One of the biggest reasons 2011 was so great.

Let's see here he'll tell you to fuck off to reddit or some shit, you'll respond, a couple other people will call this a "cuckchan template thread" and then you'll either be banned and have your thread deleted or you'll be ignored, in which case you'll either self-bump until you finally get bored or you'll give up.

As a person who owns the 3DS and played the hell out of it, it's a fucking piece of shit. Parts of it break faster than your waifu in the dungeon and it runs like complete dogshit. It has about 2 worthwhile exclusives and everything else is either ported off of it or shit.

The dpad on the Lite is the worst one I've ever used. The one on the original was pretty much perfect. And of course they stuck with the Lite one, because it sold so much. Every Nintendo product for at least a decade had the same shit tiny, loose and unresponsive dpad. And if that wasn't enough, the Lite was unpleasant to hold for more than a few minutes unless you had literal toddler-sized hands. Better screens is pointless if the controls are so bad.

i still to this day loathe whoever thought the fucking circle pad was a good design, like the minute you touched it you knew it was gonna break in like 5 days. any sane game developer knew this and still let you use the analog for movement.
i will say that if you happened to get an XL or even, for some ungodly reason, a New XL with nintendo's gay marketing that they're both fine homebrew machines with screens that won't kill your eyes
I use mine mostly to emulate DS games.

It's been 3 posts and yet you haven't explained anything about the topic you've made a thread about. Why was the original 3DS so memorable? Is it the shape of the hardware you like so much about it, or the components themselves? Did you play any games on the console, or was it exclusively for staring purposes? Are the rest of the 3DS models irredeemable pieces of shit and why? I own a New 3DS XL, are you going to ask me to dunk it into the can? Why the fuck did you bring up the year 2011? What was so great about it? Did the hardware release of the original 3DS become a turning point in your life? Was it something completely different that made that year for you? Did you have your balls fondled by your PE teacher in middle school, hence why you recall 2011 so much? Why should anyone give a shit about what years do you like or not?
A day worth of daylight has gone since you've posted the OP and yet I'm here pulling out the entire thread sentence by sentence from your mouth; three posts and you haven't provided a single point worth of discussion. You've made a thread declaring that you like the original 3DS model and the year 2011 then walked up and left. Haven't spared a single thought on why any of these things are because they're clearly inviolable truths everyone on this planet is revealed to in birth.
What the fuck do you want anyone to discuss here? That's merely your opinion and your opinion is worthless. It's worthless, of course, unless you make your train of thought known to anyone reading to understand what you like or dislike about the 3DS, and then proceed to have someone refute your post or approve it, but you didn't. I could print a copy of your thread's OP and wipe my ass with it next time I take a trip to the shitter, and that would bring more conclussion to this discussion than anything the two neurons residing inside your cranium can type. If anything you're simply hoping for some anon's goodwill to invent a discussion for your deadbeat, insipid sorry excuse of an existence.
I know this thread is deliberately shit, and 520d21 is bullshitting everyone here, but my rant is honest and this thread's still not worth anyone's time. I refuse to believe there's anyone on this planet that would type out that bland, dull single sentence, hit the [New Thread] form and not be aware that their thread is fucking garbage. There's hopefully no one on the habitable landmass of Earth like this, but even I know that's just wishful thinking.

shieeeeeeeeet LBP 2 was so cash money
>so many fucking cool and original custom levels a lot of which rivaling the original story mode levels
>spending a fuckload of time grinding the hours on the moon for the platinum trophy.
>before "lethal sackboy" the was patched out you could make your sackboy have hazards as his costume and literally kill other players/enemies/story characters by touching them and also making you immune to said hazard.
>cheesing the last level with to beat it without deaths for the cheevo
>refusing to explain how to do it to a kid until he bought me a game on psn with his mom's credit card
>making a working "ghillie suit" costume which actually your sackboy look like a background plant
>headlight and evil eyes which glowed in the dark
>hide and seek levels
>"horror" levels
>all those hideous emo/scene looking female costumes
>punching other sackboys
>cardboard spaceship hub had working physics
>making a shitty ass level and forcing random joiners to play it and rate it for the cheevo
good fucking times, shame I never bought a no games station 4 to try LBP 3 out

I thought everyone had the same idea as me and that I was bringing up some forgotten memory that’s connected to a lot of different things about the original 3DS and what happened or how it felt in the year 2011. I was reluctant to post because I knew I didn’t have anything to say but I thought everyone else did. I should have lurked more and gave more thought to my post. To me though 2011 and also 2012 felt like a brief return of the 90’s and consumer electronics, website designs, media, video games, had an attention to detail and elegance that was modern but still had something about the past in them that was good or whatever I don’t really understand why I think this way. The 3DS seemed like the best example of this and I liked all it’s interactive features as well and I don’t consider them gimmicks, well they probably did feel like gimmicks in a lot of games but not in the ones I was playing such as these.

