Trench warfare is a big advantage for Russia. They can make shitloads more artillery shells than Ukraine. They're playing the long game and will win unless Ukraine can disrupt them somehow. That's why they keep lobbing drones at russian refineries, and whatever other targets.
Also the tanks Ukraine got from the west kept getting demolished by russian drones. There's shitloads of videos online that show it. So this can't be a maneuver war like the american military is used to fighting. It can only be an attrition meat grinder, which heavily favors Russia.
In reality, it's a very stupid war for Ukraine to fight. But they never asked themselves if it was a good idea to be the expendable proxy of the west. That's because they don't even have a legitimate government anymore since 2014. They have instead a puppet government installed by the CIA.
