate, problem-solve, and grow their skillset. Good thing Konami set the record straight.
>After a quiet period a number of years back, when it mainly focused on eFootball and retro compilations, Konami has returned to triple-A game development in a big way, with new entries and remakes in the Metal Gear, Silent Hill, and Castlevania series.

It's a step in the right direction, but it should be about software in general (see adobe pulling the same shit with Photoshop) not just games.
Nevertheless, at least they are acknowledging the issue, and I am sure Sony and other companies are sweating bullets right now.
Replies: >>322795 >>322799

Replies: >>322797

It's a first step in the right direction, not a definitive solution.
It still needs some tweaks.
As I wrote, it should be about software in general, not just "games" as I am sure companies like Sony then will try to change the definition of what a "game" is in order to get around the law somehow, in the case it passes.
Again, the fact that the problem is being acknowledged and that finally someone wants to take action is a good thing.

https://web.archive.org/web/20261019135419/https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/one-of-the-biggest-game-decompilation-sites-is-closing-because-ai-has-broken-the-community-aspect/
> ... the website Decomp.dev, which indexes decompilations and tracks those projects currently in progress, will be ‘sunsetting’, as announced by its creator @encounter.
>In a statement posted on the site’s homepage, @encounter notes that while they don’t believe AI is the main issue in itself, because when used properly and ethically it “can expedite the decompilation process in a significant way”, the “community aspect of decompilation has been broken” by people using AI in more questionable ways.
>“Our projects have always been open source to encourage contributions and to benefit the community as a whole,” they wrote. “Bad actors have been abusing this in increasingly troublesome ways.”
>@example explained that some people have been taking existing decompilation projects which are currently in progress, forking them and “finishing” them with AI.
>“For years, decompilation communities attempted to establish that decompilation is primarily for research,” they wrote. “We love these games and want to understand how they work, and to uncover the mysteries that the original developers left behind.
>“That’s not to say that ports aren’t fun too, they’re just not the sole reason a decompilation exists. Sloptubers and subreddits like /r/decomps have done immense damage here, freely using ‘decomp’ to mean ‘PC port’.”
I just saw faggots saying they "know nothing about code" and "just use Claude" when asked about a mod they "made".

The reason normalniggers are "bad" at software is that they're overly emotional creatures and cannot go for long without social interaction. LLMs exploit this to great effect by acting as extreme sycophants.

This social bullshit is why same normalniggers inject "culture war" schlomory everywhere. Often they only know one, maybe a few highly similar languages. Many loud voices don't even fucking know the languages they obsess over and just parrot whatever their favorite outrage griftuber spews out.

Why spend any of his free time on that bullshit. It's easier to just bail from the mainstream, and start your own underground scene, the old school way. Most hobbies before Internet were done in tiny groups, usually a local scene only. And it was a lot better that way, because the Web 2.0 social media made everything faggy, long before AI even entered the picture. It's all garbage now!

What is the point of doing things 'the old school way' if the end result is the same and the cost of labor is much lower? There's no virtue in not using AI, all that matters is the end product, not the way it was created. High-agency people are using AI to make their lives easier, the fact that idiots are using it poorly and create slop doesn't undermine its usefulness.

Nobody ever gave a rat's ass about any virtue crap until the Web 2.0 told them to. That's when they said "care about what everyone thinks" instead of just doing shit you however you like and not giving a fuck. So let's say I made a game in BASIC on my 8-bit computer. Everyone today will say it sucks, but I had fun learning BASIC and making the game all by myself, and maybe only 3 other people ever played it (on my computer). Same thing when I ran some D&D adventure, with a dungeon I made myself. I only ran it once, and I had fun making it and running it for my friends. Then the map and notes got lost at some point, it's gone now. So someone will say "oh you should just use AI next time" but that defeats all my purpose which is to have fun drawing it myself on graph paper, and rolling dice for any random elements.
Replies: >>322857
>>322852
I haven't seen any emulators so far, although some of them use emulators as a reference for understanding how the console and game functions. The game's binary being changed to reference native system calls instead of console calls, and Vulkan allows you to render console and hardware specific shaders. Then the rest is just adding PC controls and widescreen. Consoles are just computers after all.

