Fine. Here I go.

What's your preferred way to play vidya? I'm talking about the best way to be comfortable and have a great time.
For example. I like to play certain games like Ridge Racer 4 in total darkness. Having the tv being the only light in the room, playing in my comfy chair with a hot drink and my window open to simulate the wind. It's such a beautiful game and playing in other way seems wrong to me. I'm even thinking about getting a wheel to play it that way.
On the other hand, right now I've been playing Warhammer 40K: Space Marine. Obviously the previously mentioned setup wouldn't make sense. What I do is get myself pumped with some Power Metal (Sabaton, Powerwolf, etc.) alongside a carbonated cold drink. I do that with a bunch of aggressive games of which I don't like the OST. I wouldn't do it with MGR:R for example.
Some games, especially games that don't require moment to moment action, I like having a snack for. Strategy games, JRPGS. I like having chips or granola or something like that.
Moving away from food. Do you do most of your gaming on your PC chair or do you sometimes use a couch? Sitting back and getting sucked into a couch is quite comfy.
I use my PS3 and PS2 for my couch playing and is really, really comfy.
Or you can use your bed. I mostly use handhelds for that though. I play games on my vita while laying down. Is kind of the reason I've been considering a Steam Deck. I like the pick and play nature of it and would like to play relaxed in my bed. Right now I'm waiting for an OLED revision though. The other day I saw a mod someone is working on to put a 1200p screen on the thing and it looks pretty nice. I would play a lot of Yakuza on it. Maybe some Elden Ring.
Speaking, of Elden Ring, what do you think Fromsoft will do next? I mean, they are working on Armored Core 6. I wonder how that'll come out. I'm not that big on AC although I really enjoyed playing AC4 and 4 Answer. I wonder if they will incorporate some souls mechanics.
I'm getting side tracked, of yeah! Do you use aromatic candles when gaming? I think it adds to some games. Specially those with a cozy, warm atmosphere.
I like sniffing on some girl's perfume while playing the Senran Kagura game. I've been playing some Peach Beach Splash and I like to have a Pina Colada at hand alongside some sunscreen to rub under my nose. it gives me the illusion that I'm there. I would like to buy a busty anime doll to sit it on my lap while playing but they are too expensive.
I hope sex robots are around the corner. I mean, I know they are at risk of getting banned by the jews but I don't see development stopping. I watch those Redmoa Haydee videos and imagine how awesome would be to her sitting on my face. Imagine 2B blowing you while playing vidya. Even if robots don't come through then maybe VR can be a good alternative and that's something that I highly doubt will get banned. Apple just released a new pair of headsets which I bet is mostly for devs to start working on sweet stuff and once that technology gets perfected, porn artist and modelers will work their magic.
Since we're speaking of comfy ways to play vidya that is something I would like. I cute doll resting on my shoulder.
I think your environment can really change your perspective on a game. I should go camping on an abandoned building and play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. on my laptop or go to the beach and play Dead or Alive Volleyball on my vita.
Another reason I like to change my surroundings with each game is because it makes my memories with each game more unique and well, memorable. Do you ever associate a game with something else? Like maybe you played Kirby on your Gameboy while waiting for your mom to pick you up from school or soccer practice. Or maybe you played a specific game after a long day of work and now you associate that game with such relief.
I, for example, after a long day of school would come home and play SMT: Nocturne on my big ass CRT while watching anime on my computer and drinking a cold glass of water. So, every time I think about Nocturne or go back and play it, that memory springs back and brings a smile to my face.
Do you have any stories like that? I bet there's some games that remind you of your childhood or have funny stories of. Maybe a game that your friend group back in middle school enjoyed and you would all talk about it.
My friends and I used to play a lot of Gen 1 Pokemon back day and this UTTER FUCKING FAGGOT stole my Pokemon: Yellow Edition and claimed he bought it himself even though it was clearly my copy with the label removed, so I punched his nutsack in so hard it broke in 3. Then again, I was no better since I stole Kirby from this other guy but he was a annoying flabby cunt.
I always liked that aspect of Pokemon. Different versions each with different pokeymans and you could battle each other and such. Now the different versions just seem pointless. I doubt any kids are taking the switchs to school and comparing teams and battling out. I could be wrong though.
Pokemon is such a waste now. Even the pokegirls are getting ugly. There's nothing redeemable about the franchise and it's probably just going to get worse.
Anyways. so what is your setup like? Do you play on your monitor? Do you use a big 4K TV?
Have you ever used a projector? They can look pretty good. I was thinking of getting one but my room is filled with posters and I would have to remove them.
So, anyways, What's your preferred way to play vidya?
dance mat + joystick up my ass

