Ok I have a question, you mentioned the bumplocked /meta/ that you remove posts that have infographics about Judaism/Nazism/Communism etc and how those belong on /pol/.

does this mean we're no longer allowed to discuss those things within a Christian context or just a political one? Or do they belong in designated threads?
Replies: >>23042
>>23040
According to >>17684 I allowed there to be one thread for discussing Christianity-related conspiracies, provided they stay moderately relevant to Christianity. You can make a thread for that and use it as your dumping ground for those images. Just don't drag good threads off-topic with them,

Is there by chance an anti-catholic bias on this board?
Memes making fun of catholics are left alone, anything making fun of atheists or protestants gets removed.
Is that right?
>>23043
I say remove both of them. They do nothing to edify the reader nor increase our faith in the Lord.

your board. You can delete all the Catholics you want.
>>23043
>Is there by chance an anti-catholic bias on this board?
No. There is a bias against dragging threads off-topic with ad-hominems and strawmanning like your first image. Green frog pictures and wojaks are also verbolten.
>Memes making fun of catholics are left alone, anything making fun of atheists or protestants gets removed. Is that right?
No.

My complaint is with this post, which seems to say that you can complain about moderation as long as your complaint is submissive, pathetic and empty
I also complain about all the captchas which are making the board unusable
Replies: >>23076
Allowing an accusation that Pope Benedict was Nazi because he was in the Hitler youth, while banning a rebuttal that explained what that meant makes the Hitler Youth argument against Francis and all Catholics a Reductio ad Hitlerum fallacy.

Allowing folks to point out the wickedness of some Catholic priests, while banning posts that are show that they shouldn't be casting the first stone by posting examples of equally wicked protestant ministers, or a rebuttal about the infiltration of the Catholic Church... is siding with the Protestants.

Damning Catholics for making a idol of the Cross (seriously?) and then deleting that along with an explanation that Catholics keep the crucifix to remind themselves of the how great the sacrifice of Christ was, is anti-Catholic bias. If the Crucifix is part of the problem that some see with Catholicism, why not let the use of the Crucifix be explained.
>>23044
That would be the most fair approach.
>>23047
But an atheist/protestant being a liar, or at best an ignorant spreading ignorance, is fine, and any rebuttal to their falsity must get removed, because that would be to "drag threads off-topic"
Truth and education is off-topic, when lies are being spread.
That's what happens here.

Memes full of lies attacking catholicism = educated argument
Memes making fun of the ignorance of the enemies of the church = low quality off-topic

This is called hypocrisy. To lie, knowing to be lying. (or if there is no awareness at all, a sad case of ignorance reinforcing itself)
Replies: >>23065 >>23075
>>23056
It's not a fair world.
Some people will make a really absurd argument just because they don't want to admit they're wrong, and they usually have other reasons than for what they're saying.
>>23056
If you respond to a bait post by a protestant and your post gets deleted it's probably because jannys deleted the other post and just got rid of yours to prevent the board from being filled with a bunch of off topic posts that link back to nothing.

Also we literally have a designated interdenominational shit flinging thread so if bait or flaming is post outside of that thread then just ignore it and report.
>>23052
If you can't formulate a respectful, calm, and rational post that at the same time firmly and boldly states your opposition to something the moderation does then that says more about you than anything else.

This post is directed at the local frothing-at-the-mouth Catholic of the board: Stop. Stop dragging threads off-topic with your Catholic slapfighting. Stop spamming QTDDTOT with answers nobody wanted to questions nobody asked. Stop newlining every sentence and redditspacing them. Stop evading bans when your posts get mass deleted for dragging threads off-topic. Stop making your presence so obvious to everyone.
Instead, consider the following:
>make good posts that are short, to-the-point, and formatted in a way that a normal human can read
>stop creating problems where there are none
>if you really can't help yourself, keep it in >>20996
I have received numerous complaints from other anons regarding your posts, and I'm done with it. Any more of your nonsense outside of the slapfight thread is delete on sight, no questions asked. Change your style and fit in, or leave.

This. He's definitely damaged the board BO. I have numerous Catholic & Orthodox friends, I'm Protestant, and we're all Christians, all part of the body of Christ. That anon's intensive villification of everything non-Catholic is both very off-putting, and quite non-Biblical.