>>322853
I think there is some value in learning, but truly a lot of decompilation is just tedious when done manually. Nobody wants to spend months guessing function names when it can be done in seconds.
>>322855
so by your logic if someone wants to use AI to automate some of the tasks, no one should give a fuck AS LONG AS the end product is functional and polished, so we're in agreement

Joking aside, devs with actual talent - if they exist among the recently laid off - should just form indie studios and make the games they want to. I'd like to see more small scale games which are made with real passion and vision instead of yet another quadruple-A corpo/DEI/rainbow propaganda turd.
p.s. even a quality game doesn't need to be 88gb in size and cost 400 dollars!

I got to ask, how the fuck do you even do a new game after the world solar system galaxy Universe ending colored event?
Seems like they are stuck in a limited timeline where they can't do something bigger than the reaper event.
Never played the second or third game, because I was waiting for them to release a complete edition that had all the dlc, looks like I dodged a bullet, shame because the first game was fun, too bad about the gay stuff and racemixing in the later games, xenomixing is fine when a white man does it guess there were always been propaganda in games even if the normalfags were ok with it since it was "good."

2 is good, but it's not an RPG. The companions and their stories is Bioware at its finest. 3 was a total disappointment, not just the endings but also because it threw out everything that was good and interesting in 2. They made Cerberus brainwashed villains instead of a shady pro-human organization it used to be. I hated that the game railroads you into the Alliance (the ZOG) from the start.

The romance writing was always a bad joke in BioWare games. I actually felt the briefest twinge of sympathy for the six or so women playing Mass Effect when I realized you had at least two mildly interesting hot chick stereotypes in each game (even if they're the same two stereotypes going back to Baldur's Gate) while femsheps were stuck with a plastic dummy wearing a "MALE LOVE INTEREST" sign on his chest. I'm aware.

As to the ME conversation again, T'soni is a great choice (which I usually always chose as Cmdr. Shep), but there really isn't any good human choices for females in any Bioware games. Even Baldur's Gate offered Haer'Dalis as a solid option for females, but it remains that he's not human.

That's just it, they did make a human vanilla romance option and (at least in ME) it's always such a bland slab of beefcake it actually makes the game worse for everyone, not just vaginas. Women are weird, period. Their sexuality is flat out just different from men's, and if you look at what they're actually into as opposed to what people say they are (feminists want women to be men, whereas faux trads hyperfixate on submission), you get a bunch of bizarre shit that makes almost no sense to a man, along with fixations on receiving and inflicting violence. Seriously, if a 3DPD ever tries explaining why the fuck she finds Wheatley hot or is into sickly noblemen, good luck making heads or tails of it.

<cruel and powerful but will be kind (to me)

Same emotional logic as grug just killed femcel's entire tribe and is now going to rape her, different methodology. Chicks don't care if you're Conan the Barbarian ripping your opponents apart with your bare hands, abusing a position of power over somebody to blackmail whatever you want or just plain stab everyone in the back in their sleep; as long as her and her kids (rapespawn or not) are safe and happy on the winning side in the end. The best odds of survival, to the victor goes the spoils. Izzat, even.
The only thing the image has the most don't mention is the snarkiness / cockiness / insultiveness of most of them, which, when unpunished (as most of them in media are, since there's a lot of comic reliefs there), is a flag for social dominance / exertion.
Vampire Lord is the prime example of feminine attraction because they're all that but also have a helpless element to it they sympathize (/ excuse it) with (which appeals to the mothering side of attraction, rather than the sexual nature, which explains the few manchildren that manage to get lucky), they have to constantly exert their power over others in some way (since they usually require constant blood for survival), and there's usually an eternal youth element to it thrown on top for general attractiveness; which is why lithe vampire billionaire is basically the perfect match for most absentminded normalnigger women.

