Since COVID, but beginning long before hand, families across America have been drifting apart. Family gatherings have become more race every year. It's not uncommon in the current year for even closely related family members like first cousins to never see each other.

I've experienced this personally. My family was extremely close up until 2020. Then, one great aunt died (not from COVID, btw). After that, the family has literally stopped having reunions and no one talks to each other anymore. Apparently, this one woman was the only thing holding the family together. Now we're scattered across the cosmos with no interaction. I'm one of the few people who even calls my relatives anymore.

Did you experience this?

I am not sure if you were born but companies used to move the entire workforce not just the headquarters to a new location sometimes across the country, you were forced to either move or quit, not as common as in the 70's to 90's partly why the rust belt exist now.

That should have been illegal since it destroys rootedness and is a symptom of globalism.
Obviously, this is impotent whining about the past, but we need to get into the mentality where we see something that is objectively bad and want to make it illegal, even if it violates some arcane law of capitalism.

Mmmm anything against capital is communism, and thus should not be listened to. Your biological interest < capital, it is like physics, can't be argued with

Can't say I have. I expect about 40 relatives at my house for Thanksgiving this year.

When the boomers die off, no one will be left alive who genuinely believes this.
Once that happens, politics is going to get very interesting again.

I envy you.
