I liked him too, but he was way too simple and repetitive. The concept is very cool for a magician DMC characters.

I find him fun because if you remain right in an enemy's face and read the book 24/7 it provides fun in that you have to have your dodges on point and nightmare exists 24/7 and just never leaves. When you bookmax appropriately nightmare is genuinely out like 95% of the time, and I find his constant explosions funny and fun whilst I juggle 1 enemy with shadow and griffin while I'm on another enemy reading poetry in their face.
It makes me sad when I see a review video or something where the person is shitting on V and in the gameplay they're just standing really far away from enemies while spamming moves from S&G when the farther you are from them the more despondent they are.

DMC5 was fun to play but the story shits the bed hard midway in. Some easy fixes would've been to make the women hot, make Nico less obnoxious and have Nero fight Dante before he reveals that Vergil is his father, so he would actually have an arc of growth that then results in his DT unlocking instead of having a fucking phone call with his wife that has left him pussywhipped for no reason through the entire game.

I am still bummed about Lucia theories back when DMC5 announced. Apparently, the boss where you save Lady had a lot of similarities of her. It would have been cool to see her back. 
Also what happened to rumors of "ladies night" DLC? It was supposed to give us Lady and Trish as playable characters. And for the love of God can we get an actual Vergil campaign instead of being an obligatory special edition character with only 2 cutscene changes?

Considering both Itsuno and Reuben left, I would rather not get anything made by some schmuck that turns into DMC2 part 2 but with nicer graphics.
