Nip horror movies are usually good or at least better than most western shit. There's typically less focus on gore and more focus on making you extremely uncomfortable.

The thing, hellraiser, and the descent are good, but they don't even scare me as much as mulholland drive did, and people don't even put that as a horror movie. But all of those together, perfect blue beats them as one of the scariest movies I've seen, mainly for the soundtrack. And again people don't put that as a horror movie either.

It is, but it plays it straight and is pretty dark.
The body horror is pretty creepy as well, really fun movie, the Starship Troopers tier  propaganda ads are really great too.
All I'm saying is that Nip stuff isn't the end all in terms of movies, for example, Versus (2000) is another movie that sucks balls, especially in terms of horror.
Some really good nip horror movies, not understating that, but pretending like they're above stuff in other countries is being a biased cocksucker.

You should check some Italian, French and Korean horror.
Chinks also have some ok stuff, mostly due to aestehtics since they live in a hellhole, lol.
