Those examples don't look very convincing. They're not fuck ugly like 90% of westoid animation, but the average anime still has 9999 times cuter and more beautiful designs. Case in point is a random seasonal anime screenshot from an episode I just finished watching, which makes every other image in this thread look laughable.
I will explain the reason, which is very simple. The Japanese aim for objective neoteny/cuteness/beauty, while westoids have this hyper-individualistic mindset of trying to make their art look "different" on purpose even if they have to sacrifice objective beauty.

I agree it looks cuter, but after the 100th anime with the same style, it becomes bland and boring. I like it when animus have their own style, which makes them stand out, like Kaiji or characters like Tome Kurata from Mob Psycho 100.
Alternatively, I enjoy when cuteness isn't the main focus, as having it being the concurrent theme makes it harder to appreciate. For example, I always enjoyed how in Hokuto no Ken, Lin is a breath of air from all the tense fighting and ultra-violence. Makes her moments on screen more impactful.
