Oh, so you always read every line of the JS script code that you're running on every page, to make sure it's not doing anything nefarious? Because I don't think that's realistically possible in today's world. At most you're blocking scripts with a browser add-on, but fat chance of you actually reading the code that you're allowing to run. Nobody does this except some "security researchers" when they're looking for exploits (or making new exploits, for job security purposes).
And besides, the fact that your browser is so fat and and full of bullshit and also has a huge lists of other dependencies that are also bloated, is itself another risk. Have you audited all those lines of code? Because the more of it there is, and the faster it changes, the harder it is to audit that big pile of crap, which is still there even if you turn JS off.
So that's why gopher is superior. It's about as smol and simple as you can get while still being useful for something.
