"Apps" for learning are a meme. Well, pretty much anything created specifically for learning Japanese is, whether it is textbooks, or courses, or '"'games'"', or whatever.
The main bulk of learning Japanese is listening/reading/watching material by natives for natives and consulting definitions of unknown words, just like any other language, and things like kanji don't make it any different in that aspect.
It's good to read a grammar guide in the beginning and memorize the most common/basic vocabulary using an "app", but after a point it's just a waste of time.
>Do you plan to visit Japan when you become fluent, anon?
I'm not against the idea, but I don't really have any plans, and generally I don't enjoy traveling too much.
