[Hide] (267.4KB, 1348x689) A subclass quest requires you to take a special knife (a quest weapon) and stab Baium's toe with it. You don't even need to wait for him to die, just walk up to him and stab him. There, you're done. However, it's not all that easy.
To even gain access to Baium, you are required to complete a quest Arrogant Search, at least mid-way. You need to walk up to Toi 7 at least, then hit a certain mob for ~40 minutes. Why is that? Because some korean developer put a quest item acquire trigger to "on hit" instead of "on kill" and jacked up the odds to minus eleven. After you get an item, a quest gives you a choice about whether you want to continue on, and if you do, you can kill mobs normally for that fabric on the same floor and the one above. Granted, they're different mobs, but those 40 minutes of doing obscure shit nobody not in-the-know would figure out is what makes the game.
Then, there is Baium itself. Baium is one of the epic raid bosses in Lineage II. He drops a special Baium's Ring at 100%, which is an item that gives more crit power and accuracy for a slot that usually gives none. This is something called "epic jewelry" because it is unique to that one Epic Raid Boss and people really, really want to get it. So much that it's monetary value is most likely ABOVE the carried adena cap, which in the game is 2.3b. The most powerful alliances (containing 3 clans max, usually up to cap) on the server congregate, attend Raid Boss respawn timers (8h instead of normal 24h) and fight over the territory. You do not need many people to kill a Raid Boss assuming best equips, maybe one or two parties's worth (9-18 people). People usually bring many more.
Alliances fight over the right to kill Epic Raid Bosses in this game. And Baium is special because anyone that wants to have a subclass must deal with the alliance that wins that right. I've been told earlier by one of them that "to not get PK'd at baium, exit clan and don't talk to anyone". And yet this happens.
