I shure do love me them crpg games.
What CRPGs are you nerds playing?

Currently I'm jumping between Pathfinder WOTR and RogueTrader. I find WOTR better than Kingmaker so far but I'll probably end up attempting to finish a playthrough of Kingmaker after I beat wrath at least once.

PF WotR is pretty good in my opinion. Yeah there is some gay shit but the game itself is good, albeit a bit unbalanced when it comes to enemy NPCs.

Currently playing through Neverwinter Nights singleplayer and Baldurs Gate 3. Honestly the former is pretty easy so far it's a bit disappointing, but the last boss of chapter 1 kinda kicked my ass. Still solid I see why people have liked it all these years.

BG3 is solid, but some of the changes to the spells like magic weapon or wards against good/evil having CONCENTRATION is fucking stupid. I swear this is a Larian change, but 5e is shit so it wouldn't surprise if that was the norm. Still, their version of 5e is better than vanilla 5e.

Pathfinder is insanely boring to me, tried playing it 3 times and quit every time. Anything Larian puts out is so insanely overrated it's kind of astounding. UnderRail is good though.

Is Colony Ship worth playing and which wizardry games are good?
Sims 1 feels like old CRPG. You pause the game, give orders and turn 3rd speed to see it play out in an addictive rinse and repeat loop

>Neverwinter
The first module is kinda eh, the second one feels a lot better in terms of encounter design and story if you care about that.
The 3rd module feels like a murder dungeon but considering it's supposed to continue your character off the second module it's fine. You are intended to hit epic levels in it.

For Pathfinder I did a shifter weretouched, fun so far but I miss slinging spells as a wizard. My biggest challenge in these games is choosing a class I feel like sticking with all the way through the game.

Why not just have your main guy do one and a custom companion do the other?
Replies: >>277804
>>277754 (OP)
I’m enjoying RogueTrader, though I can’t find the time for it.
>>277796
You could. The story in the second module doesn't connect to the first at all, but the 3rd connects to the second.
You can just import who ever you want though, the game doesn't care.

Meant for PF WotR but I didn't consider that for NWN.

Dragon Question III at the moment. Thought I'd do a Thieves only playthrough, but it's getting rather tricky.

Thief is easily the best class in the game (assuming you're not playing the shit remake), though its dependence on one-off weapons make it not really suited to multiples.
Replies: >>277883
>>277854
Yeah that's the problem I'm running into, one thief is one of the best support classes but relying on them entirely is a different matter.

>the shit remake
SNES is shit now?
Replies: >>277897
I should say also that I've been ignoring Pachisi loot, which plays a huge role in boosting thieves.
>>277883
I'm pretty sure he's talking about III HD-2D, which is superior to the NES version but not to playing the SNES version with the orchestrated OST and HD mode 7.
Is underrail supposed to be hard or do I just suck?

Its supposed to be hard, using a build from online is expected

Which Wizardry games are even more modern than something that came from a people that just has discovered fire? Easy answer: 6, 7 and 8. That's it. If I remember that right, the saves are compatible with each predecessors from 7 onwards. That means you can import your characters from the last game. Not that you gonna get to do that, because without a premade build, you gonna get eaten by weak wild life and homeless people before you even reach the first level up.

Wizardry games are extremely hard for RPGs. Even the grimoire heralds of the winged exemplar, a clone created by some crank who got frustrated by incompetence and literal faggotry during his involvement in the development of what was originally supposed to be Wizardry 8, is pretty hard. Virtually all Japanese wizardry clones are ridiculously hard.

Is there a list pic of those games?
Whats a fun pathfinder class? I like to do things besides hit the enemy really hard.

>Colony Ship worth playing
It has less value as an RPG than the studio's previous works. It's a "you can do everything in one run" kind of game.
There are some revisionists who began calling computer RPGs, the granddaddy of RPGs, a Western RGPs or WRPGs which never existed as a genre as far as I can tell and I grew up on 90s RPGs

Good decision, I am playing it with a friend on a swashbuckling copies through LAN. Currently at the last part of it.
We only play it because it is coop, I would've not played it alone for sure, neither would my friend and he has lower standards when it comes to modern shit. The only enjoyment there is comes from combat and getting levels.
Main reason why I dislike it is that I naturally immerse myself in games and stepping into a world of baldurs gate 3 feels like logging into a fantasy reddit. Every character is unlikable (even those spared of being shade of shitskin) and the whole thing is so repulsive with boring dialogue and lame nigger stories that I never cared about a single quest.
It is a world not only not worth saving, it is not worth experiencing at all (like real life lmao).

