It's almost that time of year folks, but I'm not going to bail you out with streaming it since I promised I wouldn't to avoid drama and because I have a life now.

>What is Uncommon Time?
It's a bad RPGMaker game made by a sexually-ambiguous girlboy that has been streamed bi-annually for the past six years now, usually once in December and again in the first(?) week of August. It has notoriously bad writing that is laughable at best and infuriating at worst.

>Why should I care?
It's a forced tradition that's guaranteed fun and typically generates a decent amount of content, already having at least three fan games, two rewrites plus mine, an alleged voice acted production, some fan fiction which is kind of gay, and a lot more art and macros that it deserves. That is, so long as it's streamed.
>Who's streaming?
I don't know who or even if it will be streamed; this sort of thing is never really organized to my knowledge. The first one was this schizoid named Lolioasis who eventually fell into drunken insanity and then disappeared. The second streamer is Thassil, who may or may have not committed suicide by now. The third streamer, Teaganbestgirl, has only streamed for the winter and is almost certainly a homosexual. I picked up the mantle for a December-January stream and my only crime has been having shit taste in music as far as I'm concerned. While I can't stream, I don't mind setting up a cytube room since I had some pretty nice CSS and a good amount of emotes that should almost all be preserved, and I may be able to share some OBS scene configs if anyone is interested in those, but I really wouldn't know how to even go about that since I don't do this often. I should also be able to get some moderators to help mitigate some spam if that's an issue that comes up, so that should alleviate 90% of the pressure.

In the meantime, feel free to ask questions about streaming if you're interested as well as post any discussion about the game and the content that has come from it. I know the turn-based tactics spinoff has been going quite well and that rewrite guy has been keeping a fairly consistent devlog.

It's been six years already, huh? It doesn't even feel that long ago since the last stream.
1) How gay is it?
It's made by a tumblr jewess so it's pretty fucking gay.
2) How much fun/anger would a first timer experience?
It's a lot of fun, but also rage inducing.
3) How long does it last?
55 hours.
4) Seriously, how gay is it? The use of the term "sexually ambiguous girlboy" has me worried I will waste my time watching actual faggotry because 4niggers thought it was le based epic troll fun.
It's made by an insane tumblr jewess that rights horrible fanfiction of undertale and alpha cocks. The main character is a spic mutt author self insert, a trans something, a guy in a dress, a whore, and a strawman asexual tomboy who the author has said hates video games because /v/ hated her self insert and loved the strawman. What else is there to say?
Replies: >>67854 >>67957
i refuse to give spoilers, other than that streams of the base game usually last very long even with cheats it's an RPGmaker game with grinding REQUIRED, think like yiik, and that it's the tale of how your average tumblrtard jewess unironically thinks, and how an amazing character was built from that.
i refuse to tell how, because it's an experience you need to see for yourself. even if you dislike people playing actual, unironic tumblr games just to shit on them, this one character this tumblrfag made as a strawman makes it all the worthwhile.

It's been a while since I've watched UT, and I've actually played yiik, but I don't think anything wastes your time as much as yiik does.
The writing in that was crafted as carefully as possible to constantly re-deliver information in the slowest, wordiest and least interesting way possible.

Whoever plays this had better do the Retuned demo too or I'll be mad.

>How gay is it?
The creator is a Jewess, the characters are based on herself and her social group and it's an RPG Maker game with vanilla RPG Maker combat.
It's kind of like MST3K but spread out over like a weekend of afternoons. Most anger is from the braindead writing and strmfag invariably shitting the bed at some point.
>How long does it last?
UT overstays its welcome so it takes a while. As long as you see the Nuclear Teagan scene (why anyone bothers with this crap) you don't need to feel obligated to watch the entire thing. Traditionally the streamer plays the vanilla game, then one of the antisemitic mods like Duet or Coda which I'm sure will get posted in this thread.
>Seriously, how gay is it?
The creator is a Jewess.

I know the feeling. My shitty learning to animate hobby involves using characters from UT as practice in hopes that I one day achieve enough autism/skill to make a cutscene of the coda ending for fun.

