literaly me but in 2024
I don't know if it's only rock and metal but it feels like every 50 year old band made a comeback with a new album around the late 2010s for some reason, even though they are in their 70s.
Maiden, Priest, Megadeth, BOC.
Even Queen did a tour last year with a faggot to take the place of Freddie Mercury.

Megadeth and even Priest have been out albums pretty consistently over the years bro, may wanna check Wikipedia next time.
And yeah you never stop being metal or having the rock attitude where zoomers can't really be that. Plus all those names are big with metalheads who are like 40+ on average lmao. It's not teenager music anymore, it's middle aged Gen X music.

They have but It's usually rarely mentioned among its fans. Like the Blaze Maiden albums.

You can still find some young blood in metal concerts but yeah, and most teens that listen to metal stick to a subgenre like nu and death.

Most people are gonna stick to the classics that defined the genre. Maiden and Metallica are Wal-Mart metal to me but I can't truly talk shit on em when they influenced Metal at large, just not something I'm gonna inch towards normally.
>nu and death
I'm largely in the Death/grind crowd in my late 20s. It's a mix of gen x'ers, millennial ex-deathcore guys and teens that watch J-Dawg. The nu-metal revival attracted some of the nastiest most brainrotted faggots alive because it's the closest metal can get to zoomer appeal. The Dawg's funny even when he's giving retarded takes on anything that's not the Tish.

Wal-mart carries Metallica, AC/DC and Iron Maiden where I live and at one sold point Iron Maiden T-shirts, hence the name "Wal-mart metal". Basically if it's on your local rock radio station, your wal-mart probably carries their CDs.

Nah Maiden and Priest have credibility for advancing the genre as do pre-And Justice... Metallica. Poserdom is lacking the mindset for metal music which is why nu-metallers and Pantera fanboys were called posers for so long.
The kind of people who flocked to nu-metal and -core care too much about being socially acceptable while being safe edgy, and millennials were the earliest digital natives besides SA-era Gen Xers to have this mindset so it became normalized.
Nu-metal or emo rock don't speak to socially alienated people who are misanthropic and hate normalfags. Black Metal, RAC and most NS focused music from the modern age do speak to them for a reason.