2010-2012 were when skeuomorphic UIs objectively peaked, then the final Xbox 360 UI redesign and Wangblows 8 started the flattening which was practically made into law by the time Dup won the election.

The 3DS had this badge arcade which let you win custom game sprites to customize your menu. Not to mention the thousand of customs themes which people keep making even today.
Then the switch replaced it with such a sterile and boring layout with no background music.

The 2DS was very often on sale for $100 or less and just didn't have the 3D effect but could play all the games.
Is there a list of official 3DS games with retroactive DEI applied through updates?
The Ace Attorney prequels are the only ones that spring to mind.
The only good thing about the 3DS was the homebrew scene. The first party lineup was pretty weak all around but 3DSiso was an S-tier forum and always had something new and interesting.

Has anyone accomplished anything intuitive and interesting with a flashed 3DS? Besides game ports, emulators, booting the linux kernal, or dumb shit like making the notification light cycle colors of the rainbow.
Apparently you can use moonlight game streaming with a N3ds but my recently flashed one is just a regular 3ds. I’ll have to try it on my vita instead. I’ve just been flipnoting and porting honestly. I’ll let ya know if I think of anything more substantial.

The 3DS uses a J27H02301 WLAN chip from FOXCONN. The FCC filing says it only uses up to 802.11g (though it also supports 802.11b and 802.11 but these are slower) meaning it can have a MAX speed of 54 Mbps.
The 3ds is the best console ever because it has 3d

I don't think the 2011 was THAT great, but to me, pic related was the highlight of 2011.
It wasn't perfect, but damn it was so good.
It was also packed of content in an era were companies like Crapcom were full into scamming their customers with having more paid content than shit into the base game.

Ok but fr what was even on this system? I'm just now delving into its library since I dropped out of gaming when Uncharted and GoW were still in the picture. It seems like the best games on the 3DS are just ports of the N64 Zelda titles, which just confirms my suspicions that nothing that has come out in the last decade has been worthwhile.
Seriously I tried playing Metroid: Samus Returns. The Metroid II remake. Metroid is my favorite series. I would fuck Samus retarded. Anyways AM2R completely blows it out of the water. The controls and handling feel like ass. The difficulty is nonexistent. Shit is just hard to see. I mean just look at how awful that leg floating in the air looks in 3D.

True
AM2R > Mercury Steam garbage
Mercury Steam is like DotEmu, they just got to work on Metroid because they saw Nintendo was doing NOTHING with it and it was a good IP to exploit so they could have a job.
But it's clear that they don't understand the series, they just copied the previous games (badly) with a fresh coat of paint.
I think retro should have worked on the Metroid 2 remake and Dread, they nail the sci-fy/horror aspect of Metroid unlike the goofy shit Mercury Steam makes.
AM2R was just so good.

You claim you haven't touched videogames ever since the PS3 launch but you type like you ride your electric scooter to school and you have a massive overbite.
>what was even on this system?
Like I'm telling you :^) I can't think of any game that stands out on the machine. It's either remakes or rehashes of yearly franchise, which are serviceable but nothing special. Both Mii games are largely gimmicks you'll shelve after a few hours, though I haven't touched the JRPG department on it. I can't say much about it other than my 3DS model now being worth more than a new Switch.
>that leg floating in the air
That's the devs being fucking lazy and not applying inverse kinematics to the model. Almost every 3D videogame nowadays does it, and I know I've seen Ratchet bend his knee on sloped terrains on the PS2.

No, they weren't. Both of them were bland games that rehashed the Wii one's formula just like NSMB games sucked each other off. Kirby games overstayed their welcome when they stopped pushing hardware limitations with huge ass sprites and sheer programming magic.

It may seem like the 3DS is forgettable garbage that doesn’t have a lot going for it, but what it lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality, or at least a really particular novelty. Were none of you impacted by the home menu, the splash screens for games and their intro music, the system apps and user interface with that inspired futuristic professionalism of that time, all the ways different games incorporated streetpass, Miiverse (huge deal), the way developers would acknowledge the different inputs of the 3DS at key moments in their game, all the different special editions and versions, and most importantly the culture of owning a 3DS and the special bonds you’d have with other people that had one? It was just super fun to me for those reasons and I thought it was a highly interesting system even though most people used it for Pokéshit, which was still really good anyways.
