>They really just called it Switch 2
Predictions?
I'm probably too optimistic, but I expect the name and very similar design to bite them in the ass, like with the Wii U.
It will absolutely not sell as well as the switch without another chink-flu and Animal Crossing.
Maybe it will all depend on the games, remember those? What do you think is going to be the "console-seller"? A new 3D bing bing wahoo and walking-sim Zelda?
>>266189 (OP)
>What do you think is going to be the "console-seller"?
maro
It's Nintendo shit, it'll sell. They have their Zelda, animal crossing and bing bing.
Why are they advertising a game which came out over a decade ago? Did all the developers leave Nintendo?

Cool, I was going to make this thread last night but forgot.

https://www.techpowerup.com/331147/nintendo-switch-2-docked-and-handheld-performance-revealed-by-tipster
>Tegra 239 with Ampere-based core, integrated DLSS support
>12GB unified RAM
>3.1 TFLOPS docked, 1.71 TFLOPS handheld (comparable to PS4, better than Steam Deck)
>Hall effect sticks (not surprising considering joycon drift is the only reason we have affordable Hall effect sticks coming out of China)

I can't believe it but I think they did the right thing here. The Switch was already pretty much the perfect device for Nintendo's target market (portable, makes local multiplayer easy, physical media is small and easy to carry, has a Nintendo logo on it) with the only serious issues being drift, the tiny kickstand, the controllers being too small for all but children and micropenis sufferers to hold comfortably in split mode and eventually performance. They fixed all of those problems, the only open questions now are backwards compatibility and battery life. Still agree with OP that they'll have a hard time convincing people it's worth $400 to upgrade, or that it's even an upgrade.

They did, but it was forced into arbitration because goyim don't get access to due process. Instead they quietly directed support to fix drifting joycons free of charge, even without a warranty.

Looks like they've learned something from the Wii U debacle since they're bringing back public hands-on demos, but still fucked it up making it a random drawing.
Cool, now how long until Ryujinx gets update/forked to support it so I can play the new Mario Kart and Zelda without giving jewtendo money? I'm betting it would be pretty easy, which is why they sued them out of existence.

If that is the new MarioKart it doesn't look that better campared to MK8.

Anyway, while they did the right thing by sticking to the console/handheld hybrid form factor, as well as making it compatible with Switch1 games, (it would have been stupid not to) i think this will suffer the same issues of the first one, meaning that it won't be powerful enough to get third party support aside from the same indie low-effort crap that clutters the current e-shop, while the big developers will simply port their PS4/XBONE games on it, making this console appear old and obsolete already.
I can already imagine Crapcom trying to hype the crap REmakes as something new: "super duper edition! Now with all the DLCs included!"
Those exclusives need to be REALLY good if they want this shit to sell.

The form factor is almost perfect, i like that the joycons are bigger and i don't even have particularly big hands, but those things were too tiny even for me and i like the new way they plug into the console.
Hopefully, with the drift issue supposedly solved, these will last longer.

I haven't notice a change in this video, but i hope the front buttons will get bigger as well, at least as big as the PSP's, the current ones are way too small.
Another thing i hate about the switch controls are the L/R buttons that needed to be larger (or wider?) i mean, those thin stripes are not comfortable to press at all, unlike any other controller's, hell, even the PSP's had far better L/R buttons.

Regarding the Retrocomp. They also need to offer stuff like patches to offer better performance, graphics and shit like that, if you play Switch games on a S2, and not just put the RC there and call it a day.

If the price is really going to be 400 bucks then i think it's too much, at least 50/100 dollars/euros less would have been more honest.

The last doubt is about the battery life, if it is going to be less that the newer switch models is going be a disappointing downgrade regardless of whatever justification they can find for that.

Lastly, i am sure that they release the reveal only because of the leaks, otherwise they would have kept going with "maybe tomorrow, maybe next year" buffonery they did until today.

Much of the love of Disney are from Millennials who still nostalgiafag their first time ever visiting Disneyland. Millennials also love the most unhealthiest slop of food and buying useless merchandise, so Disneyland is the perfect place for them to act as mindless zombies. I find that to be very sad as I am one of those millennials who grew up on that Yidsney content and nostalgiafag about the times I went to Yidsneyland with my grandmother. Even preferred the Yisdney Channel cartoons over much of anything on CN (Except for DCAU, Code Lyoko, and Scooby Doo) and Nick (Except for Jimmy Neutron). But for all I know, it could also be because I actually had wonderful parents who raised me, was exposed to pre-"Renaissance" Disney content (From Peter-Pan to Herbie to The Black Hole), and I had already been corrupted by anime (Like Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Digimon, and Yu-Gi-Oh). Meanwhile in a rather ironic fashion, it seems like these people only latched on after Yisdney bought Marvel and Star Wars. And almost act like there "wasn't" a Disney company prior to the 90's. Or at least anything prior to that period is "unimportant".