Damn bro you really like to go the extra mile with your atmosphere. I wanna try that approach but I'll have to think of something with a good game first. The only game I remember switching up the music for was when I'd have a friend over and I'd put on Violence Violence by Ceremony very very loud and we'd crush some Streets of Rage 2. PC I just have the monitor on an old kitchen table and sit in s chair that was a part of the table set. Consoles are all plugged up to either a huge, I think 60", mega super hd tv or a CRT depending on if it's new or not. Either sit on the couch or on the floor. It's nice, I like it. In my truck I've got a tv that i can use while laying in bed, put the switch dock under the microwave that i never use ever and play that while lying down which is pretty comfortable. One thing I don't like about that is how stationary I am, but I can just take the switch out and play it without the tv so I do that sometimes.
Thinking about your dedication to irl immersion has me thinking, I'll probably try out some golfin game while sitting on some grass in a nice park on a nice day. That sounds really relaxing. Thanks for this thread, you've inspired me. I'm gone do the thing.

Get your heads out your shit-encrusted asses, modfaggots. Stop sucking niggerdicks and start sucking a shotgun barrel instead. Die a painful and violent death where you are skinned alive and/or covered with honey and left for the fire ants.

The most I've played video games they were gen 4/5/6 in my bed on my back. I usually would have a cheap android tablet anchored above my face, fan near by, something to pee in, water to drink near as well. I would use a bluetooth controller so the tablet would not drain but far in the past I had a 4.4 android that had a charging port seperate from the usb port but that I never anchored over my face. Sometimes I've made magnification boxes and anchored a phone to the back of it to make it look bigger and whore cheap reading glasses simultaneously. PItch black often, my lamp is next to my bed along with the water and piss pitcher.

I don't play games much because that is not healthy. I play in a normal chair on a normal x86 computer now but hardly ever play because it's not the comfort zone I want.

I also liked playing retro games on a handheld as that forces you to pay more attention but sitting with my legs crossed was a thing with that and it hurts too much unless I am in monk-mode and thin, of which, I'm always fat.

If it's a game that feels too happy I want to play it with someone else. This is another reason I don't play games. Windwaker makes me feel lonely but OOT does not for example. Super smash bros makes me feel lonely but Soul Caliber would not.

Image semi-related, the only image I have of the 4.4 tablet, the first android I was pressured into owning due to being poor. I had it rigged like that for a reason. No desk, it's adapter broke, I wanted it to stay upright, cardboard covers frayed wires, etc. I mostly shitposted with that but did play games on it, mostly gba.

Anyone ever just zone out over the night in front of a pc playing eras or other strategy games?
That seems to be optimal for your standard desk setup.
I miss having time.

Grand strategy does that to you, but I meant staying up and forgetting to eat/sleep because you're trying to see tgis maneuver/campaign/route through.

Sometimes I had fallen asleep playing open world games, usually Elder Scrolls like daggerfall but also some newer titles like Baldurs Gate 2

I have no choice but to do that now since I am always so busy from slavery during the weekdays. Feels badman

I am similar but only when i play Horror games, playing them in the living room in plain daylight just feels wrong to me.
When i play horror vidya (or watch horror movies for that matter) the screen must be the only source of light as you said, also, playing during night is better because you don't hear external noise you would in daylight and the sound of the game gets amplified.
