>just like he had to pussy out on doe rape and spreading your seed, i'm serious, this happened
Are you telling me that the snowgrave Darwinist HMOFA route was originally going to let me turn Noelle straight just the way she should have been? I strongly desire to learn more about this opportunity I've been deprived of.

I'm torn on whether the soul being in Kris is the reason for the they/them stuff. I think the characters are aware of the dichotomy between Kris and the soul on some level (Toriel says "Kris... does that sometimes" at the end of chapter 2 when the soul is stuffed in the bathroom cupboard), and Noelle's mom is specifically aware of the soul and speaking to it during the hangout scene in chapter 4. Even if that is the reason, it's still pretty faggy and a sign of Toby Fox's commitment to all the Tumblr language war ideology. There's no reason a character-within-a-character like that couldn't just be addressed in the masculine singular.
There are also weird inconsistencies in the scripts for chapter 2 and 3+4 when referring to characters who appear in both. Queen calls the Roaring Knight "it" as does everyone else, but when the knight reappears in chapter 3+4 other characters use "it" and "they" interchangeably. In the first fight with Elnina and Lanino, Elnina refers to Lanino as "they" once (like "who needs their attacks?") despite calling him a man the rest of the time. Similarly, the shopkeeper Seam is apparently meant to be they/them despite the character looking masculine and his name being a pun on the Irish man's name Sean, which I learned from a video covering the Jap/Eng translation of the games.
Back when Undertale first released I was inclined to give Toby the benefit of the doubt about the gay stuff in it because I played the game during its first few weeks and I had enough fun that I was willing to look the other way. But it's been a straight decade of unrepentant faggotry from Undertale and Deltarune now, either with all the obligatory indie game lesbians or with the behind-the-scenes yaoi, or with every heterosexual couple being unstable or outright destroyed. It's genuinely kind of unbelievable how much Toby has made Asgore into this total cuck sad sack for so many years now.
