Sadly, this. Choosing to buy the "correct" games from companies doesn't send any messages other than the declaration that you'll buy whatever bullshit they push out regardless of how they've treated you in the past.

Remember Bravely Default and Chaos Rings? Two classic JRPG series in the vein of the older Final Fantasy and Squaresoft games, headed by staff members from that very era, that were developed on a shoestring budget and proved to be massively successful? Some thing is going to happen here. If you want to send a "message" to these companies, what you do is not give them any money or attention whatsoever.

At 19~21 it's pretty much a hag already, and 25+ is unsalvageable.
Certain art styles can minimize the impact (which is why 6 gorillion year old lolibabas exist, etc), but this game wants to go for realistic Hollywood graphics.

Metaphor ReFantazio success, Bauldurs Gate 3 success, Octopath Traveler II's success, and FFXVI's low sales should have already told them that. They are going to spend the next 4 years prioritizing FFVII Remake part 3 anyway.

The moral decay of society reflects itself in the decline of industries and artistic mediums, one such medium being videogames. Art is a reflection of society and the moral compass of its creators will be reflected in it. The discussion ain't gonna end basically.

Great question, I'd like to know too. I heard it recouped cost but then left the public mindspace cause squenix nostalgia bated with Rebirth and everyone just talked about that. Maybe they shouldn't have sold an action game to an RPG fanbase.