Well said. I suggest deleting all the responses too as these also derail threads and render them useless for further discussion. If anons want a futile sectarian slapfight we already have a thread for that.
It's also the duty of all of us to take a Christian attitude to the provocation of trolls. Resist the temptation to respond, no matter how good your comeback is, and let BO do as he says. Then the trolls will have to samefag their arguments and the whole lot can be deleted. Report the bait and move on.

Glad I missed that. Moderation needs to be stricter. We don't need to abide by the same imageboard rules everyone else does. We are Christians, and this is a place of gathering and a safe haven of Christianity for some people as melodramatic as it sounds. We are Christians and should not only be holding each other accountable but above all honoring the Lord by keeping this place clean. I'd be ok with post verification and/or the removal of images, or maybe an approval system for images if it means this place would be safer (I wouldn't know how to do that from a technical aspect, though.)
We are different, to be sure, so we should be stricter to each other and not abide by imageboard rules or culture, but Christian rules. We should act like a church if we're all gathering for the Lord. I bet more people would stay if we acted like one
>>24856

Hello brothers in Christ,
After some reflection I've decided this board isn't a welcome place for a growing Christian and don't intend to come here anymore.
This place is full of hatred and false teachings. You would all do well to spend time in your bibles and grow relationships in the church, outside of the internet. There's just too much baggage associated with imageboards and the kinds of people it brings, and we as a community have not done a good enough job driving those bad people out who come here to mislead. I was a fool to think this place would help me. I'm sure plenty of you are genuine in your faith, but to me, and I hope many others here realize, this is not a helpful, edifying, or uplifting place. There are too many people here who don't understand the entirety and the wholeness of the word of God and do not show good fruits. I believe this place has hindered me from doing the same.
Peace be to you all, and I hope this encourages some of you to think.
Don't take this as saying "I'm better than all of you", I am still a sinner needing saved, but being here and listening has hurt my confidence in the Lord and has only brought confusion and strife. It's no place for me. Please think about this.

Hello brothers in Christ.
After reading that other thread, I decided to make my own to express what I think.
This place is full of people of people whom I love and have shared many precious conversations with. I'm extremely grateful to all of you for spending even a little time you have away from church and real life relationships to make /christian/ a little more alive. Being the kind of person who is only attracted to imageboards, I can't express enough how much it has meant to have a Christian imageboard to feel at home in. Although I do try at church and elsewhere to love other people, it's hard to relate to normalfags. That's something I know I need help with. Pray for me that God would grant me that. I'm thankful for this oasis where I can talk about Christian life and Christianity anonymously and freely. Even if we don't always agree on stuff, it's been good and I'm glad you're here. I would rather that than to shut my brother out.
It's funny because I think God used this place (and other boards) to teach me how to love other people. I was never able to care much about other people's problems but, hearing people's problems here, I've been often struck with intense sympathy and concern. I think it's because I'm able to connect with people better here. I often pray for other people now which is a huge improvement. Sometimes I've even forgotten to pray for myself. Anyway, being here has been helpful and I've since been able to see people offline like this a bit too and to pray for them or help them. I still have a long way to go on that front. This place saved me during a crisis of faith some years back and helped me immensely in other ways to grow in my faith as well. Please finish the race because I earnestly hope to meet you in Heaven. I want a Heavenly /christian/ reunion.
To the non-Christians who have asked genuine questions over the months and years (and who probably aren't reading this), some of the best conversations I've had have been with you and I'm glad you came to ask them.
Don't take this as only some attack on the other poster. I've been wanting to write this for a while since there have been multiple negative posts lately. This was just the one that finally prompted me to do it. Maybe this is all a bit too faggy but it needed to be said.
Please think about this.

>To one board
Maybe because every time a group forms, some redditor decides he needs to be the discord moderator who moderates people's morality and plays god instead of working on a functional framework for discourse.
May I ask why that thread asking why people don't just begome ordodogs got merged into the slapfight thread? There was no slapfighting in it. OP asked the question very politely and he got polite responses. The thread also had merit as an independent thread since it asked a question that affects all of us in a very practical way (When do you go to another church and when do you stay where you are?). I can't imagine there are many anons here who haven't at least thought about it at some point so it's worth discussing.

