It does not even go halfway down my back as I do not use conditioner, are male, and the sun harms it and it tears a lot during brushing. LIke if I use a bookbag or duffel bag over one shoulder one side ends up shorter. It gets more brittle the older it is. The back of my head is the most brittle as it gets the most soap and sunlight and it gets laid on the most and due to it being the thickest part of my hair I am the most rought with the back of my hair so it is not even shoulder length barely, lately anyway, whlie the sides are past my shoulder and the front, the bangs, are past my face but above shoulder level. The sides are the most gray/white/silver and so they grow faster with the back being the darkest. It gets into knots the most in the back, it is annoying tearing them out, and that is not even why it is short but it is futile expecting it to be long unless I change my diet, stop laying on my back, of which would hurt my back if I laid on mysides like I used to, changed my diet, and gave myself trims to make it longer so as to get rid of split ends and such. Also, it is curly so you can't even tell it's length depending on the weather conditions as my hair has moods. It can be frizzy, curly, or go into helixes, or all three at once, and is three colors of which are born, silver, and white, but can go bleach-blond if I stay in the sun too long, the sun highlight effect that turns my hair into straw, creating a fourth color. In the sunlight people think I'm blond due to the iridescent effect. It naturally only gets 10 to 18 inches long, each strand, and has never been 20+ inches long. In the back of my neck it's probably even shorter than 10 inches, it keeps getting more rough back there. It was the most neat when I first started going silver at 17 as some strands were literally three colors, brown at base, silver in center, and yellow at the end. The white came later. Old women are often jealous of my hair, men think the color is strange, Oriental women think it's cool, and the kids can't tell my age. Black women are all "we pay a lot of money for that". Guys with baseball hats indoors hate it. They don't say anything but I can tell.
tl;dr: Curly male hair does not get very long.