Also everytime I load up AA2 Unlimited, I can’t stop myself from adding a Teagan to the class as an unlewdable reliable bro character.

Someone just needs to step the fuck up because I don't have the time anymore now that I'm a wagie. If you have the time to watch it you have the time to stream it. Other anons can help manage the rest of it. I got assistance with moderation, CSS, and tech support, it's not a one man endeavor.

>1) How gay is it?
The protagonist is a lesbian in a relationship with a non-binary chick whose pronouns are introduced before her their name, the deuteragonist is asexual, the first new addition to your party is a crossdressing man, and the second an underage nymphomaniac.
>2) How much fun/anger would a first timer experience?
A lot of the game is quite boring, but most of the scenes are pretty fucking baffling. You will also get angry, and I mean actually angry. I livened up the dull parts with having a speech-synthesis program reading the creators fan fiction, which is a whole other beast.
>3) How long does it last?
I think I had to play it over five days or so in 6-7 hour segments, so quite long. I played a re-balanced version without the usage of CheatEngine until it got to the point where it became downright unfair. It does overstay its welcome as the other anon has said
>4) Seriously, how gay is it? The use of the term "sexually ambiguous girlboy" has me worried I will waste my time watching actual faggotry because 4niggers thought it was le based epic troll fun.
It's preachy-gay, not watching-Ru-Paul-gay. There's no real sexual depictions of anything other than some semi-nude drawings of girls, it's just that the way characters talk and think is very much self-inserting and agenda-driven. Then there's the fan fiction, which is a whole other beast. It also gets edgy.

Don't tease me like this.

Imageboards are pretty much the only place where UT has any popularity so all the art is contained on the infinity booru.
Replies: >>67906
I still want to revive one of the failed fangame attempts. It eventually turned into Die Totenmaske and several of its devs work on Peripeteia nowadays, but it had some cool ideas of its own and could be a genuinely good game after some tweaking and cutting the fetishfag's godawful OCs. Seriously, the dude wanted to ship Teagan with this donut steel cowboy and was really fucking vocal about his latex muscle nun knight OC being a major party member.
Oh boy.
Your post and >>67901 reminds me of something. For a while I've thought about making an IPFS fansite compiling all the Uncommon Time art, fangames, and weird lore I can find from these threads and various ex-fangame developers. Does this sound like a good idea to anyone?
Replies: >>67911 >>67922
I find it amazing and scary how the internet can meme/force something into popularity or infamy, regardless of the quality. Imageboards with Uncommon Time is like a small slice of that. JonTron and Flex Tape is another example of this.
Replies: >>67907 >>67912
Sometimes all you need is passion, and a desire to do good work anon.
Not sure what that is but most anything sounds better than another obscure booru where you'll be the only one uploading anything and nothing is tagged.
Replies: >>67913
I honestly don't think that got popular solely because of Jontron. It was already a really palatable (because everyone knows the commercial) memeable thing so it probably took off once someone posted it on social media.
It's basically bittorrent on steroids except different torrents with the same files share seeders and you can seed websites with it.

>How gay is it?
Most of the characters are some variety of faggot or tranny and they spend most of the game whining about their feelings instead of getting shit done and this is what makes Teagan's nuclear scene so wonderful

>How much fun/anger would a first timer experience?
I only watched it for the first time at the end of last year and it was a ton of fun. Even if you don't understand the memes at first you will as you watch, and there's a lot of shitposting to be had. It's kind of like E3 where the game itself can be pretty dull but the experience of watching with /v/ makes it fun.

Ah yes, I remember that. I've been coming up with concepts for a game for a few years now that I'd like to run by someone sometime, maybe by next stream. The most radical departure is the world-building, as Harmonia is now an early 20th century equivalent to Singapore. All the character backstories and the general story will remain the same, though I do want to change some of the characterizations a bit..
Replies: >>67927 >>68052
>I do want to change some of the characterizations a bit
How so, make Alto less insane and Meirin less of a whore?
Replies: >>67940
It's actually the opposite, at least for the most part. I have two objectives; the first is to fix the worldbuilding and the second is to flesh out the characters so they're perceived how they were intended to be. The former is the easier of the two because I'm taking a lot of creative liberties with the worldbuilding since I think it's shit. The latter is going to be a bit harder and more controversial because I'm going to be writing Alto in a way that rationalizes how she's turned out without rationalizing her actions, but I have some great ideas about her character and the dynamic between her and Teagan that I don't want to spoil. It'll be a pretty significant change to the story but it will all play out the same in the end. The only real change I'm going to make is Saki is now more ambiguous about his sex, and is no longer Japanese nor a manlet.

