Unfortunately it's not all the guy being dominated by amazons. This is admittedly one of the best stories.

I need to reread dragon half. Didn't it get an OVA?
Replies: >>165

Yes but it was cancelled mostly due to the 90s economical collapse of Japan. There are only two OVA and iirc it end after the first fight with the demon prince but it was good and had original gags that weren't in the manga. Sadly it's not the only OVA from the 90s that got cancelled out of nowhere.

Yes, about MTG specifically. Some anons have been put off by that fact, but I've never been a big Magic or TCG person and still thoroughly have enjoyed it. There's even progress in its romance plot(s [justice for my girl Yakumo])
The focus of the story is still very much on the characters and their development and growth as people, not just their growth in their aspiration to git gud at the game itself.
There's a oneshot you can find to give it a feel if you like. You dont need to know anything about TCGs or MTG to know if youll like it based on the oneshot

It’s a mixed bag, as it excels on so many aspects so much, but doesn’t deliver on many others.
The art, fights, monster design is easily one of the best in manga history, closest thing to Berserk level, but the world and story and characters are very average, it starts with an interesting mystery, the first chapter was easily 10/10, but then you discover there wasn’t a mystery at all. I still wonder why he made it an all female cast, because the story didn’t convince me, there’s little ecchi, no yuri at all. But their designs were all very good albeit many looked the same.
But despite of everything yes you should read it.

Hakumei & Mikochi
FLCL
Witch and Familiar

I've never saved any of these pics. They've always embedded themselves in my brain.

The first is just because it's so utterly ridiculous/"lol randumb." The circumstances to have a beetle look up at a stool in wonderment is beautifully absurd.

The FLCL is because the ending jarred me so much. How calmly he murders his father, and then to suddenly go to "Hey kid, it's O.K. to kill your father." I just found so haunting and eerie. It's always creeped me out so much, and I feel I've never been able to appropriately express why.

The last is from Itou Hachi, same author as >>818 (The Nice Neighborhood Lady is the English title, iirc). I remember reading some of >>818 until I got to that point and thought, "I legit think I'm going to go to jail if I read any more of this manga."
Itou Hachi's works are interesting, to say the least. It feels like the final episodes of Evangelion, where you're not there for the plot or animation or whatever, you're there for Hideaki Anno's complete psychotic break. Likewise, you don't read Witch and Familiar for the "lol, funny anime Eeyore," you're there for moments like picrel, where you think, "Ain't no way the mangaka wouldn't devote a half page single panel with that soulless a look unless they weren't going through it themselves."
Also because more and more, that quote "Death is salvation" rings more and more true with each passing day. It's haunting, but unlike FLCL, I completely understand why.

Probably more accurate to just say, "I had a hella bad feeling." You ever watch something and think, "This is so horrific that I think I'm being [ethically] bad just watching this," so you stop?

Also, a case like this did happen in the States from a dude who bought loli manga from Japan:

Also also, entrapment should be a crime, you glownigger.
