The Right-wing turn on 4chan can be directly attributed to a series of raids orchestrated by Stormfront beginning around 2010. I personally remember being on 420chan back then and someone making a post letting users know that the day the post was made was when Stormfront was beginning said raids. I dismissed it at the time because it was "pissing in an ocean of piss" but the raids were undeniably effective in shifting the culture of the website in the longterm eventually leading to the alt-right later in the decade. /pol/ used to be Ron Paul esque lolbertarians prior to said stormfaggotry

What's funny is that /pol/ used to laugh about being the jest before 2016.
