>I don't remember him having any fear of them only being annoyed by them.
Oh, well that makes him autistic then.
>I don't think we ever hear of mia's family at all, but if you're talking about the bakers then Ethan had no choice.
It's the spaghetti aura. That's why they resent him.

I gave Outbreak a spin, tried to beat the first level with a friend for a couple of hours. F, absolutely F. The worst-designed co-op game ever, and a pretty badly-designed Resident Evil game in general. It's probably bearable solo where you have time to experiment and figure out what the fuck you're doing but if you're playing with a friend then the entire experience is just vacant and confused helplessness. Doesn't really change a thing if you're playing with one of those speedrunners too because then you're just waiting to get carried.
The enemies just spawn incessantly while you try to get your bearings, the objectives are unclear, there are CONSTANT cutscenes being triggered through no action of any of the players and they all have like 10-second loading screens to come on and off, weapons and ammunition are stupidly scarce, there's keyboard chat for when you're playing with strangers but you only get to chat in the between-game lobbies, inventory management appears to be tied to the network (to prevent duplicate item pickup?) so oftentimes you can attempt to pick up an item and then your character just stupidly stands there for 20 seconds and THEN you finally get the prompt to pick up or ignore (meanwhile you're completely open to attack by zombies), same for the in-game map which doesn't give you any especially useful information, zombies teleport all over the place and then eat you, there are insta-kills, one of them being directly after the very first room of the game. As for peer-to-peer lag compensation it doesn't matter if me and my friend are on separate continents, this game would have had to be designed under the assumption that anywhere between 30%-60% of their playerbase would be on dialup, so really we're playing under ideal network conditions.