More generally, what is the point of this policy of merging every thread that pops up into another thread? It's been going on for months now and all it's done is hide interesting topics by burying them somewhere you can't find them (doing this doesn't bump the receiving thread) and cluttering the QTDDTOT thread with obvious bait posts that really should just get deleted. I don't even go into the slapfight thread because I don't care for slapfights. I only found it again by going through my browser history. This board is nowhere near fast enough to warrant saving spots on the catalogue for old threads so I think this merging business can be done away with. It used to be applied to low effort, one line threads but now it's applied to practically any new thread that asks a direct question instead of being a general.
>May I ask why that thread asking why people don't just begome ordodogs got merged into the slapfight thread? There was no slapfighting in it. By the end of his post it devolved into "i hate nonorthodox" rambling and stopped being coherent. It's as if he didn't even try to make a thread that would create good discussion and just wanted to rant about his faith. Although looking back through the catalog it should've been merged with the Orthodox thread instead, I apologize.
Good threads are ones that encourage wider discussion that will go on for just more than a few posts. There are still some questions worth asking that don't need their own thread, that's what QTDDTOT is for. As for threads not being bumped after merging that's Lynxchan's fault, I'll make sure to bump it myself after merging posts.
>This board is nowhere near fast enough to warrant saving spots on the catalogue for old threads so I think this merging business can be done away with.
There are still old threads that people may want to go back and read, and every time a one-liner thread is made it bumps the last one off the catalog, and it can never come back from that. While I encourage users to use tools like Wayback and archive.today to save threads they like they shouldn't be expected or compelled to do so.
>It used to be applied to low effort, one line threads but now it's applied to practically any new thread that asks a direct question instead of being a general.
Because the majority of threads that are made are simple one-liners that don't need a thread. There are plenty of new threads being made that have encouraged wider discussion. Most of them simply don't need their own thread.
I will try to be more liberal with threads going forward and seeing if it encourages wider discussion, since that's not really my decision to make. I do ask that some effort be put into them however.

You're already choosing the proper path IMO.

Thanks for responding. I don't really agree but thanks anyway.
When are you going to release some documents which implicate the empire?

We've had some problems with spam in the past, and /retro/ being slid a couple months ago has made me a bit paranoid. Two threads per hour should be fine for now.

How do we get around corrupt moderation that bans even the mention of a chan within a split second, though?

Oh and another thing, >>23034 (OP)
I don't trust zzzchan.xyz, at least one of it's mods is a literal /leftypol/-tier janny. I guess if you decide to join zzzchan after all you could pray for that corrupt mod. Jesus does say for us to love our enemies after all. But I just thought I might warn you. I guess the soy-infused /leftypol/ cowards are invading all chans these days, so that they can obtain more free tickets to watch Marvel Star Wars soy cringe or whatever reward they're being offered.

Ehh, fair enough. I'm not shy about namefagging in general, I picked up the habit as an OG /b/tard. Generally I keep it to our own boards, however (where as a long-running engineering & design effort, it's entirely appropriate). In this specific case you're asking about me personally, so I'll namefag/put on a trip, as is appropriate.

So, I hope that clears up my views on that topic, Anon. (Not that I see what relation that habit has to /christian/ "went downhill").

Anything else?

Kek. I did exactly the opposite in the case of AntiChristHater69. I advocated for the BO to BOS. As for Tengu, he's clearly some kind of sh*tehead at the very least, and possibly a glowie. Who would delete their own board?

Regardless, this anon is either inventing this out of thin air for whatever his reasons are, or he's flat out lying. I did none of those things. Given his claim that I doxx people (complete horsesh*t), I'm inclined to think it's the latter.

Anything else?

Fair enough. BTW, thanks I was entirely unaware of these claims. I'm not especially following /k/'s doings regarding this closure of anon.cafe, nor their migration plans, so I wasn't following that thread. I'll go there and address that anon directly.

Hello cafe anons, glad to have you with us.
Excuse me, would anyone mind a thread about church design and maybe preference?