It was a little mystery last session as to why something like BGO had Alto in it at all. Last year's streamer used a modded copy of the game where the XP curves were literally set as generously as RPG Maker lets you set them. You should probably use that so you can get more of the full "experience" without being forced to cheat outright.

No search results on my end for UT cheats/mods, can anyone provide a download link?

>I know there's scanmem and gameconqueror
I'll look into them, any guides would be much appreciated.

You could all just agree on the music beforehand and forget about music skipping completely mid-stream.
Just make sure to play the right stuff at the appropriate times. Like Nuclear during Teagan's speech, and The Many quotes when Aubrie shows up.
Here's some downloads:
This is Duet, the version of the game with the modded extra ending and reduced level curve.
A save file that's at the right point to go into the duet ending.
Coda, an intensely autistic followup to one of the game's other endings. This one's a standalone RPGmaker game.
And most importantly, the latest official version of Uncommon Time, updated in October 2019. Duet was made with an earlier version, so if you're going to play the game you should use this one since it has some updates and extra content that I think hasn't been streamed before since people used the duet version or didn't realise there was extra stuff.
I only ever used it once but I remember it was as simple as cheat engine, just increase/decrease the value until you narrow it down to one.
>agree on the music
Besides, what's the fun if I can't spam my playlist of post-avant jazzcore and japanese microtonal hell music?

Oh fuck I actually remember trying this with a game years ago, way too tedious!

Just have every anon suggest a track and I'll play it. I don't get the whole skip thing, you can only skip before/after the stream anyway.

The way I dealt with music was to have a separate cytube room where anons could add their picks and then I'd take the reins whenever I wanted to. It made the process a lot easier because I didn't have to pause the game every time a song ended. Just to let you know, you should have CheatEngine because the game will fuck you at some point. RPGMaker stores health values as n * 2 + 1 if I recall correctly.

Is that the borked version of Duet? There's a missing trigger that will softlock the game during Duet and also in Ending 4.

>Anon, at that point, why not just make your own story and setting?
The best way I can frame this is that it's like watching Batman 1989 and The Dark Knight. It's still, for the most part, the same story. I've gone beyond ironically liking Uncommon Time to unironically liking Uncommon Time. I literally think about it on a daily basis and have been compiling notes for years now and it has rekindled my interest in music, drawing, and programming. It's something I will have to do to finally put it out of my mind.

>My life has changed. has yours anon?
I have my current job thanks to this game.

Spoilers for blog posting.
I'm one of the anons working on a fan game. I decided early on that I would try to make the system as fine tuned and efficient as possible as a challenge to myself. As such, I studied up on any advanced techniques I could find. I decided to put the game on my resume and started sending it out. Long story short, because I had been learning best programming practices for my fan project, I did really well in an interview and was hired as a software engineer.

I now have a decent job and it's all thanks to Feral.

Alternatively, it's all thanks to all the anons making this a tradition, and to Duet Anon for inspiring me to make my own fan game.

>separate cytube room for music
That's perfect actually, now I don't have to manage the music to begin with. Any other anon can do that job.
I'll download it and keep it handy, thanks for the tip.

>Is that the borked version of Duet?
Can you download it and check?
That's the version of Duet with the working ending 4. The time it softlocked during duet was the streamer's own damn fault for walking funny.

I'll reinstall RPGMaker and try and fix that over the weekend.
We also have to figure out where it’s going to be streamed. Last time I did this, I was going to use Twitch mostly because of VODs, but then I discovered that Twitch can’t be embedded on cytube anymore. Codexx reached out to me and I streamed on, which had some stability issues the first day but was fine the rest of the week. I don’t know if people take issue with that since he’s also the admin of 8moe, but I liked the quick tech support.

