BAZED :DDD!
I didn't get the whole Gondola meme when I first saw it, I just kinda thought it was a Quirky spinn-off from the Spurdo maymays.
Then someone wrote a really good explanation of him.
>Gondola represents those who are fully aware and "Plugged into" what is going on around him, and must take it as it is. For as he has eyes to see, and feet to move from one place to the next, he has no arms with which to implement change, hold onto anything material, nor even fight back against that which attacks him.
In this way he is an existential representative of all anons who may be fully aware of the cruelty and injustice of life and of others, but is, (modsley,) powerless to effect real change.

It's a really beautiful metaphor, in a melancholy way.

There are a few more explanations of Gondola.
>Gondola was not a mistake

>Gondolas are relaxed, harmless creatures that observe their environment. They rarely interfere anything, but just keep observing. They rarely talk, just look around and smile. This makes them very different from other creatures such as spurdo, that feel, Pepe, Yoba, etc.

>Gondola is the silent walker. Having no hands he embodies the Taoist principle of wu-wei (non-action) while his smiling facial expression shows his utter and complete acceptance of the world as it is.

Another explanation:

>Being the earliest instance of a post-ironic meme, Gondola reveals the path that lies between oblivion and nihilism. As Laozi says of the Tao in the Tao Te Ching, Gondola “acts without doing anything; and teaches without saying anything; things arise and it lets them come; things disappear and it lets them go; has but doesn't possess; acts but doesn't expect; when its work is done, it forgets it. That is why it lasts forever.” Gondola is the silent observer.

A third explanation, related to the one above, says something about Spurdo Spärde being an ironic corruption of Pedobear, with several more iterations of ironic corruptions, until it arrives at Gondola, which at that point has looped back to becoming completely unironic and innocent.

The video in >>>/r9k/3833 is good too. Also serves as a collection of gondolas.

Nice Gondola-ish GET
Great post.
I have seen these too, and while I really like the last one you posted, they all are good interpretations.
Like any good art, the artist attempts the evocative rather than handholding, and the art is then more universal as it fits more individual frameworks.

Another thing, kind of unrelated to your post:
I recall one time on /v/ where Mark Mann pitched the idea of selling Gondola-themed merchandise, and everyone got angry at him. Years later, now you have fuckers like Kommandostore selling Gondola plushes and whatever piece of shit runs gondola.lol pushing some Gondola-themed cryptocurrency.

AHH... THAT was the one I saw.
Not in R9K tho.
It was that year however which is probably why my recollection of it was fuzzy.

There's so much romance in that, but I have a hard time imagining myself in an rpg party. I can't stand being subjected to other's dumb ideas of what to do or where to go, so unless the party is led by an extraordinary character, I wouldn't take part in it.
I wonder if anons could ever achieve rpg party dynamics irl.

This seems interesting.
What do you regard as "rpg party dynamics"?

By that I mean what you see in the tabletop games: Party going together, following a plot, somehow managing to be a functional group despite having a fully democratic structure.
If a wizard magically turned 8 anons in this board into d&d class archetypes, and then gathered them and gave them a quest; I'm pretty sure it wouldn't last 5 minutes before tuning into an unmanageable chaos.

He seems to be referring to human contact and normalities such as where to stop for dinner, increased to scale.

My old group of IRL friends had 1 guy who was fake as fuck but managed to get pussy once, so he'd be the bard "official" party leader, and his best friend was super dark triad but managed to be like everyone's best friend, so I guess he'd be some kinda "shadow" party leader warlock?
Then there'd be like 2-3 other goons (2 orc warriors ig, 1 rogue), and me.

But the thing is we were all retarded outcasts so I feel like that doesn't really fit the vision.

Instead, seems like it should be more along the lines of a group just going on vacation (if we want to keep it somewhat realistic) with a bunch of other retards, but facing various weird challenges, danger, and each of us having pretty diverse skillsets?

(2nd Poster ITT)
I think Camping would be a good "Venue".
I think, having lots of experience with this sort of thing, both involved and vicariously, that as long as the group didn't cleave to IB norms, and instead dealt with the real, operative world, they'd do Ok.
Key to this is having leadership that is tolerant to inexperience and supportive of the group.
Seems like it'd make a decent thread, much like /rp/ on other chans.
ya Gotta have a good MC/GM for those though.
Hell, there's even a DICE ROLL format here.
