I don't have to worry about starting a new life. I'm buying some land that's prone to flooding so fuck it I'm gonna at least die trying.

Buy a cabin boat with the land so you can just sit there eating lentils and rice and other such cheap stuff so as to never have to leave. Make sure to have lots of solar panels, batteries, etc, to cook the stuff. Vitamin pills I guess but they don't work that well nor last that long, but for a time. Only dreams now. A 5v lightbulb here and there, 5v fan here and there or just insulate better, milar bags, 5v tiny computer(s), you would never have to come back. If stove burner can be powered on, if you had water filtration of some kind too, how much do tiny computer components and lentils + rice + vits pills even cost? The boats are often free and so it's only the land that mattered in terms of severe cost.

I am jealous.
Low placed land? The biggest problem is the access to clean water, because surface water carries all kinds of shit possible.

I'm thinking of collecting rainwater.

Then find a way of keeping bird droppings and insects out of it. And keep its reservoir in the dark, otherwise you would have algae in it.

If he has access to stone, building a stone platform would be the final solution to the flood problem.

>bird droppings
Not something permanent, but only deployed when rains.
>insects
Pick a proper filter grade.
