I just finished this game. I believe I had pretty much the same experience with it as I did with the first game. Same strengths, same flaws. Sometimes better, sometimes worse.
Besides 1 and 4 I played a bit of 3 on PPSSPP, but never finished it. I think they're fun despite the retarded stories and braindead balancing. Have you guys played any of them?

Completed the main story, but have some hard and all the exreme skirmishes left to play. Some squad stories, too. I think those are probably the coolest addition to the formula (speaking od addtitions, I never really used the ship, it seems almost completely useless). Making you play through short missions, where you only get a handful of characters and learn more about them in order to get their true potentials is a cool idea. In general, there is a ton of extra content, which is nice, but I have to admit I don't think I'm going to do most of it, because I am simply tired of the gameplay. Even cheesed through the last few missions. I'm at a point where I just read the briefings and don't want to play anymore. I read somewhere that there's a true ending or something like that, so I will probably just get that, complete a few more extra mission and then be done with the game for good. Put around 50 hours into it. Might get up to 60. All in all I would say this was a pretty good game, but less memorable than the first one. Probably because back then it was more unique. Will we ever get a game where we play as the Imperial Army?

Also shocktroopers have the best girls. Vancey, Viola, Emmy, Fleuret, Ferrier and Lily are all great.
omg its dads tank.
In the farm house.
Dads tank.
Just sitting there in the farmhouse this whole time
this piece of military equipment just chillin like an old tractor.
Dads tank.

The story is a little retarded but girls are cute so all things are right in the world.I should restart one again at some point and beat it. The game is entertaining and I've never really played anything like it before. How do the other games stuck up against the first?

It's a shame they threw away 2 and 3 improvements but otherwise it was an enjoyable experience.

valkyria chronicles triggers my autism
>In the first image we see a soldier properly equipped
>In the second image we see a civilian who will be maimed during her first encounter because of a stray shrapnel
>Please use face and head protection

I also tried to play VC like xcom but the game called me a retard.

Bakery wins because she's cute

I liked the gameplay of 4 but the story and how it ended pissed me the fuck off on how retarded it was.

Scout and order spam is boring. 4 was a disapointment.
1 was also a disapointment after ISARA

They are really similar. Just play 1 and if you want more after that play 4.
>>317583
Do you mean the class change system? Like I said, I don't know much about 2 and 3.
>>317599
They look like that because they need to be faceless nazi stormtroopers or the story would fall apart, as they'd have to acknowledge they're doing literally the same thing the evil enemies are doing. And you know, videogame logic.

You mean the ceasefire? It really was retarded. If that wasn't the end of the game I probably would have dropped it right there. Also I feel really bad for Kai/Leena for losing both her lover and brother even though she betrayed everyone and is probably responsible for thousands of deaths, but got off scot free anyway, lol.

I liked the ancap child choosing to be a nuclear weapon thing with the story. Been thinking about playing it through again, enjoyed it pretty good the first time through.
Did they ever fix scout rushing being the one true strat?

I think they did in VC 2, but I don't remember, in VC 1 PC version, because of the high framerates tanks can one tap you.
>>317672
The ceasefire, the worlds most pointless sacrifice, and a bad guy who thinks defecting and committing outright genocide is a proper response to human experiments are just some of the shit that just pissed me the fuck off

The compendium says they're 20.
No way in hell this wasn't altered in the translation.

Daily reminder that she did nothing wrong and VC2 is probably one of the worst written JRPGs ever made.
