The problem with that line of thinking, is that it's a very similar to the thought patterns of domestic abusers; it's a particularly "mother-in-law" form of thinking to act like the 0.01% needs to baby the 99.99% because 1% of the 99.9% is retarded in some form. Sure, statistically 1% is a lot compared to 0.01% but it still vastly irrepresentative of the population.

The reason climate change is so disputed has a multitude of factors:
1. Self-centered people thinking that what is around them is representative of everywhere else.
2. The most polluted areas are from places and people who are the least willing to consider that there is even a problem at all.
3. Most climate activism focuses on making mountains out of molehills instead of actually fixing real problems.
4. Big money hypocritically whitewashes itself with "eco-friendly" tripe, but happily forces engineered-obsolecence, which is not only grossly wasteful, it's exchanging short-term financial gain for long-term deficit: People actually -do- get tired of spending money on expensive shit that's gonna break or be unusable in a few years.

The thing is. The absolute dream-state of the narcissist is much-in-line with Warframe's Orokin: Immortality, being worshipped as a god, enslaving those below you, and the power to do whatever you want, karma-be-damned.
But the thing is, reality is far from 1984- even during the actual year itself. As much they've done, the elite have managed to blow-out so much of their Op/Info/Com/Per Secs in one year that the only explanation is that something controlling them has been utterly fucked, or they really are that stupid in the first place.
All they have left is fear. Fear of pain, fear of death, fear of reprisal, fear of betrayal, fear of losing everything and fear of the truth.
Fear is their bludgeon and their shackle. They know how hard they've fucked up, so they're trying to hide their weaknesses with noise, lies and fear.
I'm keeping my eyes out for Dec 21th. Something real interesting is gonna happen that day. In fact, I have a feeling we'll see some legitimate treason charges for some bigwigs among the elite down the line.