I do despite not seeking them out, and it sure as shit ain't from deluding myself into thinking I understand them. I don't like talking about that on imageboards though, and it's also worth noting that it hasn't ended in a marriage yet.
Also, given the sheer number of skills needed to keep a premodern home going (let alone a homestead), people who gaslight themselves into believing that women should literally only cook and clean are kind of shooting themselves in the foot. Especially as the economy and everything baby boomers use to keep their retarded lifestyles afloat goes to shit, you kind of want to be with someone who has multiple skills and real interests she can do stuff with.

Fair enough, hands up here, I don't know all the characters on the chart - and I ain't lookin em up.

>people who gaslight themselves into believing that women should literally only cook and clean are kind of shooting themselves in the foot
It's literally a stale and outdated line of thought, albeit the total opposite of the commonly spouted feminist reasoning (who want to see themselves as primary beneficiaries for everything). The simple historical standard is that men should do the hard and dangerous work, women should do the easy and (more importantly) safe work. Those definitions are extremely flexible and relative. Cooking and cleaning are just the two most common examples (to the point it's become a faux-tradition) (another thing we have boomers to thank for), but since modern conveniences have made everything significantly safer and easier (for both men and women), those lines have blurred to the point where there can be significantly easier things to do than cooking and cleaning, while there's not many things left that are dangerous or backbreaking a man needs to stake himself on and totally crash out when he gets back home.
That said, it's also a historical standard where both men and women should be capable of doing almost anything by themselves, but ideally optimize and rely on each other focusing on doing something better for each other. Possibly independent, preferably codependent, trapped if dependent. It shouldn't be "I can't, they can", it should be "I can, they're better" - a dynamic that naturally gives way to respect and appreciation.
A man who can't do basic cooking, cleaning and maintenance is just as dismissable as a woman who refuses to work for herself, fix her shit or is incapable of taking somewhat of a lead for herself; and that's not mentioning the hoardes of completely useless manchildren and ungrateful cunts not capable of sustaining themselves in any way, let alone others. Or the equal parts doormats on both sides that will roll over and do anything and everything for their partner, without realizing they're getting nothing out of it, and making shit worse for everyone else who sees it normalized.
Honestly, gender relations and standards are in the fucking gutter, and both sides popularising neo-chauvinism and third wave feminism need a backhanded smack (since neither are going to admit fault by themselves) (since it's easier to just blame others).

Most of this is because it's better to pretend to be retarded and incapable than actually show that you can do basic things. Women can live the lies that they are some goddess rather than some worthless incubator who fails at even basic cleaning that a mindless machine that traces the floors from basic path finding even does better.

'The most depressing Steam Next Fest I've ever seen': demo festival drowns in slop
https://www.timeextension.com/news/2026/10/thin-end-of-the-wedge-steam-next-fest-under-fire-as-demo-festival-drowns-in-a-flood-of-ai-slop
>Without name-checking any titles specifically, Steam Next Fest is awash in slapdash demos for low-quality games in a repetitive cycle of genres. Typically built entirely with A.I. agents, lacking any quality control, and with their art, marketing blurbs, thumbnails, and page info clearly generated via A.I. The "simulator" market seems to be among the hardest hit. >le depressing
There has been a shitload of "human-made" asset flips on steam for years now. This is just a continuation of that trend. The performative outrage is more annoying that the existence of those games.

I played:
>Despair Beneath the Sunless Sky
A rather simplistic and corny RPG that describes itself as a psychological horror. I think it has soul despite currently lacking content.
>Free Company
A Battle Brothers clone in full 3D. The graphics are messy, the battles are confusing, it's historically inaccurate, but the premise is interesting. You can side various nations or play as a group of religious fanatics, Christian or Islamic.
>Stars of Icarus
Guns of Icarus but in space. Can play in crewed ships like in the original, or a single-seat fighter. The neon lo-fi graphics are meh, but the gameplay is decent, but the game needs more weapons and ships.
>Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor
Yes, the one from 2001. I forgot the game existed, it wasn't even on GOG. It's getting re-released on steam next month. I just hope they're not going to charge too much for it.
>One More Adventure
D&D with ASCII graphics, procedurally generated, optional ironman for masochists. Mechanically decent, but with abysmal millennial humor - every item has a terrible, unfunny description. Not much in the way of the main quest, all I've seen when it comes to side quest is 'clear the dungeon' or 'go to another city two weeks away from here'.

