This is NOT a thread for gacha-shit!
If you want to discuss that type of content, make your own thread or take it to >>>/gacha/

The purpose of this thread is to talk about games playable on phones. There's really no restrictions on what can be discussed (Aside from already mentioned). The primary reason I made this thread was just see what "good" games actually exist on since no one really talks about it. Thus far, the games I can provide as reqs goes as far as:
Providing links to Qoo-App because I used them to bypass the region-locking of the Goolag Play Store. They still provide links to the Play Store and the iOS App Store if you want to see the "proper" page. Also you should still be able to find "some" games through other third-party sites.
>⑨Bullet Screen
https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/14051
It's literally a 2hu fan game.
>Card Thief
https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/14387
It's a stealth-based card game where you attempt to sneak past guards and collect loot
>Chimera Recollect
https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/13280
Apparently it's a sort of "click to death" game where you play as a customizable monster that protects a child
>City Connection Classic
https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/17052
It's the classic arcade game City Connection with some new graphics elements. Mind the ads. You can avoid them by switching to "Airplane Mode".
>Dark Witch Connect!
https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/12073
It's a tile game where you connect as many of the same adjacent tiles as you can within a minute.
>Mahjong Girls
Only seen this game on the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.sundenshi.shmusume_g
The Shanghai puzzle game where you match mahjong tiles, except doing so reveals pictures of cute girls. Also there's a tile set usiing classic Sunsoft characters.
>Ninja JaJaMaru Neo Classic
https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/16833
It's the classic arcade game Ninja JaJaMaru with some new graphical elements and music (It's actually kick-ass). Mind the ads. You can avoid them by switching to "Airplane Mode".
>The King of Fighters-A 2012
https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/943
It's basically a stripped down port of KoF13.

I'm also trying to avoid mentioning games that have since been ported to consoles.

I bought a "Qin F21" phone off AliExpress for about $100 USD a few months back. 480*640 panel, functioning physical buttons, 64, count that on your fingers, an entire 64GB of storage. Apparently a lot of people use this to get over "social media addiction" (what the fuck?), but personally I've never spent so much time on my phone before. It is SO GOOD for J2ME games.
Not that there are a lot of very good J2ME games in the first place, but hey, it's the best way of playing them.

I've got:
- Doom RPG
- Worms
- Some weird platformer called "Shadowalker"
- Most of the Gameloft library. Nothing very good, but I guess it's interesting that they pretty much directly shaped Hotline Miami's aesthetic
- and of course, the entire GameBoy and GBA library

I'd ask for more J2ME recs, but obviously there's pretty much nothing. It'd be nice if those Japanese Java phone games became properly emulatable some time within the next decade.
Why would anyone play anything on phones that’s not emulation or gacha?
Anyway I’m playing fgo, who’s your favorite servant? Mine’s BB.

Same, I can't understand it either at one point there was an idea of games being something on phone possibly being a thing then it became a joke where you have ads every 5 seconds or asking to pay money for a item that lasts only once.
Even so I can't imagine there being much more than rhythm and puzzle games because of touch control limitations by default.
>Phone with a controller makes more sense and is more intuitive than DS emulation on computer

I'd argue there's lots of room for a spectrum of games from point and click adventure, visual novel-ish experiences, and especially RPGs. However with what you said that just about describes describes basically every phone game I've heard of that seems mildly interesting outside of DS ports. I personally think about Final Fantasy Dimensions a lot until I realize it was released during the period where every single FF mobile port had no art style and I immediately reconsider.
Also, props to SE and Capcom for releasing Final Fantasy Dimensions 2 and Mega Man X DiVE, respectively, as video games you can fucking buy after their F2P service ended. I know that should be a standard but since it very much isn't I think I should praise it like a meat packing plant that doesn't put random detritus in the meat or a mine that doesn't use children in hopes that it will somehow effect anything. That having been said the best thing that can happen to a mobile game is that it gets a PC port. Look at those weirdo SMT titles G-MODE made that got ported from ancient ass Java phones a while back, like that one Last Bible port/reimagining/exactly one youtuber torture device. I guess on that topic the devs of said Last Bible games apparently released an iOS game in like 2017 called El of Genesis so I guess I'd recommend that if you like that sort of thing.

I'm not a mobilefag but it's unfortunate there's a lot of Japanese stuff that's been lost to time. There was actually a third version of Cotton asides from the original arcade version and the X68K version which significantly altered the bosses and made adjustments to the levels and graphics. The only real stuff I could find on it was screenshots from an old archive of Success' website and this short gameplay video.

That said, I am a total Shattered Pixel Dungeon addict. On PC, though. Even though it was made first for phones, I still can't imagine it being remotely fun pecking at a fucking touchscreen to do everything. The only reason it's enjoyable at all on PC is because it has decent keyboard movement and hotkeys. (Could still be improved though)

It’s beyond me that visual novels didn’t find a market on phones. Japs are incompetent retards.

I pirated many nokia games back then.
I don't remember most, it was so long ago, there was Doom/Wolfenstein/Elves&Something RPG, Crime City, Prehistoric Park, Gold Rush: Bonanza, lots of gameloft stuff like Zombie Infection. Some JRPG's too, I barely remember any, there was one with enemies as tornadoes and every boss was just a recolored dragon.
If you mean android by making this thread. Just emulate psp and don't be a nigger.
Flash games were fat more enjoyable than phone games, when phone games were supposed to be an extension of them.

Apple is the most used in japan so it's a no go and if they aren't using a iPhone it's a mix of flip phones and smart phones using android.

Oh yeah japs are apple fags. You mean because of the sexual content? They can censor them (not that I support it). But americans are anti otaku tropes so even with that they won’t allow them.
You got me thinking that if Japan had its own mobile phone juggernaut we would see all kinds of games on phones.

Works on my 100 dollar phone perfectly. Once you've played a couple of hours you've basically played the entire game but its fun. Even better when you unlock the fast forward option
