Can anyone more knowledgeable in internet drama and faggotry tell me? How common is it for a main administrator of a community (say, forum) to ban a member from the community even if he's rule abiding and contributes a lot to the community, nonetheless a mod or another admin, just because of a petty quarrel that happened off-site in private between them?
Extremely common. Happens all the time.

there's a reason why mods = fags is a meme
>>242366 (OP)
It depends on the format more than you might think. Discord, Internet Bulletin Boards, Usenet, any place namefagging is common, so faggy behavior follows.
The medium is the massage.

This is extremely common. It's how my favorite video game community died. Faggotry largely overlaps with dark triad personality traits and pedophilia. Homos and leftists thrive in namefag communities and office jobs. They like to backtalk, spread rumors, blackmail, and attention whore. The solution to it is to stay anonymous, not tolerate fags, and avoid drama communities.

Well said.

No, this applies to literately everyone.

Touhou.. It's overrun with cheating elitists, attention whores, and aggressive pedos/groomers. They have wrath against all good players. They like to apply the Law of Jante against anyone that isn't part of their cult while giving themselves a free pass. It's a result of primarily being on Discord, 4chan, and Twitch all of which are designed to train people to be evil along with having a game that takes a lot of time and effort to get good at while being easy to cheat in. Modern "superplayers" use replay editing and dodgebots. It's completely devalued any achievement. You can practice for years to get a run and some faggot will stitch a replay together and use it to feed his ego. The secondaries were right all along.

There is a similar issue with other interests/hobbies, such as drawing. Artists are whining about a similar thing, how they spent 6 gorillion hours learning to draw but the Artificial Jew can steal their style and shit out pictures with it in a matter of minutes.
While I can understand the frustration, I think that ultimately if you practice a hobby just because you actually like doing it (as opposed to seeking clout or shekels), it shouldn't matter too much.

Homos and leftists thrive in any community that lacks proper gatekeeping and moderation to snuff out bad actors.
The Real life equivalent to such a community would be a society with open borders. I.E Europe and the US.

I'm sorry for your lots, Anon
Actual competition died with the Greeks. Cheating has always been rampant, see professional sports. The Tour De France is a good starting point since the cheating there has been documented from the very inception. Academic cheating and fraud is also a major problem, just do a web search for "replicability / reproducibility / replication crisis."
I've played competitive FPS for decades now and the state of play has only gotten worse with each passing year. The developers themselves started rigging the games around 2007 or so with "multiplayer dynamic difficulty adjustments." I only play against bots now and even those fuckers cheat. I would recommend going on /v/ and finding an Anon who shares the hobby, an honest rival or newbie would probably be more entertaining than discord faggots. It's a shame that the webring has such a low population.
Everything is fake and gay in this Eternal Current Year.

The problem with gatekeeping is you need to actually identify the nigger faggots and not scorched earth tactics and do the nigger faggot's job for them.

It's the same thing with learning languages. You can spend over 9000 years learning rune magic only for deepjew to do it better. It sucks for translators.
>While I can understand the frustration, I think that ultimately if you practice a hobby just because you actually like doing it (as opposed to seeking clout or shekels), it shouldn't matter too much.
This is a good point. It encourages players to reevaluate whether they are playing for the wrong reasons. It puts the focus on the game and not the players.
>>242504
They thrive wherever there's a rigid social hierarchy based on people having unfair power over others and they're able to use their hypocritical false morality to spread rumors and harass others. An example is trying to get an employee fired from a company for saying their own can do better than illegals or raqueshes. They're the types that'll call you racist while discriminating against you for being a citizen of your own country.
>>242566
I too am sorry for your lots. Can't say I'm familiar with competitive FPS but it sounds like a shitty situation. Most video games are just spreadsheets with graphics over them. A game loop and a renderer. It's sad to think about how easy it is to cheat. Now that I'm older, I see through the spell and see games for their data. I think more about how games were intended to be played instead of what I expect from them.
>It's a shame that the webring has such a low population.
Maybe we should crowdfund an advertising campaign.

The small part of me still capable of empathy understands how that must be frustrating.
The vastly larger misanthropic jaded part says

Nah, knowing languages is more of a utility thing, and even if it can be helpful for hobbies, for most people the act of learning languages itself is not a hobby/competition. It would be good if "deepjew" was actually good at translating. Though ultimately translation is inherently flawed and causes a loss of meaning, especially for completely different languages like burgerspeak and moonspeak (and no translation tool can fix this), and also there are many situations where you want to comprehend the language on the fly instead of waiting for the Artificial Jew to shit out a translation, so there will always be a niche for people learning different languages.
>It sucks for translators.
Translators are dogs who deserve nothing.

The worst is to have learned Japanese just well enough to know the subtitles are frequently wrong and stupid, but not well enough to watch without subtitles. And not have the time or inclination to fix the situation because it's supposed to be down time not study time.

It sucks when you start learning a language as a kid because you're disenfranchised with the bland and demoralizing shit you're exposed to and continue because of sunk costs. People change a lot over time and lose their motivation. Learning a language is a lifelong challenge even for one's native language and it's best done by people who intend to continue practicing it for the rest of their lives. Think about if you really want to be stuck with your decision in the distant future.

If you're going to learn Japanese, make sure to get the whole picture. Don't just focus on anime, video games, and music. Learn about Japanese culture, etiquette, history, geography, literature, art, tradition, holidays, cooking, and so on. If that doesn't sound appealing, it's probably not for you. It's probably a bad idea to start learning it unless you intend to live with someone that speaks it and travel to Japan. Learning how to speak is faster than learning how to read and write and will make doing so faster.

it's just not worth it the amount of effort put in and the rewards you get for doing so is basically almost non existent
a handful of games and knowing what the fuck is being said without subtitles without having to even think or relisten and look up words
I'd rather undubs when playing games still but there's no real reason for anyone practically to learn it

this world is fucked and the people likely next to you are completely fucking worthless because they only want the easiest solution and will avoid teaching children from a young age another language
despite that it makes no logical sense no matter where in the world you live