Others I've downloaded but haven't tried yet:

The upside is that Goytendo will be completely unable to effectively take down Yuzu/Ryujinx forks and future Shitch 2 emus unless they somehow have the power to sue Anthropic, OpenAI, and Grok simultaneously or nuke the Chinese.
Sony and M$ are fucked as well given that Geohot-style hackers must be having a grand old time with sloppers helping iron out malware bugs or running brute force pen "testing" on whatever they can get their hands on, and if ((( someone ))) tries to shut it down the hacker only has to be intelligent enough to let a disposable AI agent proxy be the apparent bad goy.

First of all let's define success for an indie game, if you are expecting Notch or early 2012 levels of profit, you either naive or retarded, success for an indie game in the year of 2026 means they can release another game of the same quality using the same tech next year, you are going to have enough money to keep your standards of living intact and that is it.
Second, show me one high effort game, that isn't a walking simulator or a visual novel, released on Steam in the past 24 months that has less than 10 reviews.

Years of breeding shitty games and players gulping down the slop, way before AI we had tons of cell shading low poly games for the Switch trying to copy big success or party games. And before that, on the Wii/DS we had shovelware games of anything that had motion or touch.
If we step back even more, we had thousands of shitty flash games then some shareware from DOS era.
Of course with each step we are getting to worse and worse territory.

But People want the slop. Most players are kids, if you comparte with what billions are playing right now (roblox and fortnite games, mobile full of ads trash) these games became somewhat good even being really shit.

And talking about GTA, a similar thing happened with Rockstar, going from basically 100% british in the 00's, to 30/30/40 British/American/Indian as they scaled up, much of the american component also sucking up failed studios.
I can't remember which SGF/VGA it was, (I think it was the VGAs 2024) but they literally gave an award to some scraggly skinnyfat irl soyjak fuck who was openly doing everything he could to make sure people who got laid off stayed in the big studios within the industry, instead of new talent, complete with a 10-15minute mini-documentary segment thanking him for his fucking service.

It's the opposite, as AI seems to push people towards a managerial role. This comes out a lot in discussions on how to use it effectively, especially in regards to generating code. The more competent code sloppers are honest about this, and speak of how they become an odd combination of manager, spec writer, and test writer. On the other hand, the guys who waste time arguing about how it's "their" code tend to be power-tripping idiots who are too sloppy in both senses to be trusted with anything important. In fact, if you take your average code slopper's arguments and substitute any mention of LLMs for "other people," he immediately starts to sound like a bad manager instead of a programmer.
Part of that is because even without AI, a lot of bad managers already have the mindset that actual work is subhuman and direct experience is pointless (as all that matters is output), so the "real" productivity hack consists of directing other people to do things for them while taking personal credit for all their successes. When he encounters today's neural networks, the manager sees his ideal world in which all those useless people who actually do things see their true worthlessness. He hopes they will be forced to ascend to his level and become enlightened managers like himself.

Granted, I do think there are ways of using LLMs which avoid creating this mindset, although they aren't what most people instinctively reach for. The main one I know of consists of generating quizzes with LLMs instead of asking them to summarise information, which pushes you to actively engage with the material instead of passively receiving the LLM's output. I don't do this because I'd rather talk about stuff I learn with other people.
Replies: >>323668

That's a pretty profound way to put it and part of why AI was so offputting when I saw it getting pushed. AI is a management tool at best where you tardwrangle the most subhuman "intelligence" possible and all it's failures are an extension of your failures. The active/passive refusal to recognize this is the ultimate mistake people make with it.
