And if the texture seems off, then toast it. I have to do this as well since I usually don't buy bread that's been processed with preservatives. If not kept it in the fridge or freezer it might start to mold over in the space of 2 or 3 days after purchasing it, lasting a bit longer if I bother to bake it myself.
