Why are Japanese female writers so into making Chinese themed works? is it just another case of women loving foreigners? or some autistic Japanese tradition?

Wasn't it the opposite back in the day (hundreds of years ago)? Where it was more common for men to write about China?

I assume you mean works like the Tale of Genji, the reason is that women back then were less educated than men, so they didn't study Chinese or get to read Chinese books. it's an entirely different subject.

It's exotic but not too exotic. And a lot of the domestic webnovel->manga->anime pipeline content is in a death spiral where two-dimensional trash is being adapted now. Standing out from all that shallow garbage is harder if you aren't just straight up up and leaving the cliché-ridden settings. There's more potential for novelty, exploring new things, and standing out by doing this and China is still close enough to Japan that they don't have to worry as much about being completely clueless and retarded when trying to explore their society and culture. Chinese stuff is also getting more internationally popular these days.

If you're wondering why they aren't doing Korean shit like that then, it's because South Korea does it better and they'd sooner just adapt Korean manhwas into Japanese animes in the first place. That is ugly competition for a Japanese writer doing Korea-themed stuff.

>FMA manga artist/writer was female
>bringing this up to let me know because there were Chink characters when the nation's names were not even real nation names
Thanks for ruining shit for me OP.

You already know that due to evolutionary biology that women don't get triggered by invasion like men do as they get raped to survive and they are thus evolved to get off on that or they would not even be so short and weak. If someone invades you and fucks you they must be of strong blood, her mission is the make strong children without regard to ethics.

That’s too obvious, they hate koreans. Gooks are rarely present in animanaga, heck arabs get mentioned more.

That may have been part of it historically, but dude, Japanese studios are straight up licensing Korean manhwas (like Solo Leveling) to make into animes.

Yes, this only happened recently because they got desperate and there’s an overseas market for anime now. Regarding Solo Leveling japs boycotted the anime and the blu ray sold like shit.

I have to imagine the only people who liked it were koreans and normal fags
>see dub clips of that dog shit on the tube

Do you have sources for that? Because I've been searching around and google is being useless fucking cancer.

Most I can find is that Solo Leveling had some serious nationalism and anti-Japan themes and a controversy emerged from how the anime tried to soften it. Is that what you're talking about?

There was an arc where the japanese hunters backstabbed the gooks and left them to the monsters, japs got mad over it saying it portrayed them as untrustworthy and is basically ani-japan sentiment.
They got mad because solo leveling was adapted in the first place.

Oh, so it was about that arc. I guess Germans are way better at putting up with that kinda shit than Japanese. Meanwhile the Chinese are the first ones when it comes to portraying their own country's leadership as filled with scheming vipers. Well, I imagine for many Japanese Solo Leveling was in the category of "fun to watch but awkward to own." Feels like they bungled a Korean Blu-Ray release though, or perhaps these numbers are more regional than you'd think.