The Switch is going to end up being the highest-selling console of all time in maybe 2-4 years, no shit the Switch 2 won't have the same level of success.

Now as for the Bing Bing Switcheroo, I expect it to sell but not at the same rate the Switch did unless Nintendo has some hard exclusive system sellers early on which I highly doubt, and while in the short term this could be fine if they don't start pumping out some gud fuggin gaems the UMPC hordes from the western steppe could eventually overrun them once emulation or wrapping becomes viable.
>>266484
>I expect it to sell but not at the same rate the Switch did unless Nintendo has some hard exclusive system sellers early on
It's also worth remembering that the Nintendo that existed in the early days of Switch is pretty different from the Nintendo that exists today. Early Switch era Nintendo was making unapologetically sexy games like Xenoblade 2, but current Nintendo is preventing lewd games from even releasing on their system like Sony of America.

I can't see their exclusive library being as good for the Switch 2 with the constant downward trend towards westernization.

Speaking of which - Yasunori Mitsuda, one of the composers for Xenoblade, spoke out against the rising trend of censorship in media a few years back which has most likely gotten him blacklisted from the Japanese entertainment industry by now.

Xenoblade 4's soundtrack will be composed by Toby Fox and Lena Raine in his stead and you WILL like it.

I know it's mostly a shitpost, but still. That image would only make sense if first party games were the only thing on the system. Wii U sucked to dev for, so companies just didn't. Switch is near trivial to dev for, so it has fucktons of games.
There's also the reverse influence of no one wanting to dev for the Wii U because it had poor sales numbers, but that's diagnosing a symptom as the cause. Only works for later in the system's lifecycle.

According to 10 seconds of searching (so forgive me if this isn't 100% accurate) there's 1,384 Wii U games VS about 12k so far for the Switch.
Before the Switch 2 release that number will continue to increase, and I wouldn't be surprised if especially indies continue to release on the Switch after if Nintendo allows them to. But plenty of them are too retarded to optimize, so some chunk of them will only target Switch 2 plus maybe some money from Nintendo to convince them, and thus the soyfaces that enjoy their indies on the Switch instead of a Steamdeck will upgrade.
Replies: >>266529

>Wii U sucked to dev
No, it didn't. Developers found the Wii U even easier to program for than the 360 (Which they found iMacs to be extremely compatible with ironically enough), let alone the PS3 and it's esoterich cells. Not to mention how "difficult to program for" didn't hinder devs ability to develop games for the PS2 or even the Wii's wagglin'. The problem was that the industry didn't want it. From how EA pulled all support after Nintendo refused to allow their online to be entirely backboned through Origin to how Treehouse was sabotaging the company internally for daring to release the games people wanted like Bayonetta 2, Fatal Frame 5, and Devil's Third.
>According to 10 seconds of searching (so forgive me if this isn't 100% accurate) there's 1,384 Wii U games VS about 12k so far for the Switch.
You're also forgetting the 2.2k+ games carried over from the Wii.
<That doesn't sound like much
Compared that to the Xbone and PS4 that had zero backwards compatibility (at launch)? Or the 360's 1.1K (Plus 300 from the original Xbox) and the PS3's 1k (Plus the 70 PS2 games (Because "no one" had the first-gen Phat models by this point) and 4.4k PS1 games).

If we're to compare it to other systems, the Switch 2 is currently in the same position as the Wii U, the Vita, the 3DS, the PS3, the NDS, the PS2, the GBA, and the GBC. It sort of says something that half of those systems were knock-out successes, meanwhile the other half "failed" or required the company to move heaven and Earth before they began to make a profit on it.

Personally, I don't know about the Switch 2. On the one hand, it's the only current system being put out by a company that that hasn't decided to burn every bridge possible (Thus far). But on the other hand, there's little reason to upgrade if you're going to be playing the "same games" you're already playing (If not on the Switch, at least on PC). This issue is even more pressing when everyone who's interested in buying a Switch already owns one by this point. The system has been out for eight years, and it's already well beyond the PS2's sales numbers by the time that system reached it's eighth year of sales (Still has yet to pass the NDS's 154 million by that same metric).
