I've been working on collecting every gondola in existence. I have been focusing on doing my best to make sure I get the source audio for each of the files as well as I got fed up with gondola videos with nice tracks that no one could find the source to. My collection is incomplete but now seems like a good time to start sharing it. I ask that if you save these please preserve the file names in some way. One day when I deem my collection as close to "completion" as possible I'll burn thousands of gondolas to DVDs and archive them for future generations.
If anyone sees a gondola ITT and can provide more accurate information surrounding its origins please speak up. It would be nice to add information such as the artists name/handle, but I have to be realistic in my mass collection and can't personally research each piece independently. Also if you have a higher resolution/higher fidelity copy of a gondola I posted do share. This is still a work in progress. Maybe in the future I'll sort them into a genre folder structure and upload them to anonfile. For now they're going to be in no particular order.
here's a few
Does anyone here save the koronba and speder2 gondolas that I made? I forgot to archive them and now they are lost, hopefully still in some anons' drives.
Are you the one maintaining the archive at https://gondola.stravers.net/ ?
No, I did not know of this. It'll be quite helpful. I was just working through saving jewtube playlist videos and sifting through the comments to find the source for each song.
You can always share any knowledge you find with the guy there, go through his archive and add gondolas he doesn't have. Hes always looking for song sources and more gondolas
Yeah I'll need to get around to finding and learning to use some software to check for duplicate files and compare. I take pretty long breaks between working on the collection so it may take years to flesh out.
I remember something called fx file explorer having a duplicate item search but i wouldn't know how well it works. We got the years anyways, were are we gonna go?
As a fellow archivist I would recommend that you don't use DVD as your medium for long term preservation. Archival grade DVD only lasts for 100 years if I recall correctly and the stuff you would be buying at the store will probably last 20 years tops. I would recommend a combination of uploading your collection onto archive.org, a few torrent trackers, and preserving a few backups on m-disk (m-disk claims to last for 1000 years which is the longest I know of for any commercial storage medium). I would also recommend looking into data hoarding community's as they often have good tips on best practices with hardware and software even if they're mostly retards on reddit.
I've read DVD's will last quite a long time under proper conditions. Even at 20 years it's still the best and cheapest way to archive content. Online hosting is very unstable, no way I'm trusting archive.org to stay online for decades, and trusting torrents to remain seeded is even more silly. M-disk is an option, but I vaguely recall reading that the claims are exaggerated and it's kind of a meme. I'll probably still consider it one day depending on how much more it's going to cost.
Whether or not archive.org or a torrent will stay up forever doesn't matter. You should instead treat it as a public extra backup on top of your normal ones that doesn't cost you much, if anything at all, to set up. The benefit of sharing these files publicly doesn't hurt either especially when considering that other people downloading these gondola's will effectively preserve them even longer.
I haven't seen this one posted, and it's my favorite, so here it goes.
Sucks that my 100 Gondola collection got fucked when my PC bricked.
These are probably already on some archive but it's all I have after the brick
Whoops, didn't mean to repost the forest one. Trying to cross-check with the thread to avoid duplicates.
Another dupe slipped through, flooded one.
And here's all of the seasons separately in one post, for the sake of set completion.
Got some Gondolas for you, OP.
Sometimes zzzchan eats my files, for some reason. I just hope they go through this time.
