Best experiences I've had with what you say you desire, is in festivals in the woods where cellphones and cameras are FORBIDDEN and sometimes even checked at the gate in lockboxes that may be accessed at any time, but MUST remain off the field.
It takes a few days for the "World" to wear off, but then for at least a couple days,(five day Festivals,) you will have genuine interactions.
Bringing back these sort of events, Quarterly, makes rolling into "Off mundane time" all the easier.

you gotta 'member, ~80% of the pop. is highly programmable. that doesn't mean they don't have operable agency, just that they are "Hardwired" to survive by being part of the social "Collective", that "collective"made of myriad smaller sub-sets of "Clatches" all with their own "Trappings".
Take for instance the commercially manufactured "Need" for massively overpriced insulated BigMugs™®°...

In the most populous times we were in the hundred of millions, even in the last century we were like a billion, now 8 billions mostly jeets and people with medical retardation and illnesses. It's likely only the USA will collapse in the foreseeable future. This will wean people off the USD. For most other countries, especially places like Scandinavia, Switzerland, who are already prepared for this, it will be business more or less as usual. Although we will see a shift away from depending on the west, as we're already witnessing, and possibly more towards the east.

This is why the USA is starting wars as a final desperate attempt. The leaders don't really give a shit what happens to the country anyways, they're in it for short term personal gain. They profit heavily, even when they're losing.

A collapse of some kind is inevitable however. One possible scenario is most of the corporations will be erased, and those remaining will try to assume control over the vulnerable during this time.
