Where I work they've been told, people there longer htan me that never go up the food chain, that to be promoted to man positoin they have to quit and reapply first. Despite this they often don't even post the position online hence it's really for tokens and or a nepotism thing.

Min wage workers get fired to make the more important management positions safer. Not OP though. In reality the min wage worker doesn't need to be there and they should just make the managers do everything in their down time rather than them sit there talking and or leaving early, they are on the payroll rather than paid by the hour often, managers. They should be there all day and be fired when they cannot handle it rather than get such cheap help then fire the cheap help and then get moar cheap help as min wage is the most competitive of all jobs to go after despite it being entry level. I agree though, as things are human being should not live.