Oh boy Millennial writing at its worst. My suspicions from what I have seen were correct. How annoying is cast's horniness? I have heard some people complaining about how they want to sleep with you as soon you are friendly towards them as if they are in dumbass nukige.

This far there has been only one instance where everyone is suddenly, as if scripted, horny after a major battle and forced "let's have sex now! I want your semen on my beard!" dialogue happens well, my companion is toad lass, but I am sure male equivalent says this, my friend has druid guy with him and he is always one dialogue option off of saying barely subtle gay things and making faggot smile. Still, I appreciated that when I dismissed faghole vampire at the start of the game he never showed up again.
Apart from that single moment, where I declined, nothing horny at all, but this might vary per character and in singleplayer you would be surrounded by these tiring faggots, I can only say for the frog girl and I have high disposition with her because she approves just killing everyone without listening to their awfully written dialogues.

The funny thing is, the first RPG released in Japan was made by a westerner.
http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2010/04/henk_rogers_black_onyx_transla.php
I haven't been able to play it though, since none of the translation patches worked for me. Well, no surprise since I'm running ARM Linux and all ROM tools are made for Windows or occasionally x86 Linux. I couldn't even find a DOS patcher that actually worked in dosbox (as in giving me a non-corrupted output). It sure would be easier if we could just download the already patched ROMs...

The story is "serviceable" but not really good in my opinion. I haven't got far but I am planning to play through the whole thing soon. I've played chapter 1 numerous times but always stop towards the end. It doesn't help I play Tactician Mode only and get frustrated with some of the fights that are total bullshit

Never played Divinity myself but from what my friends have said romance with Larian Studios was never good, and is always the worst part of thr writing. I've also seen people say it feels like a single fat bitch with cats in her 30's wrote thw romance dialogue for BG3, and I would agree.
Would plow the female companions though in order:

Maybe he is just using linux where recording sound is difficult due to alsa killing other sources

Considering it's sub 4mb I doubt it

ALSA works fine for me, and I even removed the pulseaudio stuff. I only experienced a few problems with one program (mpv) that sometimes kills the audio driver and the only way to recover sound then is reboot (audio wasn't built as a kernel module, so I can't just try to rmmod/insmod it). Anyway I just ended up using ffplay instead of mpv, to avoid that.
I actually started with Linux before ALSA existed and it there only OSS audio. And I don't need the new desktop crap at all, for anything.
Any recommended neverwinter nights modules?

A Dance With Rogues is the highest quality NVN module out there.
The catch is you have to play as a woman and a lot of the dialogue options are both cringe and don't matter.
My personal favorite however is Sands of Fate, and I think I remember Ravenloft being pretty decent. It's been a while though.

Replies: >>279978 >>281797
>>279976
I've never played it, but looking it up your PC does in fact get raped in the prologue scene and the most you can do is struggle. After that sex is basically an easy button just like in real life that lets you bypass parts of certain quests but isn't mandatory unless the sex is the point of the quest. Before you ask, yes, we're fairly sure a woman wrote this.
Replies: >>281797
>>279976
Yes.

>>279978
Oh it is definitely made by a woman. She made a porn-for-women module for her own private amusement but it was a rather high quality module because of the way it incorporated interactivity, branching possibilities, sidequest content, decisions that matter, and maintained a proper plot that the protagonist was properly entangled into (as opposed to shit like Skyrim plot where there is lore and story and shit but you'll comfortably ignore it all and go fuck off do whatever and maybe get back to it when you please) so she was encouraged by a friend to release it and it became very popular and regarded as one of the best (some would say the best) NWN modules.

Maybe I'll check it out.
Im still working through the final module, its just all combat but my build sucks, missing a lot more than I should I feel like.
