The 3DS and its library.
It was just filled with garbage. There were so few original games on it compared to its predecessor, and its remakes/remasters didn't particularly impress me. The original games it did have were mostly shit. The best you can expect out of a 3DS game (if you don't have shit taste/low standards) is an 8.5/10, maybe a 9 if you're really lucky (I haven't been so far), which is not what you want out of a console.
To this day, the best games I've used my 3DS for are playing my DS games on it because my DSi (another massive regret, inferior to the DS Lite in every way and I didn't know it lacked backwards compatibility when I bought it) had broken shoulder buttons.
People kept telling me it was great and I was in my naive "new to online communities" phase where I believed retards on the internet merely because of the power of consensus and hype, and then when I actually started playing games on it, reality just sunk in worse and worse.
Not to mention as a device its a poorly made hunk of junk.
Maybe if you're an extreme nintendofag or a literal child this might be an acceptable device, but not for me.
It was comical to see the 3DS threads die without even a whimper back on 8chan prime after I wasted so much time in those threads. All it took was a shiny new device in the Switch for people to fuck off from it completely. The real embarrassing part were the occasional people who retroactively tried to pretend it was better than the Switch, as if anyone actually gave a genuine fuck in the first place about the thing in the first place.
>Vita
While you're correct that it was fucked over in terms of support by Sony and it did have less library variety than the PSP in some respects, it was still quite a good device. At launch it was dogshit and also overpriced with numerous problems so I can understand why you felt the way you did, on top of its lack of hackability until 2016. But once it was able to be hacked, it was great. The quality of the games it did get was great too. For example, you didn't mention Dungeon Travelers 2 nor Muramasa Rebirth which are usually also listed among the best Vita games. Also had some other heavy hitters like Steins;Gate, the Utawarerumono games, Danganronpa series, most all the Ys games, P4 Golden, Digimon Cyber Sluts, the God Eater games, Soul Sacrifice, numerous fighting games, the SRW games, the EDF games, Trillion: God of Destruction, the Senrans, many, many indie game ports, the Nosurge games, the Atelier games, the Miku games, and so on. Its library size ended up being quite respectable at the end despite its low total sales numbers.
>well-made device with near-perfect ergonomics
>basically a sturdier OLED PSP with twin sticks
>homebrew scene kept (and continues) bringing in more games
>library amped up the lewdness significantly from the PSP era
>solid emulation capacities
I got mine for like 120 and at a point in time when it already had a mature library and was able to be hacked, I haven't played a game I disliked on it yet and I take the utmost care of it. Plus the community is great and dedicated. I'm the opposite from you, I consider that one of my greatest decisions I've made with regards to vidya.