Kind of, except I also can't lay on my back for too long, run, or lift. Doing so makes my ass feel like it's tearing, which really fucking hurts, and eventually it will begin to bleed. It fucking sucks and so far I've gotten no explanation for it from doctors beyond "maybe it's stress."
The closest I've found to a solution, and the only reason I'm sitting at a desk now instead of laying on the floor or on a bed, is this chiropractic thing called a denneroll that's supposed to improve your neck posture. Some fucking how that helps, but the problem is that you're supposed to lay motionless on top of it for 5-20 minutes and getting up risks injuring your neck. Sometimes you're just too restless for that, or worse, sometimes your ass hurts and laying on your back aggravates it. Exactly how much time I spend on that thing each day is a balancing act that changes regularly.
Thanks to this, in the credits for a spinoff of the aforementioned UT fangame my role was credited as butthurt programmer.

I would need to know your current skill level to give you good advice, but what I would generally suggest is to work on a project you are honestly excited about and don't be afraid to google things. I should note, though, that I was also studying things like coding patterns and big o notation. Some things I would advise is to learn the various data structures in your chosen language and how best to use them. For example, in C#, there are things like Dictionaries, which are great at finding information given some kind of ID to differentiate them, but is not very good at being iterated through. Additionally there are things like LinkedLists that are easily the fastest at adding new object and reordering the list, but can ONLY be iterated through. Even if you know the exact index of an object in a LinkedList, you still need to traverse the list in order to access it. So, finding the right data structure for the right job is always important. I suggest researching the subject if you haven't already. Also, I used HackerRank to help sharpen my skills for the interview process. It's also really good at helping you think outside the idea of just iterating through data and realizing there are ways to simplify your algorithms for greater efficiency.

>You wouldn't happen to have the one where she is in a coat and scarf with an umbrella do you?

Find someone who does acupuncture and fascial manipulation (they usually overlap), they have a good understanding of the human body and will attempt to heal you without throwing pills down your throat.
Worked for me. Doctors didn't do anything but "do these stretches" except I was already flexible until I got hurt, and those stretches just hurt me more. Then I saw the acupuncture physiotherapist and I could walk again without intense pain.
If, by luck, you live in New Hampshire I could give your a direct reference to the guy.

I appreciate your sincerity. That's how we got shit like Duet and Pittura Infamante, which I consider to be the best Uncommon Time companion pieces. My only problem comes with the idea of rewriting things, that's dangerous territory, regardless of the original work's quality extreme care must be taken to translate the feelings. It's why I consider translation to be a huge pain, for example, the art is sometimes lost in the words. But I'm sure you know all that, and I'm sure you've thought about it a lot, and it's good to always second guess your ideas just in case they are in fact retarded. I know I've been thinking about Xenoblade 2 a lot, and I don't know if I'd even say it's my favorite JRPG let alone game, but I still have a fanfiction idea that I'm never motivated to actually do because my motivation has been fucking dead for at least a decade if not my entire life. Sounds like you've only got one project on your mind though, I've got way too many in way too incomplete states. Maybe I won't like your direction, but I'll appreciate the sentiment at the very least, I think that's the important thing.
Replies: >>68791

>>68666 (checked)
Don't worry about it, as long as you're making progress and the game will be playable eventually then we're good. How much time it takes is irrelevant.

Sweet emotes dude.
I think I used a bad example when I was referring to Batman. Hell, it really shouldn't be called a rewrite because I'm not going to be changing much except how the endings are done and how that'll affect the story. I can already tell you, spoiler free, that it's going to have the same endings plus a CODA-like conclusion after Ending 4. A lot of the work is taking the world as Feral designed it and adding world-building to make it believable instead of an idealized fantasy. With the characterizations, it's mostly going to be removing a lot of needless cussing, reduction of word count, and depoliticizing some of the language. A lot of my investment is going to be in Alto, who I plan to make her be better understood while also making her more extreme. It's very hard to explain what I want to do without actually showing you, so for now all you have is my word that I will preserve the charm.
