John 3:16 KJV: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

>Vance Boelter giving a sermon at the DRC in 2021: "[Jesus] is coming again, and he's got plans, he's got purposes for each one of you and for me."

I'm torn by this, somebody who calls himself a Christian can go on a cold-blooded murder spree. As King David behaved towards King Saul:

>Afterward David also arose and went out of the cave, and called after Saul, “My lord the king!” And when Saul looked behind him, David bowed with his face to the earth and paid homage. And David said to Saul, “Why do you listen to the words of men who say, ‘Behold, David seeks your harm’? Behold, this day your eyes have seen how the Lord gave you today into my hand in the cave. And some told me to kill you, but I spared you. I said, ‘I will not put out my hand against my lord, for he is the Lord's anointed.’ See, my father, see the corner of your robe in my hand. For by the fact that I cut off the corner of your robe and did not kill you, you may know and see that there is no wrong or treason in my hands. I have not sinned against you, though you hunt my life to take it. May the Lord judge between me and you, may the Lord avenge me against you, but my hand shall not be against you. As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘Out of the wicked comes wickedness.’ But my hand shall not be against you. After whom has the king of Israel come out? After whom do you pursue? After a dead dog! After a flea! May the Lord therefore be judge and give sentence between me and you, and see to it and plead my cause and deliver me from your hand.” (1 Samuel 24:8-15, ESV)

What do you guys think? Is Vance a true Christian? How could someone that calls themselves a Christian go about doing this heinous act? As Christians ourselves, how does this incident affect all of us?

I think we can all agree that at the moment he went on his killing spree it was the evil one that had influence upon his heart and the Holy Spirit was not with him. However, that is not to say that at the moment that video was recorded, Vance wasn't a zealous Christian. Like all of us, his passions led him into sin. Let this be a reminder that all of us should be on guard against the evil one, that we may not be led into such grievous sin. We should also pray for him to repent and return to Christ before the end of his days.

I don't agree to judge men's hearts.

Who is judging his heart?

The guy who wrote

Then you have poor reading comprehension. Nowhere did I condemn the guy, which is reserved for God alone. You would also know that Scripture asks us to judge righteously the actions of one another in John 7:24 and 1 Corinthians 5:12-13. If he indeed did the killing, then he must repent; there is nothing controversial in that.

Pretty sure his actions can be attributed to the evil one and not to the Holy Spirit. Unless you are suggesting that the Holy Spirit can led someone into sin.

The post attributed his heart to the evil one, sir.

Absolutely, insofar as his actions are not attributed to the Holy Spirit, unless you are suggesting the Holy Spirit can lead us to sin. But never did I condemn him, as you are suggesting
