I have, it has character presets that look like Leifang and Marie Rose. Which is like I said, acknowledging that people like good old DOA.
I don't really know why they put in the pronoun bullshit either, though I will admit it has annoyed me how on older PS2-era action RPGs when playing as a woman, people still refer to my character as "him" because of developer laziness. While I'm glad a JP dev finally took the time to not be lazy on that, adding in a toggle like that only reminds me of current year politics. It's probably just there because they don't want trannies chimping out on them or something.

The default character is a chink, you'd have to want to be a nigger to play as one.
Also it should be noted that unlike Nioh, a lot of armor you get still allows for female character's breasts to jiggle, probably because it's not being produced by Sony this time.
It actually seems a little out of place in it's Not!Fromsoft-like super serious dark and dirty art style.
I'm not going to bother playing it until all of the DLCs and shit are out and the game's on discount. Played the demo and it's too parry focused for my liking, once you realize how important parrying is to the gameplay, it becomes easy. The artstyle is too coarse and rough for me and Chinese settings aren't as fun as feudal Japan settings.
