Same here, mostly. I really liked the multiplayer aspect, I wish it had a more active community, so it would still be somewhat active to this day. I'm disappointed I didn't play the game more myself, I liked the "gang wars" mode, that offered lore on what happened to jersey/brazil after the end of the game, and had several "campaigns" that served as the multiplayer's equivalent of story mode. Could barely ever play these due to dwindling playerbase, especially after the DLCs started splitting what was left by that point.
Didn't care for how they made the single player more of an interactive movie than anything, either. I should never have to hump walls and other pieces of cover in a max payne game like it's a tactical shooter(or limit my choice of weapons), but you're forced to for most of the game, as due to gameplay mechanics/level setup, you barely ever given the opportunity to clear a room via akimbo shootdodge anymore. The gunplay was fun, but nothing like the previous games, I think that was the biggest turnoff for most. Should have kept it the same as in MP1 and 2, if you ask me, but keep the "tactical" third person aspect for multiplayer, it's almost tailor made for it.
No backtracking or finding secrets in single player didn't help the matter either, however. Only being able to find gold gun pieces to bling out your guns was gay as fuck(what is this, call of duty?). And fuck whoever wanted to change max's voice actor, I'm glad they changed their tune on that rather quickly.
Overall, it's a great game, but not a decent Max Payne game, certainly not the one most have been waiting 10 years for, if you never touched multiplayer
